Hogwarts: A little lion in the skin of the Eagle School
Chapter 87 Reencounter with Sirius
The next day, John and his companions slept until late morning before being woken up by Mrs. Crowe.
Today is the first day of school, and they are taking several children to King's Cross Station to catch the train.
After washing up and having breakfast, they tidied themselves up and then boarded Mr. Crowe's Beetle van to head to the station.
Upon arrival, the group bid farewell to the Crowes and, carrying their luggage, walked together through the pillar entrance of Platform Nine and Three-Quarters.
I saw that red steam train again.
"It's unbelievable, I actually miss school life."
Titus looked at the train and laughed first.
"Titus, this is a serious problem. I suggest you go back to school and see Mrs. Pomfrey for treatment."
Ryan chuckled as he spoke, and John and the others laughed along.
Many people went home for the Christmas holiday, and the train station was once again packed with students and parents returning to school.
"Hey, you guys, long time no see."
Just then, a voice that was both unfamiliar and slightly familiar rang out behind them.
They all turned around.
It turned out that standing behind him was none other than Sirius Black.
He was dressed in a bespoke suit, and his hair and beard were all styled; he looked very presentable.
"Well......"
They were all taken aback when they saw him.
Surprisingly, Sirius Black took the initiative to talk to them.
Their faces showed embarrassment and distance; they didn't know how to greet Sirius.
Or perhaps they're simply not familiar with each other and there's no need for them to greet each other.
Sirius understood their thoughts and smiled helplessly.
But he still spoke to them very sincerely again.
"I wanted to apologize to you guys last time, but none of you came to see me."
"I'm sorry for causing you to misunderstand. Becoming a black dog and infiltrating Hogwarts was a last resort."
"I really hope this doesn't leave you with any lingering trauma."
"At the same time, I want to thank you all for your help back then, especially you, John, thank you so much."
Sirius spoke to the group very seriously, his attitude extremely polite.
He was completely different from the last time they saw him, when he was furious and berserk in the Great Hall of Hogwarts.
"No need to thank me, Mr. Black. I didn't do anything. You should thank Professor Lupin."
John simply smiled and said calmly.
Sirius shook his head helplessly at John's address.
He actually preferred the nickname "Little Black" that he used to be called.
"Okay, it's fine."
"Anyway, it's a pleasure to meet you all."
"If you need any help in the future, feel free to contact me anytime, or ask Harry to relay the message to me."
Sirius smiled politely at the group, left a contact address, and then turned and left.
He probably just happened to be giving Harry a ride and happened to run into them, so he chatted for a while.
John glanced at the address: 10 Privet Road, Little Huigkin, Surrey.
However, it says that this is only a temporary address, and you can contact Harry if you change it later.
John casually slipped the slip of paper with the address to Titus.
"Look, if Uncle wants to catch up with Sirius Black, he can go here to find him."
Titus took the note, glanced at it, and showed no interest.
John is right, though. I'll include that next time I send a letter home.
Maybe Dad really wants to go and catch up with Sirius?
......
Afterwards, the group boarded the train and encountered no further incidents on their way to the school.
After getting off the bus, unlike their first arrival at Hogwarts, they were reborn by boat across the Black Lake.
Now they don't need to; they can go directly by horse-drawn carriage.
Following the flow of people, they arrived at the boarding point for the carriages.
John could see from afar that the carriages were being pulled by a skinny, black horse with bat wings and no fur.
"What is that thing?"
John pointed to the bat-horse and asked Titus and the others.
"What? You mean a horse-drawn carriage?"
"No, I meant the black horse pulling the carriage in front."
The group looked over, but the area in front of the carriage was empty; there was no sign of the black horse.
"Hogwarts carriages all drive themselves, so where would you find a black horse?"
Ryan said, somewhat puzzled.
"?"
John was taken aback.
Such a huge dark horse, can't you see it?
"That's a Thestral."
At that moment, a familiar, ethereal voice rang out.
The group turned around and saw that it was Luna, their senior.
Luna smiled at the group, which was her way of greeting them.
Finally, he looked at John.
"The fact that you can see the Thestrals proves that you have witnessed death and understood its meaning."
Luna stood beside John, looking at Yeqi who was pulling the carriage, and said in a light tone.
"Thestrals? Luna, you mean, that carriage was really pulled by Thestrals?"
At this moment, Titus finally realized what was happening and exclaimed in surprise.
"uh-huh."
Luna nodded, a faint smile remaining on her lips.
"So what exactly is that?"
John asked, somewhat puzzled.
John was completely bewildered by the question of witnessing death and understanding its meaning.
"Thestrals are extremely rare magical creatures, and before being domesticated, they are highly dangerous, classified as XXXX-level dangerous animals by the Ministry of Magic."
"At the same time, it also has a very unique characteristic, that is, only people who have witnessed death can see them."
"Therefore, they are often considered to be ominous signs or omens of death."
After hearing Titus's words, John understood more or less.
It turns out that not everyone can see it.
Have you ever witnessed death and understood its meaning...?
John paused for a moment.
Titus also kept silent, realizing that since John could see the Thestrals, it meant that someone had died before his eyes. They didn't know who that person was, but dared not speak carelessly.
If someone can make him understand the meaning of death, then they are definitely not some insignificant passerby.
However, John didn't change at all; he remained the same as always.
"I see. Looks like I need to brush up on my knowledge of Fantastic Beasts."
John nodded and muttered to himself.
The group breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing John's expression and stopped discussing the topic.
The same goes for Luna; they didn't ask about Luna's senior either, and each of them tactfully started talking about other things.
Afterwards, the group rode in the same carriage to Hogwarts Castle.
