Simultaneously traversing: the pinnacle of all realms

Chapter 44 Everything is ready, just waiting for the Mercedes-Benz

Seeing that everyone seemed to have agreed to carry out the plan, Sally looked at DouDou: "DouDou, aren't you a miracle doctor? Don't you have any other way to help DaBen kick his drinking and gambling addiction?"

"Sally, this addiction, it's an illness, but it's not an illness either."

DouDou sat in the chair, its dog ears twitching. "Even I can only intervene a little. Whether it can be broken depends on whether DaBen has the determination."

"When does a person finally have the determination?" he continued, counting on his fingers.

"When a person experiences a major life-changing event—a moment of extreme joy or sorrow—it's easiest for them to make a firm decision. Da Ben is a man of strong emotions, loyal and devoted; if something were to happen to his loved ones..."

He didn't finish speaking, but everyone understood.

Rainbow Cat pondered for a moment, then said, "Since Great Warrior Daben is the master of the Thunderclap Sword, we should naturally help him wield it. But—"

He held up two fingers.

"Firstly, if we impersonate the Demonic Cult, will Da Ben recognize us? We see each other every day, and even if we're masked, he'll still recognize our figures."

"Secondly, we don't have enough people. The Demonic Cult will attack with at least dozens of people, while we only have six at most."

Everyone fell silent.

Sally sighed, "What can we do? We can't really invite the Demonic Cult here, can we?"

"It's not impossible," Dou Dou muttered under her breath, only to be met with glares from everyone.

Sixth Sister-in-law, who had been silent all along, stood up.

"As I said before, I'll 'die' once."

"But Sixth Sister-in-law, about impersonating the Demonic Sect—" Rainbow Cat frowned.

"No need to pretend." Sixth Sister waved her hand. "There's a cemetery ten miles outside of Happy Forest, the tomb of the Thunderclap Sword Master. The Thunderclap Sword is hidden there, and it's full of traps..."

She paused, turned around, and looked at everyone: "And—"

"The Demonic Cult is very powerful, and its members are everywhere in the martial arts world. I'll have to trouble Young Hero Rainbow Cat to find them and then borrow them for a while."

"I'll send Ben'er away beforehand, and when he comes back, I'll make him think I'm dead. In his grief, he should give up drinking and gambling. Then, I'll take advantage of the situation and make him take out the Thunder Sword."

Rainbow Cat and Blue Rabbit exchanged a glance and slowly nodded.

"It should work," Rainbow Cat said. "It doesn't require impersonation, and it will make Benz believe it."

"If the valiant Da Ben finds out later, he'll probably chase after Young Hero Lu and beat him up." Blue Rabbit smiled, pursing her lips.

Lu Ze touched his nose: "...Why me?"

"Because it was your idea," everyone said in unison.

Lu Ze was speechless.

Early the next morning, Da Ben was sent by Sixth Sister to a distant town, a journey that would take three or four days.

Sixth Sister-in-law used to often send Da Ben to do shopping, so he didn't suspect anything at all. When he left, he was still hoping that everyone would find the Thunder Sword Master as soon as possible.

Over the next few days, everyone went their separate ways.

Rainbow Cat and Blue Rabbit are tasked with tracking down the Demon Cult.

Although the area around Happy Forest is not within the territory of the Demonic Cult, ever since the Seven Swords left the Golden Whip Creek Inn, the Demonic Cult's spies have scattered everywhere like locusts.

Finding a few lone henchmen is not difficult.

Although few people in the martial arts world are willing to confront the Demonic Cult directly, there are often heroes who secretly fight against it. The Demonic Cult itself doesn't care about the disappearance of some henchmen, so Rainbow Cat and his companions are even less worried.

Sally, Dou Dou, and Lu Ze followed Sixth Sister-in-law to the cemetery for decorations.

According to DouDou, to fool DaBen, the fake death drug alone is not enough; the scene must be made to look convincing.

