Hogwarts: Who uses a crowbar in wizard duels?

Chapter 24 Hermione's Tears, and Their Warming Relationship

For the next two days, Kevin stayed at the Granger's house, but Hermione's mood remained low. She seemed to still be bothered by Kevin's refusal to become her family, and no amount of coaxing from Kevin could change her mind.

Even today.

"Mom and Dad! Where did Kevin go?"

Early in the morning, Hermione went to wake Kevin up, only to find that Kevin was not in his room and his things were missing. She anxiously asked her parents.

Last night, she had a nightmare. Kevin walked away with his back to her, and no matter how Hermione called out to him, he didn't respond.

She was left alone, weeping in the endless darkness.

So when she woke up this morning, she was glad it was just a dream, but then she couldn't find Kevin.

Mr. Granger put down his newspaper, his face serious.

"Hermione, Kevin is gone. He said he won't be living here anymore."

"What? Why?!" Hermione, seeing her father's ominous expression, immediately lost control and shouted.

"Sigh, I don't know either..." Mr. Granger turned his back, looking as if he couldn't face his daughter.

"Dad, why didn't you keep him here? Kevin, did he go back to the orphanage? I'm going to find him!"

He said he wouldn't go back to the orphanage either.

"Where did he go?" Hermione asked anxiously, tears welling up in her eyes.

Why did Kevin leave without a word? He had previously refused to become part of their family, and a couple of days ago he suddenly received his parents' belongings. Combined with that ominous dream last night...

Could it be that Kevin has some kind of problem with his background, or that there's some information in his parents' will that she doesn't know, which is why Kevin had no choice but to leave her?

"He just left. Turn right after you go out."

Upon hearing this, Hermione didn't have time to think about the ambiguity of the words and ran out in her slippers.

"If you keep teasing the child like that, she might not talk to you when she gets back," Mrs. Granger said to her husband, looking at Hermione as she ran out the door.

"Haha, we can just shift the blame to Kevin later."

On the other side, Hermione ran out of the room and immediately ran to the right.

The area where they live consists of two-story villas with yards.

Just as I ran to the right, a window on the second floor of the small house next door opened.

"Hey beautiful! Where are you rushing off to? Come sit at my place for a bit."

Hermione heard a familiar voice, turned around, and saw Kevin, whom she had been longing for.

He was leaning on the second-floor windowsill, looking down at Hermione with a smile.

result...

"...Ugh, Kevin..."

Hermione finally broke down in tears, and being the clever girl she was, she immediately realized that Kevin and her parents were teasing her.

But she was really scared just now, scared that Kevin would just disappear.

Kevin, who was upstairs, saw Hermione crying.

This is a huge problem!

He quickly jumped down from the second floor and flew to Hermione's side in two steps.

"Hermione, don't cry. I'm sorry, I...I..."

Kevin quickly pulled Hermione into his arms, gently patting her back and stammering words of comfort.

Hermione cried even harder as a result.

She held onto Kevin tightly.

Fortunately, no one passed by here in the morning.

Hermione cried for a while before she started to feel the pain subside.

"I'm sorry, Hermione. I shouldn't have scared you. I promise it won't happen again."

As the crying subsided, Hermione buried her head in Kevin's arms and sobbed softly.

Kevin is now exactly one head taller than Hermione.

Kevin gently patted Hermione's back, while stroking her head with one hand, comforting her with tenderness.

Hermione finally raised her head, her beautiful eyes red from crying, with a few tears still glistening.

Kevin reached out, cupped Hermione's face, and gently wiped away her tears.

Hermione suddenly opened her mouth and bit Kevin's shoulder hard.

"hiss!"

That was quite a force.

Hermione finally let go after a pair of adorable teeth marks were left on her shoulder.

"Stinky Kevin, stinky Kevin..."

Hermione, her voice trembling with tears, kept muttering and cursing at Kevin, and kept stomping on his feet with her little feet.

Kevin couldn't really resist; calming Hermione down was the top priority right now.

"I dreamt last night... I dreamt that you left me without looking back. Do you know how scared I was just now? I was so afraid that you really... really didn't want me anymore..." Hermione said, her voice trembling with tears, as she punched Kevin with her little hands, looking very aggrieved.

Kevin never expected to have such a dream at this time, and he now understood why Hermione was crying so hard.

"How could I possibly not want you, Hermione? I promise you, I will never leave you again."

Kevin knelt down on one knee, held Hermione's small hand, and looked up at Hermione's aggrieved little face.

"I don't believe you anymore, you bad guy..." Hermione was clearly not recovered so quickly, and she was still very aggrieved.

Seeing Hermione so pitiful, Kevin could no longer suppress his emotions.

A year ago, when he first met Hermione, he had to admit that he was attracted to her because of her lovely appearance.

However, as time went by, the distance between the two grew closer and closer, from initial unfamiliarity to familiarity, and finally to complete intimacy. They gradually became best friends who could talk about anything, sharing everything from the trivialities of life to their deepest secrets without reservation.

During this wonderful time, they studied together, encouraged each other, and progressed together; they shared each other's joys and sorrows; they strolled together, enjoying this magical world. Every exchange and interaction deepened and strengthened their bond.

The flutter of the heart during adolescence is accumulated from these little moments of the past. Anyone who gets along so intimately with such a lovely girl will eventually evolve from a simple liking for her appearance into a deep love for her as a whole.

In short, he was moved.

Kevin slowly unfastened the pink bracelet on his wrist.

Then he took Hermione's small hand and, while putting the bracelet on her wrist, said...

"Hermione, this bracelet is for you. It was left to me by my parents, and it's a pair with the blue bracelet I'm wearing."

