Summer vacation has arrived as scheduled.

Of course, this is a benefit for students.

Our newly promoted Hermione, the star of the Ministry of Magic, doesn't get a summer vacation.

She still has to get up early every day to go to the Ministry of Magic to deal with mountains of paperwork and all sorts of tricky cases.

Although she seemed to be enjoying it...

After a year of work, Hermione has fully adapted to the work rhythm of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and has even begun to take on some challenging cases.

John would sometimes pick her up from the Ministry of Magic after get off work, and also to see her work environment.

Every time she goes, Hermione gets teased by her colleagues.

For example, right now.

"Hey, Hermione, your man's here to pick you up again?" a middle-aged witch teased with a smile.

Hermione's cheeks flushed slightly, but she still managed to remain calm as she replied, "He just happened to be passing by today..."

"Got it, got it, it's an after-get off work date, we all know." The witch winked, and her colleagues around her laughed.

Hermione felt a little embarrassed by what she was being told, so she quickened her packing and pulled John away from the office.

"They're always like that."

Hermione muttered to herself, while John smiled.

"They're not wrong, I really did come to pick you up for your date."

"Hmph, you certainly know how to take advantage of a situation." Hermione said reproachfully, but the corners of her mouth couldn't help but turn up slightly.

The two walked side by side toward the elevator, and Hermione's hand naturally linked with John's arm.

"Huh? John, here to pick up Hermione again?"

They also met Harry and Ron in the elevator, and Harry greeted them first.

"Yeah, you don't have to work today?" John nodded at them.

The Auror's office was right next door; Harry and Ron had just come out of it.

Now, after a year as Aurors, Harry and Ron have developed a more capable demeanor and are no longer the naive young men they were when they first graduated.

"It's my day off today, and I'm about to go grab a drink."

Ron put one arm around Harry's shoulder and made a drinking gesture with the other.

"Do you want to come along?" Harry asked the two of them.

"No, there's nothing good to drink with two grown men like you. I'd rather drink with my Hermione."

John refused without even thinking.

These words left Harry and Ron speechless.

We were comrades-in-arms, after all.

Are they really unwilling to even pretend?

"Fine, fine, you two go be lovey-dovey." Ron rolled his eyes, grabbed Harry, and pulled him away. "We're not going to be third wheels."

Harry waved helplessly at the two of them and said, "We'll be going now, see you tomorrow."

Hermione waved to them and watched them disappear at the end of the corridor.

"They're getting more and more in sync," Hermione said softly, her tone tinged with satisfaction.

It feels like a mother watching her child grow up.

John chuckled and replied, "I think we have great chemistry too, don't I?"

"Nonsense." Hermione rolled her eyes at him but didn't refute him.

After leaving the Ministry of Magic.

John took Hermione to a newly opened French restaurant in London's West End.

The restaurant is elegantly decorated, and soothing piano music flows through the air.

Hermione looked at John with some surprise.

"Why did you suddenly bring me to a place like this?"

After they started living together, they would occasionally go out on dates like this, but they usually went to casual little restaurants.

Then we'll wander around some interesting places, and finally go home together.

This is the first time I've ever been to a restaurant as formal as this one.

"Hmm... I was just thinking that after taking you to so many hole-in-the-wall restaurants, it's time to try something different."

Hermione chuckled as she listened to John's explanation.

"So you're not all love-struck after all, you know to bring me to a place like this."

"Ahem... What are you saying..."

John awkwardly touched his nose.

I've really been rough around the edges with Hermione lately.

I never took her to experience any worldly romance.

Hermione smiled and stopped teasing him, instead turning to the menu.

Her gaze swept over the exquisite French menu items, and she paused for a moment, but then she gave John amusement and didn't order immediately.

French was no problem for her, but she felt that John probably just wanted to show off.

So the opportunity was given to John.

But she was overthinking it.

John was looking at the menu, feeling completely overwhelmed.

He had never studied French at all. Although French and English are related in terms of language family, the technical vocabulary on the menu still left him completely clueless.

No, what kind of restaurant is this? Don't they know this is England?

There wasn't even an English description on the menu.

But even though he'd never eaten pork, John had seen pigs run, and he knew that this was what was called "high-end."

Bringing Hermione without doing any research is my fault...

"Um...you order for me..." John chuckled awkwardly, closed the menu, and looked at Hermione.

Hermione was taken aback again upon hearing this.

It took me a while to realize that I had misunderstood something.

Then I couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"Pfft... I thought you recently learned French and brought me here to show off... Haha..."

Seeing Hermione laughing so hard she was doubled over, John's face turned even redder, and he wished he could disappear into a crack in the ground.

"Stop... laughing..."

John said through gritted teeth in a low voice.

The waiter standing nearby was politely trying to suppress a laugh, his jaw clenched.

"Okay, okay, I won't laugh anymore."

After finally finishing laughing, Hermione wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes and picked up the menu.

After calling the waiter, I fluently ordered several dishes and even exchanged a few words with him in French.

Hermione was dressed in a business suit, her slightly wavy long hair simply tucked behind her ears, and fluent French flowed from her lips with a composed elegance.

She was as confident and charming as ever.

John looked at her, momentarily captivated and dazed.

Even if he becomes a great hero who saves the magical world and becomes a success in the worldly sense.

But in front of her, I still feel like a clueless kid, completely at a loss.

Hermione herself has never stopped moving forward.

She continues to grow in her own way, quietly honing her own brilliance in those corners he can't see.

She was so outstanding that even he, the "great hero," sometimes felt ashamed of himself.

"Stop daydreaming, dear Mr. Merrick, how would you like your steak cooked?"

At this moment, Hermione looked at the stunned John and asked with a mischievous smile in her eyes.

John snapped out of his daze and blurted out, "Uh...well cooked...?"

"Well-done?" Hermione raised an eyebrow, a hint of teasing in her voice. "Ordering well-done steak at a French restaurant, are you sure you're not just provoking the chef?"

Hermione then turned to the waiter and added a few more words in fluent English. The waiter nodded and turned to leave.

"I ordered it medium-well for you. It's not that I'm looking for any kind of ritual or fancy stuff, but well-done steak is just too tough, tough and chewy."

John understood all of this, of course, but he had been thinking about Hermione the whole time, so he had a momentary lapse of judgment.

Now, hearing Hermione so calmly and easily come to his rescue, he felt a surge of warmth in his heart.

Hermione, meanwhile, rested her chin on her hand, looking at John with gentle eyes.

"You're still the same as ever, doing whatever comes to mind."

"You came without doing any research, didn't you? You were the one who treated me to dinner, but I ended up having to order for you."

John was speechless after hearing her string of words.

However, he immediately put on a smug and satisfied smile and teased Hermione in return.

"That's because you're by my side that I can be so willful and reckless."

"You are my greatest support, don't you think?"

"My dear Miss Know-It-All~"

Hermione, upon hearing this, did not show any embarrassment or anger as she had before.

Instead, a smile spread across her face, softening John's entire world.

"Hmm~ Of course~"
