"By the way, John, why weren't you at the department back then?"

"How are the Dementors in the western suburbs doing, and the Death Eaters in the city?"

"Don't worry, Aurors, and everyone from the Order of the Phoenix has gone to help."

"They were just bait. Now that Voldemort has retreated, they must have already scattered like birds and beasts."

He was also granted the right to cast spells outside of school and an Apparition license for his heroic actions in fighting against Death Eaters and Voldemort.

After Mei Mei had eaten, John took his parents home and left a warning spell on the Grangers' house before leaving.

He also left a warning spell in his own home.

Let him investigate whether there's any potential in trigger-type door keys. If there is, then there's no need to go through all this trouble to create a warning spell.
