Hogwarts: Who uses a crowbar in wizard duels?

Chapter 64 Two or Three Things About Final Exams

"Hermione, do you know where Kevin is? I haven't seen him for two days. He hasn't gone back to his dorm or come to class."

This morning, Harry Ron found Hermione and asked her.

"Didn't he tell you?" Hermione asked, puzzled.

"What did you say?" Harry and Ron were completely bewildered.

"He went out with Snape these past two days, saying he wanted Kevin to establish his own potion sales channels and material procurement channels."

"In Kevin's words, he's going to go from being an employee to owning his own business."

Hermione explained to the two of them, her tone tinged with a hint of pride.

My Kevin is amazing!

Harry Ron wondered why he only told Hermione and not the others. In the end, their feelings had faded.

......

Most potion ingredients are controlled by large families who manage numerous herb fields and artificial breeding farms that produce special products. All you need to do is negotiate the cooperation method with the shopkeepers.

Some potion ingredients are harder to obtain, so you'll need to ask someone to help you get them.

The industry is rife with scams involving these commissions, and people often get ripped off. Meanwhile, official channels are slow and expensive, so nobody uses official commission associations.

Therefore, it is best to find someone you know to handle these kinds of difficult materials, as many of these people frequent black markets like Fandao Lane.

After following Professor Snape for two days, Kevin finally realized that the 1000 Galleons Snape charged him for his service wasn't actually that much.

These are all connections.

It's time for him to get himself a workspace too.

A house that grants every request?

It might work for a few years, but it's not a long-term solution.

We'll find Dumbledore then and see if we can find him an empty room.

Now I can finally be the master of my own destiny!

I'm making my own medicine and selling it myself!

No more working for Snape illegally!

However, to be fair, it was quite convenient that Professor Snape prepared all the materials for him...

Perhaps, figuring out all the subsequent channels myself was Professor Snape's last lesson to me.

Once that's done, I'll be truly independent.

Kevin watched Snape's retreating figure, thinking to himself.

......

When they returned to Hogwarts, it was already evening. When they got back to the common room, they found that Hermione hadn't come back yet.

I asked her roommate and found out that she was studying in the library.

My little Hermione is so hardworking!

Kevin went to the library, searched around, and finally found Hermione at the very back.

She was holding a book about runes and reading it.

Even though Kevin was exceptionally intelligent, he spent all his time on potions and spells. He didn't understand much of the elective courses, and the parts he did understand were all taught to him by Hermione.

Kevin is like someone who specializes in something, while Hermione is a jack-of-all-trades.

"Still in the midst of fierce competition, little genius?"

Kevin chuckled softly, afraid that if he spoke too loudly, the librarian would come and yell at him.

"Kevin! You're back!"

Hermione got a little excited, but the librarian's scolding voice rang out the next second.

"No noise allowed in the library!"

They both shrank back slightly, but then smiled at each other.

This isn't the first time they've been criticized.

They sat down together with perfect understanding, and Kevin looked at the book in Hermione's hand and started learning along with her.

Whether it's useful or not, I don't know, but it's definitely useless if you don't learn it.

The two stayed until curfew was approaching and people started to leave before finally departing the library.

"Kevin, how did it go with Snape these past two days?"

After the two came out, Hermione asked Kevin about what had happened in the past two days.

"Everything went smoothly. I even bought you a little trinket."

Kevin took out an adorable cat keychain.

"Here, you can hang our house keys together."

"So cute, hehe."

Hermione happily took the keychain and nuzzled Kevin affectionately.

As they walked and talked, Kevin asked, "Has anything happened at the academy these past few days?"

"No, nothing's wrong. Oh, by the way, in yesterday's divination class, Professor Trelawney said again that Harry has bad luck and some kind of short-lived fate."

"I don't know if he has a short lifespan, but he certainly seems unlucky. Every year something seems to be targeting him," Kevin chuckled and teased.

"Really? I have a feeling you're also involved?" Hermione said, finding it a little amusing.

"Nonsense, I've always been on the front lines."

"Oh, and yesterday, Sirius gave Harry a flying broom called Firebolt. He said it was the fastest broom ever made. Harry happily sat on it and flew around the school, and then Professor McGonagall deducted 10 points from his score."

"Professor McGonagall is really strict; she even deducts points from her own people."

"He deserved it."

Hermione and Kevin both laughed. Because of Kevin, Hermione had long lost interest in the frivolous House Cup, so let them lose points.

It's like when you're in school, your class is awarded the title of "Three Good Class," but it's useless and you can't put it on your resume.

When the two returned to the common room, chatting and laughing, they found that Harry and Ginny were still awake.

I don't know how they ended up together, chatting in front of the fireplace.

The firelight from the fireplace made their faces glow red.

"It seems we came back at the wrong time."

