Hogwarts: A little lion in the skin of the Eagle School
Chapter 1 Flying Cars?
(Brain storage area)
11:9 AM, September 1, 1992.
I think I must be sick, otherwise how could I have seen a car flying in the sky...?
King's Cross Station was very busy today, perhaps because of the start of the school season?
Many parents brought their children into the station and then came out alone, presumably to take their children to a boarding school.
Having lived a second life, I'm naturally not surprised by this kind of thing.
What truly baffled John was that he actually saw a light blue Ford sedan fly into the air in broad daylight and then disappear behind the clock tower of the station.
John, standing by the window, rubbed his temples, feeling a bit of a headache. Had he been watching too much TV lately? He was having more and more of these hallucinations.
Last time, he saw someone suddenly appear out of thin air on the street, but the passersby seemed not to have seen them at all.
Another time, two people dressed in strange clothes were seen passing through a wall and disappearing into the street, and no one noticed this eerie scene.
With today's events, John is even more convinced that he is probably sick.
John Merrick, that is his name in this life.
In his previous life, he was just an ordinary office worker who, on his way to work one morning, faced a hundred-ton king in order to save a child.
Despite their best efforts, they were unable to defeat it.
In the blink of an eye, we were in late 20th-century Britain.
At first, he had fantasized and hoped that it might be some kind of different parallel universe, but after ten years of exploration, he found that this world seemed to be no different from his previous life.
In addition to the hallucinations that have been occurring frequently lately, he has also been feeling something churning inside his body.
But he held it in, because he always felt that if he didn't, something terrible would happen.
Just as John was reminiscing, the sound of the door opening rang out; his parents had returned home.
His father was an engineer and his mother was a nurse. Their family was considered very well-off for that era; otherwise, they wouldn't have been able to buy a house near King's Cross Station.
They were all supposed to work today, but because of John's schooling, they all took the day off and went to the private school in London where he used to study.
"I'm sorry, John, your parents spoke with the school leaders... but they still don't agree to rescind your suspension."
Mrs. Merrick went to her son's side, patted his head, and said apologetically.
"I already said, instead of letting John go back to that kind of school, we should transfer him to another one, even if it's a bit further away."
John's father, Mr. Merrick, loosened his tie as he entered and said in an annoyed tone.
Of course, his temper wasn't directed at John and his mother, but rather at their experience that morning.
As mentioned before, this world is no different from the previous one, including the fact that things like school bullying are still very common.
John was originally studying diligently, hoping that he would no longer have to be a corporate slave in this life and could make money as soon as possible to seize future opportunities.
Unfortunately, he was too honest, and some people thought he was easy to bully and wanted to find a sense of self-worth in him.
As a result, John was cornered in the toilet by the school bully, and then John turned around and pushed the bully into the latrine to wash his face.
There were quite a few onlookers at the time, which quickly attracted the attention of school teachers and leaders.
But that wasn't enough to warrant John being suspended from school. The real reason John was suspended was...
It's because the principal is related to the school bully, and he protected the bully while falsely accusing John of being the bully.
Because John's behavior at the time did indeed resemble bullying a classmate...
Then, John received the "gift" of being suspended from school.
However, the eyes of the masses are discerning, and many students defended John, collectively reporting the principal for abusing his power for personal gain.
Although the principal was later suspended by the school board for investigation, John's attack on his classmates was an indisputable fact, and even his parents' efforts to persuade the school board could not change his fate of being suspended from school.
Today is the first day of the new school term, and they went to the school early this morning for this very reason, but they still didn't get a response. That's why Mr. Merrick came back with a resentful expression.
"John wasn't the one who made the mistake, so why should he be punished? They've gone too far! I'm going to sue them!"
Mrs. Merrick also said indignantly that after learning that John was being bullied by the school, she naturally stood firmly on John's side.
It wasn't that she thought the school was particularly good; she simply felt that being suspended from school like this was too unfair.
She was very upset because her child was the one who was punished, even though it wasn't her own child who was at fault.
"It's okay, Mom. There's no point in arguing with them. You don't need to talk to the school leaders on my behalf anymore."
John took his mother's hand and comforted her in return.
"It's okay, John! Your parents will figure out a way to help you with your studies. You can rest for a while longer. Back in the day, your dad was actually hoping not to have to study."
Mr. Merrick was very pleased to see that his son was so sensible, and he put his hand on John's shoulder and smiled.
John was very sensible from a young age, and his parents never had to worry about him. He was an excellent student and the kind of child that everyone in the neighborhood talked about.
He also fully supported John's actions in fighting back against the bullies, saying that this is what a real man should do.
"By the way, John, were you in the room the whole time? Did you see that car fly up at the station outside the window?"
"Your mother keeps saying I'm just seeing things because I'm so angry, but how could that be? My eyes are like rulers; I could draw the exact shape of that car!"
Mr. Merrick didn't want to talk about these unpleasant things anymore, so he asked his son about the strange sight he had just witnessed.
When he got back, he saw a light blue car fly up downstairs, but it disappeared in the blink of an eye. His wife didn't believe him.
Now he's asking his son if he saw it.
"what?"
John was stunned when he heard this. Was his dad hallucinating too?
That doesn't make sense either; there's no such thing as an identical hallucination.
"I told you it was impossible. No car can fly. You must be seeing things."
Seeing John's reaction, Mrs. Merrick realized that he didn't believe her either. She tapped Mr. Merrick's forehead with her finger and began to complain about her irresponsible husband.
Mr. Merrick scratched his head and muttered, "Impossible, I couldn't be mistaken..."
"Dad, is the car you saw a Ford?"
John asked a question, just to give it a try.
Upon hearing John's question, Mr. Merrick frowned, thought for a moment, and then his eyes widened immediately: "Yes! It's the Ford Anglia 105E! John, you really saw it too! I knew I wasn't mistaken!"
Mr. Merrick immediately recognized the car model based on John's clue.
And the son saw it too, which proves he wasn't mistaken; a car really did fly, it's unbelievable.
John also lowered his head and frowned. Even his father saw the flying car, so this must not be a hallucination.
Were those things he saw before also not hallucinations?
"Could it be some kind of car-shaped balloon? A car flying is just unrealistic."
Seeing that her son had also seen it, Mrs. Merrick still didn't quite believe that a car could fly and suggested other possibilities.
However, John felt it couldn't be fake.
He saw two figures inside the car when it wobbled and flew up. He couldn't see them clearly because they were too far away, but there were definitely people inside the car.
Surely we're not filming a movie?
Mr. Merrick, however, was less certain, because he only saw it once; the car sped past the station clock tower and disappeared, and it did look like a balloon floating around.
The mother was too lazy to argue with the father, who was full of fantasies, and said she was going to prepare lunch. The father didn't think much of it either; in fact, it didn't matter whether it was true or not.
If someone really invented a flying car, the whole world will know sooner or later; if it's just a mistake, then it doesn't matter at all.
We thought the matter was over and the family was ready to enjoy this rare holiday together.
But not long after they finished lunch, someone knocked on their door.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Merrick. We are from the Department of Magical Accidents and Disasters, Ministry of Magic, UK."
