Hogwarts: Who uses a crowbar in wizard duels?
Chapter 123 Seeking Alchemy from Dumbledore
It's a real shame.
Kevin has never attended a single class taught by Professor Moody.
Last year, Barty Jr. substituted for the class, and this year, Professor Moody himself finally got to teach, but Kevin couldn't participate because he also had to teach young wizards.
Kevin walked toward the classroom, rubbing the large bump on his head as he thought to himself.
Kevin soon arrived at the potions classroom on the first floor. Before he even entered, he could hear a noisy commotion inside.
It's nothing more than the fact that Kevin, a student, is serving as their teacher, and the topic of whether the mysterious man has truly been resurrected.
With a bang, Kevin pushed the door open forcefully.
The whole class fell silent immediately.
"I could hear your voices even before I came in. Your class is the noisiest on the whole floor."
Kevin walked in step by step, stood on the podium, and slowly began to speak.
I've wanted to try this line for a long time, and I didn't expect it to work so well. No wonder my homeroom teacher in my past life liked to say it so much.
Kevin looked at the quiet young wizards below the stage and thought to himself.
However, the young wizards below the stage looked at each other in confusion. It seemed like they were the only classroom on the first floor with classes today...
"My name is Kevin, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, I will be your Potions teacher for the next few years."
"Many of you probably recognize me, so let's skip the small talk and get right to class."
Kevin, regaining his composure, addressed the crowd, instructing everyone to open their books.
But before Kevin could even begin his lecture, a young wizard from Ragnarok raised his hand.
"Mr. Kevin, what about a surprise test? The upperclassmen all say that your first class is always a surprise test."
Upon hearing this question, the other young wizards also looked at Kevin with curiosity.
"You first-year students haven't even started learning yet, what are you going to test us on?"
Kevin found it somewhat amusing and asked in return.
"..."
The young wizards were all speechless.
Oh no, we were tricked by the senior. What about all that all-night study session we did yesterday?
"The surprise exams are for your seniors. Don't worry, I'll teach them a lesson."
Kevin seemed to sense what everyone was thinking and said with a smile.
After that, Kevin began to give the young wizards a normal theoretical education, and then let everyone try the process of making potions to stimulate their curiosity and desire to learn.
After the class, everyone had gained some initial approval of Kevin, the young teacher.
There are no obscure knowledge points for them to figure out on their own; the content taught is all practical information.
The upperclassmen all said that Professor Snape's classes often required students to learn and figure things out on their own, which was very difficult.
But not in Mr. Kevin's class.
On the contrary, they felt that the teaching was too detailed, forcing them to spend a lot of time digesting the knowledge points.
So although the senior students had many complaints about Kevin's cramming style of teaching, no one thought that Kevin was a bad teacher.
At least at Eagle School, Kevin's classes were very popular because everyone could learn something from them.
I don't know about the other colleges; ultimately, whether they want to study or not is their business.
The class ended quickly, and Kevin said goodbye to the young wizards and returned to his workshop.
Hermione and the others haven't finished class yet.
Because after fifth grade, their studies became much more demanding, with three or four classes a day.
The young wizards in grades one through four usually only have two classes a day, sometimes only one class, or even no classes at all.
But it made no difference to Kevin; the OWLS exam was not difficult for him.
When I returned to the workroom, I found that there were already people there.
Upon entering, I saw it was Headmaster Dumbledore.
At that moment, Dumbledore was curiously examining a black box in the corner of Kevin's office.
"Oh Kevin, you're back. How was the class today?"
When Kevin returned, Dumbledore greeted him.
"Not bad, Principal. What brings you here?"
"I just came to see this thing, and you've already taken care of it?"
Dumbledore pointed to the black box in the corner and said.
"Yes, because Umbridge's office seems a bit unsafe, so Professor Moody left it with me."
"That's true. Her office is filled with her cat dishes, which can connect her to various places and transmit information."
Dumbledore nodded, but then changed the subject and said seriously.
"But Kevin, if the contents of this box are discovered by you, you will also bear inescapable responsibility."
"I personally knocked him out, why would I be afraid of this?"
Kevin chuckled and said.
Seeing Kevin's attitude, Dumbledore didn't say anything more, but simply added some more comprehensive protective measures to the box.
"By the way, Principal, I happen to have something I'd like to ask you."
Seeing that Dumbledore had finished his topic, Kevin continued.
"I'm thinking of systematically learning alchemy recently. Do you have any suggestions?"
"You're quite good at giving me difficult problems."
As Dumbledore cast a spell on the black box, he slowly muttered something to himself.
"After all, the school doesn't have any teachers in this field, so I can only ask you."
"I remember you were a good friend of the alchemist Nicolas Flamel. There's no way you wouldn't know alchemy."
Hagrid revealed this information when Kevin was in first grade, so it's not surprising that Kevin knew about it.
"Alright, alright, I do know some alchemy."
Seeing that Kevin had even brought up Nicolas Flamel, Dumbledore had no choice but to answer Kevin's question.
"Could you tell me what kind of alchemical artifacts you want to create?"
After Dumbledore finished casting the spell on the black box, he looked at Kevin and asked slowly.
Kevin gestured for Dumbledore to sit down, and then shared his thoughts with him.
He wanted to create a large-scale alchemical artifact.
It's somewhat similar to the sect's fate tablet in fantasy novels.
It involves making hundreds of amulets, distributing them to members of the Order of the Phoenix, and then connecting all these amulets to a central controller.
If any amulet holder is attacked, it will be immediately displayed on the central controller, allowing them to know who has been attacked right away.
This will minimize the chances of our personnel being attacked when they are alone and without anyone to rescue them.
The reason for doing this is that Harry's dream connection with Voldemort has become increasingly unstable recently.
Kevin was worried that Harry wouldn't know in time when Mr. Weasley was attacked.
Other unidentified members may also have been attacked.
After listening, Dumbledore fell into deep thought.
Well, this thing has its advantages and disadvantages.
This is a powerful tool when the enemy has not yet obtained information about this amulet.
However, if the enemy obtains this intelligence, they may turn around and use this talisman to lure the enemy away from their base and disperse their forces.
Overall, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and the drawbacks can be addressed by finding ways to improve them.
And on the eve of this war, it might come in unexpected use.
If Dumbledore controlled the central control system, he was confident that if anyone was attacked, he could arrive at the scene before the protective charm of the amulet broke, and seize Voldemort's tail to obtain more information.
Dumbledore's goal was never to kill Voldemort.
Instead, they need to find Voldemort's Horcruxes.
"Great idea, Kevin."
"How about this, you have teaching duties and OWLS exams to worry about, and I have matters to attend to with the Order of the Phoenix. Let's set aside Saturdays and Sundays to study alchemy together."
Dumbledore thought for a while before speaking to Kevin.
"No problem!" Kevin nodded and said.
He believed that someone as talented as Dumbledore, and a friend of Nicolas Flamel, must have considerable alchemical skills.
As for asking Dumbledore to find Nicolas Flamel to teach him, Kevin thought it was unrealistic.
They've been retired for decades or even centuries, why would they come out of seclusion to take on disciples for a mere upstart like me?
Unless Kevin later demonstrates extraordinary alchemical talent that Dumbledore can no longer teach, it's unlikely that he would be recommended to Nicolas Flamel.
