In the world of Moe King, I became the ruler of ice.
Chapter 31 "The Ice Demon"
A figure in blue robes floated down to the ground like a light feather. Landing alongside him was a white frost wolf exuding a chilling aura.
Just then, a small, exquisite slime leaped from the shoulder of the blue-robed figure and landed steadily on the ground.
"Rimuru, I still have some things to take care of. You guys go back first!"
Granstas's voice suddenly rang out, as if he had remembered something important. His gaze fell on Rimuru, his eyes revealing a calmness.
Rimuru paused slightly, a hint of doubt rising in his mind. However, he did not press Gransta for details about what he was going to deal with.
Because he knew all too well that this guy was always shrouded in mystery and his actions were unpredictable. He looked at Gransta with some concern and asked softly.
"Aren't you coming back with us? Are you sure you'll be alright staying here alone?"
Rimuru's tone carried a hint of concern, after all, they had just had a fierce conflict with the king here.
Gransta already had a notorious reputation in the dwarf kingdom, and no one could predict whether his solo actions this time would bring him further trouble or even danger.
Granstas understood Rimuru's worries, but he simply smiled, patted Rimuru's head, and comforted him.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine. This little trouble is no problem for me."
As Gransta spoke, he took a cube from the resource library and waved it in front of Rimuru.
"With my strength, what danger could I possibly face? You, on the other hand, have already been expelled from the country, and you're still here? Gazel might actually come knocking on your door to have a word with you about this!"
"Don't forget, we still have the [Teleportation Cube], right? If you go back to the village, it means I can go back to the village too, right?"
He explained it to Rimuru and gave a mischievous smile.
Rimuru suddenly realized that he seemed to have been expelled from the country by Gazel. If Gazel really came looking for him, the consequences would be unimaginable. Thinking of this, he couldn't help but tremble with fear.
He really didn't want to see that stern and oppressive face again.
"Gransta, I have to go now. Be careful!"
Before he finished speaking, he mounted Lan Ya and sped away at lightning speed, disappearing without a trace in the blink of an eye.
Gransta watched Rimuru walk away silently until he was completely out of sight.
Then, Gulansta turned his gaze back, but at this moment his eyes became extremely cold.
"Come out! Stop hiding. Has Gazel decided to send you to spy on me and Rimuru after all?"
Granstas spoke coldly toward a shadowy spot, releasing his powerful magic at the same time.
In the direction Gransta was looking, a petite figure stumbled out, her eyes filled with disbelief.
How did you find me?
Gransta's expression turned cold. The person in front of him was none other than King Gazel's secret service member—the Shadow.
"You haven't answered my question yet?"
"Granstad said in an unfriendly tone."
Shadow's face froze for a moment, then his expression returned to normal, and he spoke softly.
"Your Majesty, that order was withdrawn long ago. I was not sent to monitor you, but to deliver something to you."
Upon hearing that the other party was not there to spy on him, Gransta withdrew his magic, but raised an eyebrow and asked in confusion.
"Not surveillance? Sending something? What is it?"
Gulansta simply couldn't understand what this cunning old fox, Gazel, who had lived for hundreds of years, was planning.
Shadow calmly took out an ice-blue longsword from behind her back. Her movements were very careful, as if she were holding some rare treasure.
The moment the ice-blue longsword appeared, it emitted a sharp, cold light.
At the hilt of the sword, there was a gemstone that exuded a frosty aura. In an instant, the moisture in the air around them froze into ice and fell to the ground, even covering the ground with a layer of frost.
Granstas's gaze was unremarkable, but when he turned his attention to the sword in the shadow's hand, a strange light flashed in his eyes.
"This sword is called Ice Demon, and it was forged by my king himself many years ago. Its most precious feature lies in this core."
The shadow's voice was somewhat low.
"Decades ago, on the icy plains, an extremely evil ice demon was born, causing quite a stir. Most terrifyingly, her magical power was comparable to that of an ordinary demon king..."
This core was obtained by our king after conquering the Ice Demon King... and since then, it has been carefully kept in the treasury.
The shadow recounted the origins of the Ice Demon Sword in detail, then raised its eyes and stared at Gransta.
Gransta's doubts deepened. How could such a precious weapon be given to him so easily?
He clearly didn't believe such a good thing could happen, so he looked away and looked at the shadow again.
"Why would your king give me such a weapon?"
Gulansta's tone carried a hint of confusion and wariness.
Shadow didn't care about Gransta's confusion and shook his head to continue explaining.
"My king said that giving you this sword is a sign of his high regard for you, and that this weapon is very suitable for you, however..."
Ying hesitated for a moment and didn't continue.
Gulansta glanced at it and, as expected, Gazel wouldn't give him a weapon for nothing, so he spoke calmly.
"Speak! What does your king request?"
Shadow hadn't expected that before she even spoke, Gransta had already guessed that their king needed Gransta's help with something.
"My king says he wishes to meet with the Queen of the Elves, and therefore asks for your help..."
Shadow also conveyed the king's meaning, and she knew why her king was so eager to see the Elf Queen.
"Oh, that's it..."
Gransta was puzzled. The Dwarf King wanted to see the Elf King?
We need his help, even though he's also an elf, he's never met the Elf Queen.
"Why is King Gazel going through me to see the Elf Queen? Aren't you allies?"
Upon hearing Granstas's question, Shadow's expression darkened, and he spoke.
"It might be because of that incident involving the magic-armored soldiers. We were originally relying on the core technology of the Elven race for support, but after that, Lady Ramiris stopped cooperating with us on magical technology and went traveling all over the world."
"They refuse to see our king again. This technology is extremely important to our dwarf kingdom, so..."
Shadow didn't continue, waiting for Gransta's reply.
"I see. That does sound like Ramiris's personality. Did she run off to play in a huff?"
After a moment of silence, Gransta looked at the shadow.
"I can help with this!"
Ying was delighted upon hearing this, and handed the "Ice Demon" to Gransta. With a tremor in space, it disappeared, seemingly to report back.
