Hogwarts: A little lion in the skin of the Eagle School

Chapter 38 The Three Great Illusions of Life, Part 1

John and Hermione had been chatting for a while when they heard a noise not far away.

Titus was trying to push Ryan and Ethan out, muttering something under his breath.

"What's wrong with your friend?"

Hermione asked, somewhat puzzled.

John was also puzzled, but he quickly realized what was going on.

"Oh right, we were saying we were going to see Quidditch together."

John slapped his forehead and said apologetically to Hermione.

"Sorry, Hermione, they probably can't wait any longer, I have to go now."

"It's alright, you go quickly, they're all leaving you behind."

Hermione chuckled and waved her hand dismissively.

John then waved goodbye and turned to chase after Titus.

Titus, on the other side, was also taken aback when he saw John abandon his senior and run towards them.

As soon as John approached, he immediately asked.

"What brings you here?"

"Huh? Shouldn't I have come? Weren't we supposed to go see Quidditch together?"

John, who had just stopped, was also taken aback.

Titus, exasperated, slapped his forehead.

I even dragged those two idiots away for you, just so I wouldn't bother you and your senior.

So what kind of brotherly affection are you putting on?

However, John did not understand Titus's behavior and instead turned to introduce Hermione, who was not far away, to the others.

"By the way, that's Hermione, the Gryffindor senior I knew before. I'm so grateful to her for helping me get Professor McGonagall here, otherwise it wouldn't have been so easy to solve."

Hermione saw John seemingly introducing himself to his friends, so she simply waved to acknowledge him.

She had just withdrawn her hand when...

"Hello, Hermione!"

The group of people over there all greeted Hermione loudly in unison.

Hermione's shoulders trembled involuntarily, startled by the sudden chorus of greetings.

"Hello...you guys."

Although they couldn't hear Hermione's weak voice, they saw her nod in response.

Without lingering any longer, he waved to her and they left the Great Hall together, heading towards the Quidditch pitch.

Hermione was left standing there dumbfounded, but she immediately felt a little embarrassed because many people had noticed them because of her shout.

It made her feel quite embarrassed.

She seems like some kind of gang leader's wife.

They quickly returned to the Gryffindor table.

Harry chuckled and handed her a glass of juice, asking her curiously as he did so.

"Hermione, when did you meet that John?"

"Last week."

"Right now..."

Hermione took the juice from Harry and replied without hesitation.

Just as I was about to mention the day they met, I remembered that it was the day she and Ron had a fight.

He immediately glanced at Ron across the table and found that Ron seemed completely unconcerned, tilting his head to drink his juice.

They argued that day and neither of them would back down. The argument ended when Hermione chased after Crookshanks after Crookshanks.

But they've been in a cold war ever since, and neither of them speaks to the other.

In addition, she has been using the time converter every day during this period, taking four elective courses in two shifts at the same time, which has left her mentally exhausted.

This made Hermione feel terrible every day.

Aside from meeting John at the library a few days ago, spending time with John made her feel relaxed for the first time in a long time, and she temporarily forgot her troubles.

Harry noticed Hermione's sudden lapse in concentration and called out in surprise.

"Hermione?"

"Oh, it's nothing. I need to talk to Professor McGonagall, so I'll be going now."

Hermione snapped out of her reverie and suddenly didn't want to say anything more.

He got up and left without even drinking the juice.

"Looking for Professor McGonagall? Why didn't you go and talk to the professor when she came here?"

Harry watched Hermione's hurried departure, scratched his head in confusion, and muttered to himself.

Ron glanced back at Hermione's departing figure, then turned his head back to silently drink his juice.

......

On the way to Quidditch, Titus and the others asked John how he and that senior girl met, their tone tinged with teasing.

An 11-year-old boy may not know what love is, but he does have some understanding of romantic relationships.

They may develop feelings for someone of the opposite sex at any time, but at this time they will often pretend not to admit it.

However, they also don't know what one of the three great illusions of life is: that she likes me.

They often mistake a girl's kindness for affection, and they start to wonder if the girl likes them.

That's how John is perceived by them now.

That Hermione, who went to call for help for John, must be more than just a friend. Could it be that she likes John?

However, John remained clear-headed.

Hermione only went to Professor Flitwick because her junior brother was in trouble; Luna would have done the same.

So don't be too presumptuous, or you won't even be able to remain friends.

When they arrived at the Quidditch pitch, Ravenclaw's practice match began.

They then stopped holding onto John and turned to look at Quidditch.

John had just found a place to sit down when Luna came up to him.

"Good morning, John. You've arrived right on time this time."

The wind was strong at the Quidditch pitch, making Luna's hair flutter constantly.

Luna walked over to John and said with a smile.

"Yeah, Sister Luna, they've been keeping track of the practice match for days now."

John smiled and agreed, patting the seat next to him, gesturing for Luna to sit down and watch.

John wasn't surprised by Luna's appearance, because he had discovered last week that Luna, like Ryan and the others, was a hardcore Quidditch fan.

Their understanding of Quidditch is no less than theirs.

"I heard there was a disturbance in the auditorium just now, it's related to our college, do you know what happened?"

At that moment, Luna suddenly asked a question.

Luna wasn't in the auditorium at the time, so she didn't know what had happened. She only learned about the disturbance from the other students around her.

"Of course, in fact, we were the main protagonists of this riot."

John scratched his head and smiled sheepishly.

Upon hearing this, Luna also became unusually curious.

"Actually, it's like this..."

After John finished recounting the events with embellishments, Luna blinked curiously.

"You mean, you fought Professor Snape for three hundred rounds without losing, and then you got someone to bring in Professor McGonagall to back you up?"

John nodded seriously.

"John is really amazing."

Luna not only showed no intention of exposing John's scheme, but instead smiled and praised him.

"Oh, not at all, hahaha."

John waved his hand dismissively, then burst into laughter.

Just then, a disgusted voice came from behind.

"shameless..."

"Um?"

John was startled by the sound and turned around to see Hermione standing behind them.

Judging from her disdainful look, you could tell she had just listened to John's entire bragging session.

"Uh... Hermione..."

John shrank back and called out sheepishly.

Hermione crossed her arms, gave a cold snort, and then sat down on the other side of John.

She didn't have anything to do anyway. She chatted with Harry for a bit in the Great Hall, then decided to leave without saying anything more.

But that was just an excuse; after leaving, they didn't know what to do.

Remembering that John said he wanted to see Quidditch, I thought I'd come and see it too.

As soon as I stepped into the audience, I saw John chatting with a blonde girl.

Before he could even say hello, John came over and started bragging to the girl.

Hermione sat down without saying a word.

"Ahem, Luna, this is Hermione, the one I just mentioned who helped me find a professor to save the day."

Seeing that the atmosphere had suddenly turned cold, John took the initiative to introduce Hermione to Luna.

"Uh, Hermione, this is my senior from Ravenclaw, Luna. She's helped me a lot since the start of the semester."

Hermione looked at Luna and nodded to her. She actually knew Luna, the famously crazy girl from Ravenclaw.

But John seemed to treat her with great respect. Could there be some misunderstanding behind the nickname "crazy girl"?

Luna also looked at Hermione and gave her a faint smile, as always.

Both of them were easy to talk to and liked Quidditch, so they got along very well.
