"I almost... died here..."

Titus said, lying on the lawn, panting.

"Ouch, that branch hit my face! Look at my face now!"

Ethan covered his face and grimaced in pain as he spoke.

"It's nothing, but you'll probably have a red mark for the next few days."

John glanced at it, then waved his hand dismissively.

"This place... isn't as safe as people say..."

Ryan complained between breaths.

John recalled what Professor Snape had said during his home visit before the start of the semester: as long as you don't cause trouble everywhere like some idiots, you're safe...

"Perhaps, except for those who court death?"

"..."

The group fell silent. They knew they couldn't go to the secret passage for the time being. The Man-Beating Willow stood there like a wild boss; if they couldn't beat it, they couldn't get in.

You either need to use a powerful brick to fly over it, or find the mechanism behind the "hitting willow".

Obviously, none of these are things they can do right now.

Fortunately, there weren't many people wandering around the school today, so no one saw what happened and they didn't have to be punished by the professor.

However, the grand plan to unlock the new map was cut short by the sudden death of the man-beating willow.

"Let's go back to the castle first; we haven't fully explored that place yet."

John didn't care. In the game, you had to reach a certain level to explore the map, and it was pretty much the same in real life. You either had to spend money or you had to use your fists.

We can explore the areas ahead later.

......

John and his companions returned to the castle via the wooden bridge corridor. They had no destination in mind and were just wandering around aimlessly.

I instinctively went up to higher ground.

I just stepped onto a tower.

Whoosh whoosh!

A few whooshing sounds came through the window.

Following the sound, they looked out the window.

"Look, it looks like the school team is practicing at the Quidditch pitch today."

"Judging by the uniform, it's Gryffindor."

Ryan watched as several people in red team uniforms rode flying brooms away, and immediately said excitedly.

Of the four of them, apart from John, the other three were all avid Quidditch fans.

That's why they were so excited when the Quidditch captain from the Eagle School invited John.

"The plan has changed."

"Let's go check out the Quidditch pitch."

Ryan said decisively.

Ethan and Titus both nodded, then looked at John at the same time.

"Three votes in favor, John. You have no right to refuse."

Before John could even speak, Ryan and Ethan grabbed his arms and started walking downstairs.

"Fine, I'll go then. It's not like I disagree. Just put me down."

John, who was being held up by the two men, could only struggle helplessly and submitted to their decision.

The Quidditch pitch was built on a large open space outside the castle. The pitch was oval-shaped and surrounded by raised stands for students to watch the games.

Today was just a normal Quidditch practice, so not many people came to watch.

They were either interested in Quidditch or were from other houses scouting for enemy positions.

John and his friends went up the stairs to the stands, where they could clearly see the entire stadium.

Ryan and his friends excitedly discussed some technical terms that John couldn't understand.

John didn't know much about Quidditch, so he had no idea what they were talking about.

All I know is that there are three types of balls and four types of players on the field.

Quake, the Wandering Ball, the Golden Snitch.

Three chasers, two batters, one goalie, and one seeker.

If we use soccer as an analogy, the Quaffle is like a soccer ball, the most ordinary ball, and it's the responsibility of the chaser. As long as the Quaffle is thrown into the opponent's goal, 10 points can be scored.

There are two wandering balls in total. They are enchanted balls that will dart around the court, interfering with players and even attacking them.

At this point, the batter needs to block those obstructing balls, or use the bat to hit the balls at the opposing player to attack the opponent.

This is also the only permitted method of attack in Quidditch.

The Golden Snitch, on the other hand, is a tiny golden ball, no bigger than an eyeball, and it was the key to victory or defeat in the entire match.

A match can only end when both captains agree, or when one side catches the Golden Snitch.

The team whose chaser catches the Golden Snitch first will score 150 points.

However, catching the Golden Snitch doesn't guarantee victory. If Team A is already leading by 160 points, then even if Team B catches the Golden Snitch, but their score is lower than Team A's, Team A will still win.

The game is over once the Seeker catches the Golden Snitch.

John wasn't interested at first, but after watching for a while, he thought it wasn't bad.

Watching the players whiz past in twos and threes, using tactics to coordinate with each other, is quite a sight to behold.

It's much more enjoyable than watching the Chinese national football team.

"Hi, John."

Suddenly, a familiar voice came from beside him, and John turned around.

"Sister Luna, you're here too."

Upon seeing that it was Luna, John immediately smiled and said...

"Hmm, I arrived earlier, so I saw you guys coming up."

Luna sat down next to John and spoke slowly.

When they arrived, they didn't wander around the audience seats; instead, they found a place to sit down nearby.

Unlike Ryan and his group, they simply lay down at the edge of the audience seats to watch.

John was sitting alone in the back, so Luna only greeted John, and the three of them didn't even notice Luna's arrival.

After Luna sat down, she continued chatting with John.

"John, do you like Quidditch too?"

"No, I was dragged here by the three of them."

John pointed at the three clowns in front of him, shrugged, and smiled helplessly.

"Isn't this a good opportunity? Maybe you can take this chance to learn about the sport?"

Luna sat next to John, looking towards the stadium and smiling.

John didn't refute this, since he was already there.

"Look, Harry Potter is about to catch the Golden Snitch."

Luna looked up at the high point of the court, where two figures were chasing each other, seemingly trying to catch a fast-moving golden point.

One of them was Harry. To be honest, if Luna hadn't pointed it out, he wouldn't have recognized him at all, since he was so far away.

"How do you know? It seems like Harry Potter can't fly as fast as the other person."

"intuition."

Luna smiled faintly, offering no further explanation.

John also stared curiously at the two ball chasers in the sky, wondering if it was really as Luna had said.

Just then, a cry of surprise rang out.

"careful!!"

A batter made a mistake while hitting the wandering ball with his bat, and a huge iron ball came straight at Luna and John.

Their attention was focused on the golden thief high in the sky at that moment, so they didn't notice the situation immediately.

When the exclamation came, the two realized that the roaming ball was already rushing towards them.

Almost instinctively, John lunged to his side, pinning Luna down and shielding her beneath him.

boom! !