"They are actually a pair of magical items. As long as you infuse magic into one bracelet, the other bracelet will light up and guide you to where the other is, so you won't lose track of me."

"You won't believe me, just look."

After Kevin helped Hermione put on the bracelet, he infused his own bracelet with magic.

A soft glow emanated from both his and Hermione's hands.

The light seemed to draw them together, as if connecting their hearts. Their hands were clasped together, and the light slowly enveloped them.

This is a light that only wizards can see.

"How about that? I wasn't lying to you."

"But aren't these the keepsakes your parents left you...?"

Hermione really liked the bracelet, but she was a little worried.

"Giving it to you is the best choice. Remember, they're a pair. My parents told me to give the other one to someone important... well, someone special, so I wanted to give it to you."

Hermione's face gradually flushed red, and she dared not look Kevin in the eye.

That stinky Kevin, he was just about to say who he likes, right...?

When Hermione discovered Kevin was missing, she realized that her feelings for Kevin were not just simple friendship.

She herself also likes Kevin.

This affection wasn't a fleeting impulse or mere curiosity, but rather something that developed after spending a long time together and getting to know each other. She found herself becoming increasingly dependent on Kevin, wanting to share everything with him, from studies to the mundane details of life.

That's why I often feel emotions I've never felt before because of Kevin.

I feel lonely if I don't see him for too long.

He gets angry when other people of the opposite sex approach him.

He feels his heart flutter when he looks at himself.

However, Hermione was always at a loss when faced with such strong feelings. Sometimes she didn't even know if it was love or not, so she kept avoiding the thought.

Only now has she finally confirmed it.

But she didn't know how to express these feelings...

The two remained silent. Mrs. Granger, who was peeping from inside the house, became so anxious that she grabbed her husband's neck and kept hitting him. She really wanted to go up and force the two of them together!

What are you standing there for?! Go kiss her!

After putting the bracelet on Hermione, Kevin stood up, took her hand, and said softly.

"Hermione, would you like to wear it?"

"Um.."

Kevin finally calmed Hermione down.

"Hermione, actually I wanted to give you a surprise today."

"Hmm?" Hermione raised her little head, her big eyes, still glistening with tears, looking at Kevin with a puzzled expression.

Kevin's heart skipped a beat when he saw Hermione's pitiful eyes.

"I've rented this house in the back. This will be my new home from now on. I'll be living right next to you. You can come and visit me anytime."

"Here's the key. From now on, this will be your home too."

Kevin took out a keychain and handed it to Hermione.

Hermione took the key and stared wide-eyed at Kevin.

His eyes were full of surprise.

Kevin had previously refused to let his parents come to her house, and she had been very concerned and disappointed these past two days, wondering why Kevin didn't want to live with her.

It turned out that he wanted to rent a place next door so that he could live with her.

She knew that Kevin had always been independent and strong, so he refused her parents' offer of adoption because he didn't want to live under someone else's roof.

"I don't have enough money right now, but if I sell some more potions in the next two years, I'm sure I'll be able to earn enough to buy this place and live with you forever."

"Mmm!" This time, Hermione jumped into Kevin's arms on her own, rubbing against him happily.

The knot in her heart that she had been carrying for the past two days has finally been untied.

Then Kevin took Hermione to visit their new home.

The place was empty and lacked a lot of furniture. But Kevin had already planned it; in a few days he would take Hermione to a furniture store to pick out some suitable pieces to decorate their new home.

Hermione happily agreed to the suggestion. She imagined herself and Kevin shopping at a furniture store, strolling hand in hand among the various pieces of furniture, discussing which style would best suit their home.

She felt like it was like they were starting to live together and decorating their love nest together.

The Grangers, who were eavesdropping next door, saw the two children finally finish talking and go inside the house.

They came here too.

Then Mr. Granger got kicked in the shin several times by an angry Hermione, who said it was all his fault for scaring her.

Kevin, you haven't said a word about it.

Kevin spoke well of Mr. Granger; if it weren't for him, they wouldn't have been able to rent such a close-off place.

Hermione then forgave him.

Two days ago, Kevin asked the Grangers to rent the house in their name.

They rented it for two years and said they would buy it later when they had enough money.

At first, they didn't believe that Kevin, a child, could have so much money, so he had to tell them that he was now a potion maker to reassure them that he could earn enough money.

They also confirmed with Hermione that it was indeed true.

That's when they used their connections to find someone to rent the place next door.

Mr. Granger looked at Kevin, who had come to his rescue, and said that this son-in-law was acceptable.

For the next few days, Hermione didn't stay at her own house anymore. She came to the neighbor's every day and stayed there except for eating and sleeping.

Together they planned how to lay out their new home. She canceled some of her holiday plans because decorating the new home was more important than that.

Afterwards, they went to the furniture store with the Grangers, and with their help, they were able to buy enough new furniture and hire a renovation team to redecorate some areas.

This process lasted for a month.

While the renovation team was working, they only went to check on things occasionally, and then continued to accompany Hermione on her vacation plans.

Of course, Kevin didn't forget Professor Snape's holiday assignments either. Whenever he had free time, he would hide in the basement of the little house and brew the potions on the list.

Hermione even came to watch during the event, as she originally wanted to try it out herself.

However, upon learning that the materials were limited and all of them had to be of excellent quality, she decided against it, rather than risk producing a substandard product and having to go out of her way to buy the herbs herself.

This is such a mess, it's all that old bat's fault!

Snape, far away at Hogwarts, sneezed.

?

However, Kevin had some other potion-making ingredients, which he gave to Hermione. He then guided her while he brewed potions himself.
