Hogwarts: Who uses a crowbar in wizard duels?
Chapter 22 Holiday Homework
"Kevin, are you going back to the orphanage for the holidays?" Harry and Kevin were on their way to the meeting hall; today was the year-end meeting.
"That's right, but it's also possible that I'll stay at Hermione's house for a while. Hermione asked me to visit her during my vacation," Kevin replied.
"You guys have such a good relationship. Can I write to you during the holidays?" Harry said, both envious and expectant.
"Of course I can. If I don't receive your letter, I'll come straight to your house," Kevin said half-jokingly. Of course, he knew that Harry would be under house arrest by his aunt and uncle's family during the holidays.
But Harry had to go back; they were his only blood relatives. Even Sirius Black was just Harry's godfather; he couldn't replace a blood relative.
"Then it's settled." Harry was happy that Kevin was willing to correspond with him.
"Do you think our house will win this year's House Cup?" Harry continued to ask.
"If it weren't for Gryffindor, Ron would eat his ass while standing upside down."
"Why use Ron as an oath?"
"What if it really isn't?"
"All right..."
When the two arrived at the meeting hall, Hermione and Ron were already there, waving to them.
"Why are you two so slow?"
"Isn't it time to leave Hogwarts? Harry reluctantly pulled me around a few times," Kevin blurted out.
"Huh?" Harry was taken aback, but no.
Hermione glared at Harry, then pulled Kevin to sit down next to her.
The year-end review began quickly, and Dumbledore started to speak.
That old rascal is wicked; he first lets the little snakes of Slytherin cheer, making them think they're number one.
Then another round of bonus points came in, and Gryffindor became number one.
Now, apart from the Slytherin table, the students from the other three houses cheered.
Slytherin's long-standing rule has finally been broken.
It's just a change of decor for the auditorium; I don't know what these kids are cheering for.
Hogwarts is quite good at stimulating internal competition among these children.
After the meeting, the four children were planning to leave together and go to the train station to catch their train.
Professor Snape suddenly moved closer to him.
"You guys go ahead, I'll follow you right away." Kevin saw Snape staring at him and knew that Snape had come to find him.
Just as he walked over, Snape tossed him the stretching charm cloth bag he had lent him last time.
"Once it's done, have the owl deliver it."
After uttering this ambiguous statement, Snape waved his long black robe and walked away like a bat.
"?"
Kevin opened the cloth bag and found it was filled with potion-making materials.
There were also some tools, and a list.
It's a list of potions, ending with the statement: "All potions must be of excellent quality. If any potion fails to be made, you'll have to find a way to make up the missing amount yourself. If you're even half a bottle short, you don't need to come to school."
Well, you're giving me holiday homework even during my vacation?
But Kevin didn't dare not do it; he was now indeed Snape's disciple.
Finally, Kevin packed up the bag and went to catch up with Hermione and the others.
Snape looked down quietly from upstairs.
Kevin, walking with a confident stride and full of vigor, met up with his companions, chatting and laughing. The little witch beside him looked at him with affection.
He seemed to see his own extraordinary talent from back then, as well as the qualities he had longed for but could not obtain and the people he cherished.
"Severus, it seems you really like this disciple."
Dumbledore's voice rang out.
"Hmph, he's just got a little talent."
Dumbledore smiled, looking at the stubborn Snape.
The only difference between Kevin and Snape now is time.
In the future, Kevin will become a Potions Master, even a Magic Master, surpassing Snape.
But he will not become the next Snape.
......
"Kevin, Harry, Hermione, would you like to come over to my house for the holidays?" Ron invited them after boarding the train.
"I mentioned you in my letter home, and my parents would very much like to invite you to visit."
"Of course," Kevin readily agreed.
"In that case, we'll have to change our holiday plans..." Hermione would, of course, go with Kevin.
"No, the holiday hasn't even started yet, and you've already made the plans?" Ron looked at Hermione in surprise.
"Of course, please set a time as soon as possible so I can make arrangements."
