Kevin and Hermione boarded the train back to the Muggle world.

Hermione, unusually, didn't get absorbed in studying and instead chatted with Kevin about her childhood.

She shared funny stories from her childhood with Kevin, who in turn told her about his time in the orphanage.

Hermione knew all along that Kevin never considered himself an orphan; he just happened to grow up alone. He wouldn't feel sensitive or hurt by the topic of orphanages. On the contrary, he was stronger, more confident, and braver than Hermione and the others.

However, Hermione does most of the talking.

She seemed to have an endless stream of topics to talk about, her little mouth never stopping since she got in the car, showing great excitement. It was the first time she had invited a friend to her home for a holiday, let alone a boy.

This is enough to prove how different Kevin is in Hermione's heart.

She seemed to want to tell Kevin everything she had wanted to share since childhood but had never had the chance to.

Even though Kevin was just listening quietly, she felt very happy.

As they chatted, the two unconsciously grew closer and closer.

Hermione leaned against Kevin, sometimes opening her arms, sometimes twisting her head, displaying a wealth of body language.

Kevin played with Hermione's fluffy, soft hair, his nose and mouth filled with the fragrance emanating from her.

As they talked, Hermione started planning where she and Kevin would go on vacation, places Kevin had never been before. Hermione wanted to take Kevin to places he liked and share his fun.

Hermione is very opinionated and likes to be in control; she plans almost everything meticulously. Perhaps it's because she's too assertive, and children are concerned about their image and don't want to appear inferior to Hermione, that they don't like playing with her.

Coincidentally, Kevin always slacks off during his holidays, and when someone helps him come up with plans, he's happy to not have to think.

So he accepted all of Hermione's arrangements.

Kevin was completely absorbed in braiding Hermione's hair, while Hermione was oblivious, feeling only a warm sensation against Kevin's side and a sense of inexplicable satisfaction.

It feels so good to stick it on.

Finally, it was time to get off the train, and Kevin and Hermione stepped off together.

"That's strange, why do I feel like so many people are watching me?"

Hermione walked along and noticed many people staring at her.

It seemed like they were laughing at her, but it wasn't in a malicious way.

"Maybe everyone has noticed how cute you are."

Hermione blushed, completely unaware that Kevin was trying to suppress a laugh when he said that.

Finally, they reached the outside of the train station, where there were more people around, and Hermione spotted her parents, the Grangers.

"Mom and Dad! I'm home!"

Hermione ran towards her parents.

"Oh, baby, your hair...is so unique."

Mrs. Granger caught her daughter as she lunged forward, her tone slightly teasing as she looked at Mr. Granger with an expression that seemed to want to laugh.

"Hair?" Hermione was taken aback and quickly touched her hair.

Hermione's originally fluffy and smooth hair was now tangled up in all sorts of strange ways, with a few strands sticking out of the hair.

Kevin, who was behind him, finally couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"Kevin!!" Hermione screamed, covering her head and burying herself in Mrs. Granger's arms.

She now finally understood why she had been stared at the whole way; it was incredibly embarrassing.

Mrs. Granger finally couldn't help but laugh, and Hermione patted her mother unhappily with her little hand, trying to stop her from laughing and to quickly restore her hair.

"I'm sorry, Uncle and Aunt, it's nice to meet you for the first time. Please excuse my rudeness. I just couldn't help but play a little joke on Hermione."

Kevin laughed for a while before finally calming down. He then went over to greet the Grangers. They didn't blame Kevin for playing a prank on their daughter. Their daughter had never made any real friends growing up, and they were happy that she had a friend.

"You must be Kevin. My Hermione has mentioned you to us a lot."

Mr. Granger also resumed his adult demeanor and spoke to Kevin in a serious manner.

"I didn't mention him! He's a bad person!"

Hermione, still in Mrs. Granger's arms, said angrily.

"Well, let's get in the car first."

Mr. Granger suggested that many people on the street were watching them.

Soon Kevin got into Mr. Granger's car and they went home together.

On the way, the Grangers chatted happily with Kevin about everyday matters.

Hermione seemed to have mentioned a lot about Kevin in the letter. The Grangers seemed to know Kevin very well, knowing about his background, his talents, and some things about the House.

The person they wrote about the most in the letters was Kevin, their daughter's first best friend since childhood. The letters were full of praise for Kevin, how wonderful and amazing he was.

Mr. Granger was initially unhappy for a while.

It wasn't until she heard that Kevin had silently stayed by her side when she was sad, and that he had bravely fought off a giant to protect Hermione.

Mr. Granger finally accepted the brat.

Mrs. Granger had heard that Kevin was an orphan, but Kevin never felt inferior or depressed because of his orphan status. On the contrary, he was always positive, sunny, strong, and brave.

Mrs. Granger loved and adored Kevin very much.

She even mentioned to her husband whether they should adopt Kevin and make him their own child.

Mr. Granger said yes, but he would need to observe further and also find out Kevin's own wishes.

They arrived home quickly, and Hermione finally paid attention to Kevin, though she simply put her hand on Kevin's waist and led him on a tour of her house.

Kevin didn't see anything and was in pain the whole time.

If I keep pinching like this, will it cause any health problems later on?

The Grangers watched this scene with amusement. Although their daughter's face was full of unhappiness, it was the first time they had ever seen Hermione have such a strong emotional reaction to someone.

Hermione used to be like a proud swan. Although she was isolated and even bullied by her classmates, she never compromised. Instead, she isolated the whole class and didn't have such a big emotional fluctuation because of those people. She just thought that these people were not like her.

"I was wrong, Hermione. I'll never do it again."

"Hmph!" The little girl then tightened her grip even more.

"Alright, Hermione, why don't you show Kevin around the room he'll be staying in for the next while?"

"If you want to flirt, you can do it in the room. And Kevin, you should also be careful with your words," Mrs. Granger said with a smile.

"Huh?" Kevin was taken aback. What do you mean by "be mindful of boundaries"? Your daughter is only 12 years old!

"I! I didn't flirt with him at all... Mom, don't talk nonsense, it's true." Hermione blushed deeply at her mother's words.

After saying that, she pulled Kevin upstairs.

Before going upstairs, Kevin saw that the usually mild-mannered and composed Mr. Granger secretly made a fist-punching gesture at him, as if warning Kevin not to do anything reckless.

That's just right, that's just right.

Kevin responded with a thumbs up.