Kevin looked at Harry, who was hurriedly standing up, and teased him.

"Oh, Kevin, no, that's not true. Where have you been? We haven't seen you for two days and we miss you so much."

Harry blushed, his tone slightly nervous, and he made three feints in a second.

He kept fidgeting with the hem of his clothes, scratching his head, and adjusting his glasses.

Seeing Harry's expression, the others found it amusing.

Hermione winked at Ginny, and Ginny secretly smiled back.

"Alright, alright, I'm exhausted from walking around with Professor Snape these past two days. I'm going upstairs to rest now. Hermione, you should get some rest too."

Hermione nodded tactfully, said goodbye to the two, and went back to her dorm.

Kevin gave Harry a thumbs up and went back.

Let's leave this lounge to Harry and Ginny.

Hey Ron, your sister's about to be snatched away by your brother, and you're still sleeping so soundly.

Never mind, I'm going to sleep too.

Goodnight, Makka Pakka.

......

The next day.

Ron got up and went to wash up as usual, and Kevin greeted him.

"Good morning, Kevin... um?"

"When did you get back?"

Ron looked at Kevin, whom he hadn't seen for two days, with a confused expression, thinking he hadn't woken up yet.

"When you were tap dancing with the spider last night."

"Can we forget about this...?"

"So, how's your final exam preparation going?"

"Kevin, if you really don't know what to say, we can just stay silent..."

Ron was speechless. Next time Kevin disappears for two days, I definitely won't miss him anymore...

Harry woke up just then, and Kevin, seeing Harry's radiant face, knew that the kid must have had a great day yesterday.

"Harry, how did it go last night?"

"Huh? Uh...we made plans to take a walk by Black Lake today..."

Harry knew what Kevin meant, and although he was a little embarrassed, he still answered.

"What were the results? Who did you go for a walk with?"

Ron, completely unaware of the situation, stared blankly at the two who were speaking in cryptic terms.

"It's alright, Ron. Go find Draco to play with. Now it's just the two of you."

Kevin patted Ron on the shoulder, laughed, and left.

Ron was left bewildered.

......

The final exams took place as scheduled over the next few days.

Apart from Harry being inexplicably penalized several points by Snape during his Potions exam, everyone else went quite smoothly.

Although Ron is usually a bit slow-witted, he is quite talented when he studies hard. After following Kai for so long, he can easily pass the final exams.

Everyone passed all the other exams, one by one.

However, the day after all the exams were completed, everyone heard some news.

Professor Lupin resigned from his position as professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts.

His werewolf identity was eventually exposed, apparently by our dear Professor Snape accidentally revealing it.

However, Professor Lupin didn't care. He did feel indebted to Snape. If he had experienced what Snape went through, he wouldn't like him either.

Harry, along with Kevin and the others, went to find Professor Lupin immediately.

"Professor Lupin, nobody cares that you're a werewolf, you don't need to..."

"But Harry, those parents will care, I can't make things difficult for Dumbledore."

Professor Lu Ping remained as natural and easygoing as ever, showing no signs of negative emotions about losing his job.

"Don't worry, Harry, I've been through much harder things than this, so don't worry about me."

Harry kept his head down in silence, deeply reluctant to part with this professor who was like a mentor and friend.

"Professor Luping, here are three bottles of wolfsbane potion for you."

Kevin took three bottles of potions out of his bag and handed them to Professor Lupin.

"Because the ingredients for wolfsbane medicine are quite difficult to find, I've only prepared three bottles so far."

"But in three months, I can prepare more wolfsbane potion, and I will have an owl deliver it to you then."

Professor Lu Ping looked at the three bottles of medicine in his hand in surprise. He knew the value of the wolfsbane medicine, and it was indeed quite difficult to prepare three bottles in such a short time.

"Kevin, thank you for your kindness, but no, I can't keep accepting your kindness. These potions are too valuable."

But in the end, Professor Lu Ping shook his head and declined.

"Then I'll buy it from Kevin and then give it to you," Harry said.

"No, children, thank you for your kindness, but you really don't need to worry about me. Trust me, I can handle the werewolf situation."

Professor Lu Ping patted the two of them on the shoulder solemnly and said...

"Then please at least accept these three bottles. I have no use for them myself, and I can't sell them anyway. Consider them a parting gift from your student."

Kevin still stuffed the three potions into Professor Lupin's luggage, saying very sincerely.

Wolfsbane potion is indeed difficult to sell. Although many people with wolfism need it, they generally cannot afford it.

"...Okay, child, thank you very much. I will use your gift wisely."

Since Kevin had already put it that way, Professor Lupin couldn't very well refuse.

"Don't worry, kids, we might see each other again soon, so don't be sad."

Finally, Professor Lupin bid farewell to the group and left Hogwarts alone.

His back view was slightly desolate, but incredibly upright.
