Mortal: Li Feiyu, who came from the realm of a supreme being

Chapter 67 Myriad Paths of the Underworld

"So... this is the reason I transmigrated?" Li Feiyu recalled this memory and suddenly felt a sense of disorientation, as if waking from a dream.

No wonder I subconsciously gave up the great cultivation technique I had painstakingly obtained in my previous life; no wonder my natal divine weapon didn't come with me; and no wonder... as a transmigrator, my soul wasn't particularly strong, and my divine sense was only average.

So, I was just a spirit and memories... That brilliant explosion back then, I guess I really died, didn't I?

However, since the memory remains and the consciousness continues, He has indeed kept His word.

The only problem is that the mortal world doesn't seem to be a good place either; the Heavenly Dao here is even more disgusting than in the real world.

They squeezed you dry from start to finish, with the only real benefit being in the Taiyi Realm—they were about to reach the limit of their cultivation, but then they told you to stop and just lie there? Who would willingly stop like that? Wouldn't they want to go up and see what's next?

Pulling her chaotic thoughts back, Li Feiyu wasn't too deeply affected by that suddenly resurrected memory. The past was like a dream; there was no need to dwell on it excessively.

All he knew was that he could still think, still have memories, and still be alive—that was enough!

The great path of this life begins with the two words: birth and death.

The eight paths contained in "The Myriad Paths of Heaven and Earth"—Heaven, Earth, Orthodox, Unorthodox, Yin, Yang, Birth, and Death—appear to be parallel, but in fact they implicitly contain a sequence and logic. Logically speaking, birth and death are the ultimate of all phenomena and should be the last to be comprehended.

However, since he self-destructed his Dharma body in his previous life, the karma of reincarnation no longer exists, which can be considered as experiencing the meaning of birth and death in advance.

At this moment, memories of the end of his past life and the rebirth of this life intertwine. All the struggles, calculations, tenderness, and decisiveness of the past flash through his mind like a revolving lantern, giving him a profound understanding of "the impermanence of life and death" that transcends words and is difficult to express.

"Heaven and earth are the fundamental framework for the existence of all things, the cornerstone of 'existence'." Li Feiyu looked inward at himself, and the inner world that was violently turbulent due to the infusion of the power of birth and death, yet was also faintly expanding in the process of constant collapse and reconstruction, seemed to be confirming his thoughts.

"Yin and Yang are the driving force of the world's operation and the source of 'change'." He thought of the "Yang Yang Generates Yin" auxiliary cultivation method that he was about to create for Yan Ruyan, which was a link in leveraging Yin and Yang and transforming the driving force.

"And birth and death..." He sensed the two opposing, conflicting yet subtly interdependent forces within his inner world, "that are the beginning and end of the evolution of all things, the 'process' itself. From nothing to something is birth, from something back to nothing is death, a cycle that repeats endlessly."

This is the true core of the eight paths in "Myriad Paths of the Mortal Realm".

Heaven and earth are the foundation, yin and yang are the power, birth and death are the process, and orthodox and unorthodox are the methods. The first three can be plundered, comprehended, and filled from the outside world through the technique of "devouring the Dao." But this ultimate "method"—how to integrate and apply the first six paths, how to find and break through the "gaps" in the laws of this world—can only be created through one's own wisdom, experience, and sudden enlightenment. It cannot be borrowed from external objects, nor can it be copied from predecessors.

"Only in this way can the 'Dao' and 'Fa' that one comprehends entirely through one's own efforts truly touch upon and understand the underlying 'principles' of this world." A hint of understanding flashed in Li Feiyu's eyes. "This is perhaps why that being made me abandon the Great Dao cultivation methods of the Real World and switch to this path. To avoid the influence of the established 'Dao,' to start from scratch in this world, to deconstruct and comprehend it from a completely different perspective and through a different path, and ultimately... find that path."

As enlightenment deepens, the changes within one's inner world become increasingly dramatic.

The inner world, which was originally constructed purely from martial arts essence and was relatively "restrained" and "stable," now seemed to be brutally invaded by two extremely aggressive "rules" from the outside world.

The rich, nourishing power representing "life" and the violent, ending power representing "destruction" are like two angry dragons tearing and fighting in the small space of his dantian.

Each collision caused the boundary of the inner world to tremble in a blur. The immature "mountains and rivers" and "sun, moon and stars" that had just been simulated by true essence were easily torn apart and annihilated, but they stubbornly reorganized and sprouted again in the aftershocks of the power of "life".

This was not orderly construction, but a chaotic "baptism of rules." The old "inner world prototype" based on martial arts cognition was ruthlessly washed away and disintegrated. A new underlying structure, which integrated the "laws of birth and death" of this world, was born with difficulty and in fragmentation in the tug-of-war between destruction and rebirth.

The most significant change was that it gained magical powers.

It is no longer simply a product of spiritual energy absorbed and refined from the outside world.

A faint but distinctly different energy began to seep out from the cracks between the "ruins" and the "new land" within his inner world.

This energy possesses both the vitality of "life" and the sharpness of "death," yet it appears stagnant and conflicting because the two are not yet harmonized. Like an untamed wild horse, it rampages through his meridians, bringing a strange sensation of intertwined stinging and tingling.

"The self-generated magic power... though weak and difficult to control, means that my inner world has begun to attempt to 'understand' and 'replicate' the energy generation rules of this world."

Li Feiyu attempted to guide this newly generated, strangely shaped magical power.

It is extremely unruly, and it takes far more effort to mobilize than true essence or ordinary mana, but its power... seems to subtly transcend the realm of Foundation Establishment, though it is extremely unstable, sometimes strong and sometimes weak. Currently, the portion he can reliably mobilize is roughly equivalent to the mana strength of an ordinary mid-Foundation Establishment cultivator.

"Is this the sign that the inner world, based on 'birth and death,' has initially connected with the laws of this world? The magical power is 'generated' on its own in the inner world, but is partially 'destroyed' due to conflicts, making it impossible to form a perfect cycle, hence it is sluggish and difficult to use."

He was not discouraged; on the contrary, his eyes shone even brighter.

"Once the balance of Yin and Yang is achieved, Yin will perish and Yang will generate life, the cycle of life and death will repeat, and Yin and Yang will mutually support each other. At that time, the inner world's magical power will form its own cycle, with a measured cycle of birth and death, inexhaustible and truly a miniature spiritual vein that belongs solely to me and will never run dry!"

"Furthermore, absorb the purity of 'Heaven' and the weight of 'Earth', integrate them into the inner world, and complete the foundation. Once Heaven and Earth are established, Yin and Yang are harmonized, and the cycle of birth and death begins, then the inner world can be considered truly complete, forming a nascent world that follows 'My Way'."

"At that time, I should go into seclusion and cultivate diligently, focusing on comprehending the method of 'orthodox and unorthodox'. I will use orthodoxy to control unorthodoxy and unorthodoxy to assist orthodoxy, to find the way to unify the first six paths and break through the shackles of this world, to seize the laws of heaven and earth, and to achieve my 'external landscape'."

"Once I break through to the outer realm, I will have completed the first step in intercepting the heavenly secrets and principles of this place."

The road ahead is long and arduous, but the direction is clear and the foundation has been laid.

No matter how many difficulties lie ahead, they are nothing more than steps under your feet.

He suppressed all outward aura and thoughts, and the cultivation room returned to silence. Only deep within his inner world, the power of life and death continued to collide and intertwine silently, quietly nurturing a new light that transcended the common sense of this world from the ashes of destruction.
