Simultaneously traversing: the pinnacle of all realms

Chapter 63 Joining the Glorious Evolution

After a while, a white light flashed nearby.

Xavier's figure was revealed, though he was wearing a bathrobe and had a tuft of hair sticking up.

"Hey, school hasn't started yet?" Lu Ze looked him up and down.

"It's still early." Xavier walked over and sat down beside him, the three of them sitting in a row. "I sensed you coming in, so I thought I'd share this with you."

After the sharing was completed, the three of them fell silent for a moment.

"Why are there so many people over there again? What's this study group? Oh, did Leaky Cauldron change its business and start a summer tutoring program?"

The Leaky Cauldron's regular staff has expanded from the original Xavier and Hannah to include Ernie, Justin, and Susan—all of whom were brought in by Hannah.

Xavier sighed. "There are only so many young wizards of this age in all of Britain. If you divide them into districts, there won't even be one per district. Since they can't play with Muggle kids, they just end up here."

Muggle child: There is a sad, thick barrier between us.

Tom, the owner of the Leaky Cauldron, has a good reputation, and the parents of these young wizards are quite at ease with him. Of course, they might also be happy for them to come, since young wizards can be much more destructive than ordinary children.

After chatting for a while, Xavier yawned and retreated first, his figure turning into golden specks of light and disappearing into the night.

He's still young, and for the sake of his future height, he won't stay up late.

Xavier curled up in bed for a while to make himself more comfortable.

Before going to sleep, I glanced at the "Standard Spells, Level Two" book beside my bed. On the open cover, a line of small, gold-embossed text was faintly visible:

Let magic be less mysterious, and may magic be with you—Miranda Goschak, Foreword to *The Book of Spells*

London summers are typically not too hot and are also the busiest tourist season. The warm weather and plenty of sunshine mean you can take your time exploring and enjoying outdoor activities.

Similarly, this also means that many tourists will be coming.

So Darren and Beth are going to get busy.

August arrived in the blink of an eye, and Xavier's life continued at its own pace.

Turn off the alarm before it rings, then do a quick wash and run a few laps around the neighborhood to stretch and make sure your body is awake. If Beth isn't up when you get home, prepare breakfast.

Xavier came home a little earlier today; his parents weren't up yet. As usual, he fried bacon and eggs, and heated some milk and bread. Because of his large appetite, he prepared a generous amount of each.

Actually, British bread is more similar to Chinese steamed buns. Chinese bread is more accurately described as pastries and desserts, while fancy breads have a separate section in supermarkets.

Darren and Beth emerged from the room next door, yawning. They were dressed neatly, but still looked tired.

Seeing Xavier busy in the kitchen, Beth walked over with a tender expression, pulled him into her arms, and rocked him gently. "Oh, baby, we're so lucky to have you!"

Xavier, who was being held in his mother's arms, naturally reciprocated by giving her a hug.

Darren sat at the table, eating breakfast and nodding with certainty—especially after hearing his colleague complain about how difficult and troublesome his child was just yesterday.

After breakfast, Xavier's parents each gave him a hug, then drove off to work, leaving him alone at home again.

Two owls—Bobo and Snowball—were fed and then took a nap on their perches.

Xavier sat in the living room, spreading out some books that Darren had brought over—Muggle books, of course.

Since Hogwarts didn't have math and science classes, he started learning things that interested him, and of course, all of these things were useful.

Just like the reaction principles in chemistry and potion-making—both involve mixing different substances in precise proportions to produce changes under specific conditions.

The only difference is that one requires a wand and magic, while the other does not. But the similarities in their processes are eerily high.

Therefore, he became increasingly convinced that the essence of magic was a set of natural laws that had not yet been fully understood, and that spells, wands, and cauldrons were different paths to these laws.

Moreover, Xavier gradually came to enjoy the feeling of learning.

Humans are naturally inclined to absorb information; when the body is hungry, it needs to eat, and when the mind is hungry, it also needs to "eat."

Watching videos, reading news, or watching movies and reading books are all ultimately about satisfying a spiritual "hunger." It's just that some people prefer oily and sugary foods, while others prefer foods with high nutritional content; it's simply a matter of different choices of "food."

However, Xavier felt that his mental "digestion" ability was becoming more and more powerful.

This feeling becomes especially strong after each sharing.

Each sharing involves exchanging memories and power with another version of yourself. Some things don't exist in the constants of this universe, so they aren't manifested; but some things—like the enhancement of the body's essence—are real—endurance, reaction speed, the sharpness of the five senses, and something even harder to quantify, are all quietly increasing.

Xavier calls these changes "hardware upgrades," like a computer where the software remains unchanged, but the hardware keeps iterating and becoming more and more advanced.

He found himself gradually becoming able to think about multiple things at the same time, not as a distraction, but as true parallel thinking; his memory was also changing, and he could leave a clear impression on many things after reading them once or twice; the same was true for his comprehension ability.

He learned in a short time what many people take years to learn and digest, at least compared to Darren and Beth.

Of course, this "intelligence" is limited. He didn't become a genius; he just learned much more efficiently than before.

In gaming terms, what increases is only the "intelligence" attribute, not "wisdom".

When it comes to change, it's not just about intelligence.

Xavier looked at the mirror beside him and stared at his face for a long time.

The facial features are still the same, the face shape is still the same, but there's always a feeling that something is different. It's not a change in appearance, but a more subtle harmony.

His deep blue eyes became even more profound, and his irises would occasionally flash with a faint golden hue when the light shone on them; his hair became healthier, and the blemishes on his skin disappeared; even his teeth became straighter.

Looking at his hairline, Xavier suddenly smiled. Come to think of it, he shouldn't have to worry about the baldness curse associated with Britain.

Xavier revealed the secret of his magical creature abilities.

Antlers appeared, and the already light yellow hair turned white as if it had faded, while the pupils were almost completely filled with pale gold.

Mrs. Pomfrey said his magical animal lineage was benign.

Now it seems that it may be more than just "benign".

Sharing, this golden finger, is "optimizing" him in a certain direction in an extremely slow and almost imperceptible way, making him more "perfect" or "perfect".

Xavier stared at himself in the mirror and suddenly a word came to mind.

"evolution."

He whispered the word, then shook his head and put the antlers back.