As for Happy Forest, Sixth Sister hardened her heart, took away some valuables and her treasured wines, smashed everything else, and then led them to the cemetery.

"The marks from the swords and knives should be of varying ages," Dou Dou said, squatting on the ground to examine them. "That's what makes them look like the marks of a fierce battle. And there should be bloodstains too—"

He pulled a small porcelain bottle from his medicine box. "This is my specially made blood ointment. It won't dry for three days after you apply it, and it looks exactly like human blood."

Sixth Sister-in-law took the porcelain bottle, rubbed a little on the back of her hand, and smelled it.

"It smells fishy," she said.

"That's right!" DouDou proudly raised her chin. "Real blood tastes like this. Those that use red paint to fool people are obviously fake."

Sally, who was helping to move the stones, couldn't help but laugh when she heard this: "DouDou, where did you learn all these crooked tricks?"

"What do you mean by 'crooked methods'?" Dou Dou asked angrily. "This is called the flexibility of a doctor's compassion! I'm just putting what I've learned into practice!"

Lu Ze stood to the side, lost in thought.

The faked death of Sixth Sister-in-law was a catalyst for Da Ben to quit drinking and gambling.

But what Mercedes-Benz truly needs is not temporary grief, but long-term determination.

"Young Master Lu," Sixth Sister's voice came from inside, "What are you standing there daydreaming about? Come and lend a hand."

Lu Ze snapped out of his daze and walked over.

It turned out to be a stone tablet, heavy in style, with the inscription "Tomb of the Thunder Sword Master" on it.

Sixth Sister stroked the words, her eyes somewhat dazed. "The old master always referred to himself as the Thunderclap Sword Master until his death, and in the end, he never had the title of Thunderclap Manor Master engraved on his name."

Lu Ze remained silent for a while.

"Sixth Sister-in-law, do you resent the old master?"

Sixth Sister-in-law was stunned for a moment.

"What are you complaining about him for?"

"He complained that he left this sword for you to guard, he complained that he handed the Mercedes over to you, he complained that he put this burden on your shoulders."

Sixth Sister looked at Lu Ze, and a hint of a smile suddenly appeared in her eyes, which had seen many hardships.

"No," she said. "The old manor owners have raised me. This sword is their most treasured possession, and Daben is their only child. They are willing to entrust it to me because they trust me."

She patted the stone wall, her tone calm.

On the evening of the third day, Rainbow Cat and Blue Rabbit returned.

The two brought back the corpses of more than a dozen members of the Demonic Cult—all lone spies, whom Rainbow Cat dealt with cleanly and efficiently, leaving no survivors.

"Is that enough?" Rainbow Cat asked.

Sixth Sister-in-law looked at them and nodded: "That's enough. Put them outside, and a few more inside, and it'll look like the Demonic Cult has invaded."

Blue Rabbit took out a black strip of cloth from her sleeve; it was none other than the flag of the Demonic Cult.

"This was taken from a minor leader of a cult," she said. "It can be hung on the door to make it look more authentic."

DouDou took the strip of cloth, turned it over and examined it, and exclaimed in amazement, "The workmanship of the Demonic Sect's stuff is quite exquisite."

"Stop talking nonsense and get to work." Sally snatched the strip of cloth, stood on tiptoe, and hung it above the stone door.

The sky was getting dark.

The group arranged the corpses, left marks of sword cuts on the stone wall, sprinkled DouDou's specially made blood ointment on them, and blasted several craters at the entrance.

DouDou's explosives were quite powerful, blasting away rubble and filling the air with smoke and dust.

"Enough, enough!" Rainbow Cat covered his mouth and nose and backed away. "If you keep blowing things up, the building will really collapse."

DouDou put away the remaining explosives and dusted off her hands: "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."

After everyone arranged the cemetery, the corpses of the demonic cult's henchmen, various damaged traps, and sword marks were all placed everywhere, leaving no stone unturned.

Everything is ready.

We're just waiting for the Mercedes to come back.
