Hogwarts: A little lion in the skin of the Eagle School
Chapter 436 Let's Write Our Story
The next day.
The two woke up together in their warm bed.
The morning felt especially lazy and wonderful, spent with my loved one during the holiday.
Hermione rolled over, buried her face in John's shoulder, and mumbled indistinctly, "What time is it..."
"If I'm not mistaken, it should be dawn."
A soft, amused hum came from Hermione's arms.
"nonsense."
John chuckled softly, tightened his grip on her, and pulled her closer to him.
"Sleep a little longer? I don't have any plans for today anyway." Hermione snuggled against him, like a lazy cat.
"Hmm...but I'm hungry..."
Hearing Hermione's words, John said softly, "Then I'll go make breakfast, you can stay a little longer."
Hermione shook her head, wrapping her arms around his waist to prevent him from getting up: "No, just five more minutes... just five minutes."
John smiled helplessly, letting her cling to him like a koala.
After dawdling for almost twenty minutes, the two finally got out of bed.
In the end, they decided not to prepare their own breakfast, but instead to try some local specialties in a nearby town.
After breakfast, Hermione regained her energy and dragged John to the nearby ski resort.
The ski resort wasn't crowded, but it wasn't empty either; most of the people there were families or couples taking advantage of the Christmas holidays.
Hermione looked incredibly excited after changing into her ski gear.
John had never skied before, but fortunately, with Hermione as his "little teacher," the two had a great time on the beginner slopes.
Of course, this doesn't include the part where John rolls all the way down the mountain, and Hermione laughs so hard she can't stand up straight.
In the afternoon, they returned to the cabin to rest.
When the sun had already set by 3 p.m., the two of them put on thick coats and went to town again to stroll through the Christmas market.
In the evenings, they would light the fireplace in the cabin, snuggle on the sofa, drink hot cocoa, watch the snowflakes falling outside the window, and chat about trivial matters.
The next day, they went to the nearby frozen lake.
The lake was frozen solid, and Hermione carefully stepped onto it, only gliding on it boldly after confirming it was safe.
John, taking advantage of the fact that no one was around, secretly cut a hole in the ice and started fishing on it.
Hermione returned from her lap and saw John squatting by the ice cave, clutching a makeshift fishing rod. She couldn't help but laugh.
"Couldn't you have used a slightly more decent fishing rod? Why did you have to use a stick you picked up off the street as a fishing rod?"
"What do you know? This is called a natural experience."
John actually caught a fish in the end.
Hermione's eyes lit up, and she simply started a fire on the spot to grill the fish.
The poor little fish became their after-dinner snack.
On the afternoon of the third day, they went hiking together again.
The mountain wasn't high, but after being covered in snow, every step made a crunching sound.
Along the way, they could see rabbit tracks. Hermione excitedly pulled John to follow the tracks, and finally found a nest of baby rabbits under a pine tree.
In winter, the little rabbits curl up into a ball, fluffy like snowballs.
Hermione: "They're so cute!"
John: "Yes, it has a unique charm..."
Hermione: "???"
By the time they reached the mountaintop, it was already night.
It was the clearest time of night, without a single cloud, and the stars were like shattered diamonds scattered across the entire sky.
Looking into the distance, the lights of the town twinkled in the snow, like another inverted starry sky.
The cold wind howled past her ears, and Hermione couldn't help but open her arms wide and shout at the top of her lungs on the mountaintop.
"Ah—!" Her voice echoed through the valley.
John also shouted, but with the same sense of exhilaration.
The two stood side by side on the mountaintop, looking down at the snow-covered world below, and suddenly felt that all their troubles had become insignificant.
After that, they returned to the cabin.
They spent the most leisurely days in the town, skiing, fishing, and hiking. Each activity was simple yet unforgettable.
Of course, at most they would snuggle up in front of the fireplace, wrapped in thick wool blankets, drinking hot cocoa and chatting, or say nothing at all, just quietly listening to the crackling of the firewood, snuggling together.
at last.
After living here for a week.
It's the season when the aurora usually appears.
Late that night, John and Hermione, bundled up in thick down jackets, sat on the wooden terrace outside the cabin, gazing up at the darkening sky.
Below the terrace was a row of snowmen they had built, though they were crooked and uneven.
But at this moment, they are like a group of loyal guards, protecting this night that belongs to them.
"Look over there!" Hermione suddenly grabbed John's arm excitedly and pointed to the sky.
A pale green band of light quietly appeared in the deep night sky, like a fairy's veil, slowly dancing and changing.
Immediately afterwards, more light bands appeared.
For a moment, even the brilliant Milky Way paled in comparison.
Hermione sprinted towards the snow-covered ground under the aurora borealis, looking up at the dazzling curtain of light.
"So beautiful..." she murmured to herself, her voice filled with genuine amazement.
John followed her at a leisurely pace, watching her twirl around in the snow like a child, gazing up at the shimmering, colorful sky.
The smile on her lips was impossible to hide.
He realized that this might be the perfect opportunity.
Then, John slowly took out a small box that he had prepared beforehand from his pocket.
He slowly approached Hermione from behind.
Hermione.
He called her name softly.
Hermione turned around, her eyes still reflecting the dazzling light.
She wanted to ask John what was wrong, but when she saw John's serious expression, she swallowed the words back.
As if knowing what was about to happen, my heart started racing uncontrollably.
John slowly lowered himself and knelt on one knee in the snow.
Hermione's eyes slowly opened, radiating a light more dazzling than the aurora borealis.
John held up the delicate little box in his hand and gently opened it.
A silver ring lay quietly on the velvet, its face set with a small diamond that shimmered gently in the aurora borealis.
"Never before have I so desperately wanted the courage of Gryffindor to propose to you..."
John's voice trembled slightly, but his eyes were unusually firm.
"Hermione, our story began at Hogwarts and has now spanned countless sunrises and sunsets."
"You are the smartest, bravest, and kindest witch I have ever met, and the person I want to protect most in my life."
"I also want to spend the rest of my life writing more stories that belong to us."
"So—" John took a deep breath, his gaze fixed intently on Hermione's tear-filled eyes.
"My dearest Hermione Granger, will you marry me?"
"Let's finish writing the rest of the story together."
Hermione's tears finally welled up and slid down her cheeks, shimmering in the aurora.
"I do." Hermione's voice was choked with emotion, yet incredibly clear.
Under the aurora, she stretched out her slightly trembling left hand.
John gently placed the ring on her ring finger.
He had just stood up when Hermione threw herself into his arms.
John hugged her tightly, and neither of them said a word.
Under the magnificent aurora borealis, they embraced for a very long time.