"Acting like some big shot..." Ron scoffed.
"Harry, what about you?"
"I'll go too! But..."
Harry certainly wanted to go out and play with his friends, but considering his family's situation, he couldn't make that promise.
"Ron, let's set it for a week before school starts."
"I'll tie Harry up and take him there. We'll go straight back to school after we're done playing," Kevin said, making the decision for Harry.
"Is everything alright, Harry?"
Kevin winked at Harry.
Harry was overjoyed to agree; he couldn't have been happier to have someone take him out, his eyes brimming with excitement.
Hermione frowned as she watched the two exchanging glances.
She recalled how Kevin was very patient with Harry when he was teaching him spells, often guiding him step by step...
Harry is indeed quite cute...
Could it be?!
Hermione shook her head frantically, like a cat with its fur standing on end, trying to shake off the strange thoughts.
"What's wrong with her?" The group looked at Hermione, puzzled.
......
When they arrived at the station, Kevin saw the Grangers again.
They all invited Kevin to stay at their house.
However, Kevin declined, as he had stayed at Hermione's house for a few days during Christmas to spend time with her.
It's not appropriate now. He still has no official relationship with the Granger family, and he feels embarrassed to keep going there to freeload.
He planned to go to Gringotts later to exchange some of his Galleons for pounds.
Then he asked the Grangers to help him rent a house near their home, to be their neighbor, so that he could buy it directly once he had saved enough money.
"Kevin, Hermione really wants you to come and live with us, and we'd love to have you. You really don't need to feel embarrassed or anything." Mrs. Granger clearly liked Kevin very much and encouraged him to come and live with them.
"I know, Auntie. I'm also very grateful to you and Uncle. I'll visit you in a while, and I hope you'll let me stay for a few days then," Kevin said half-jokingly.
Kevin plans to secretly have the Grangers help him rent a house and then surprise Hermione; he can't let Hermione know yet.
"Alright, then remember to come early, or Hermione will be unhappy."
"Mom! I won't!" Hermione retorted, blushing.
"I understand, Auntie." Kevin smiled.
Then Kevin said goodbye to the Grangers, and Hermione looked unhappy with a sullen face.
Once their car disappeared from sight, Kevin turned and walked towards the Leaky Cauldron.
Go exchange some money.
Oh right, more than half a year ago, during the battle with the troll, his wand broke and he hadn't replaced it yet, so he'd been using the spare wand Snape gave him.
To be honest, it's quite easy to use, but he still has to prepare one himself.
Kevin soon arrived at Diagon Alley and headed straight for the wand shop.
Pushing open the door, Ollivander was standing at the counter, and when he looked up, he saw Kevin.
"Oh, I remember you, red sandalwood, ten and a tenth of an inch, phoenix feather." Ollivander saw Kevin and recited the information about the wand he had sold him; he remembered every one of his customers.
"Yes, sir. In fact, my wand is broken, and I need a new one."
"Yes, I know. Hogwarts has reported this to the Ministry of Magic." Ollivander nodded, then turned to find him a wand.
"Try this one, made of ginkgo wood, a rare choice, nine inches long, with a core of unicorn hair."
A cream-colored wand was handed to Kevin, who tried waving it, and the effect was excellent.
"Hmm, not bad, it seems you're a good match for him. Sincerely, 9 Gold Galleons."
After leaving Ollivander, Kevin continued on to Gringotts.
I generously exchanged 5000 Galleons for £25000 (at an exchange rate I set arbitrarily).
After all, even in the Muggle world, you have to spend money, like renting a house and buying furniture.
Kevin then left Diagon Alley, hailed a taxi, and went back to the orphanage.
On the way, he bought a lot of things to take back with him.
He is still a child, and although he plans to rent a house outside, his status prevents him from leaving the orphanage.
Unless someone adopts him, or he comes of age and obtains legal citizenship.
So he has to go back and discuss it with the director, get a nominal position at the orphanage, and then move out to live elsewhere.
