Esoteric Buddhism: To live as king in America
Chapter 101 Coleman
The shattered glass immediately drew the attention of everyone in the lobby.
Miss Crawford turned pale with fright at the sudden commotion, while the rich second-generation froze on the spot.
Clearly, he didn't want to cause such a big conflict, but Mian wouldn't let him off the hook.
"Hey, what do you mean by that?"
Mian, her face full of anger, grabbed the rich kid's wrist.
"Even if you have a problem with it, is smashing my water glass an attempt to tarnish my honor?"
Mian increased the pressure on his hand, and with those words, the rich kid's face immediately contorted into a ferocious expression.
"Alright, alright, you've come here to cause trouble, haven't you?"
The rich second-generation shook off Mi An's hand, sneered, and pulled out a business card from his pocket, throwing it at Mi An.
"Oliver Monroe's son, Martin Monroe. You country bumpkin, I'm giving you a chance. Kneel down and apologize to me now, or else..."
"Apologize? Apologize to whom?"
Mian raised her voice a few octaves, her face full of contempt as she said:
"Towards the rutting male dog in front of you?"
Mian's provocation was too much for the rich kid to bear, and he threw a punch at Mian. Mian then used this opportunity to entangle with him.
If the earlier incident of the water glass falling to the ground only attracted the attention of everyone present, then the current scuffle between the two sides has already caused these dignitaries to show expressions of dissatisfaction.
Just as the probing was about to escalate in an even worse direction, a voice rang out.
"Gentlemen! Please stop immediately!"
A middle-aged man wearing a dark gray three-piece suit with engraved lettering on his name tag rushed over with four security guards. His voice was calm but contained an underlying sense of authority.
Through Matt, Mian learned his name. His name was Coleman Matveych, and he was the person in charge here, and unsurprisingly, a member of the nudist community.
Unlike many people who were temporarily assigned here, he had always been a long-time employee of the Donna Hotel, which is why the Nativity chose him to take charge of the situation here.
This person is the final piece of the puzzle in the Mian Project.
Coleman positioned himself between the two, easily stopping the conflict between Mian and the rich kid. His gaze, sharp as a hawk, swept over the messy ground and Mian, finally settling on the rich kid, whose face was contorted with rage.
"Mr. Monroe, could you explain what happened?"
The rich kid gritted his teeth and glared at Mi An with eyes full of hatred.
"I was having a nice chat with Miss Amy when this foreign bastard tried to interfere. It's really hard to tell who's in charge... I'll tell my father about this."
Faced with the rich kid's insults, Mi An didn't choose to retaliate. Instead, he regained his composure and spoke quickly and clearly to the person in charge:
"I came to ask Miss Crawford for an autograph, but this gentleman inexplicably came over, spilled my drink, and even tried to hit me!"
He tugged at his sleeve, which was soaked with the spilled drink, and pointed at the still-shaken Emilia.
"Miss Crawford can testify to this."
Coleman glanced at Emilia Crawford, who stood to the side. His hawk-like gaze immediately made the actress shrink back.
Although she was a celebrity, she didn't have a particularly strong background among the big shots. So she couldn't really offend the rich, good-for-nothing kid in front of her, but she also found it difficult to say anything bad about Mi An, who was polite and a fan of hers.
He could only lower his head and whisper:
"It all happened so fast, I...I don't know..."
Upon hearing this, Coleman's furrowed brows immediately relaxed.
He had initially thought the conflict might be caused by rival superhumans from other esoteric sects, but now it seemed to be just two fools fighting over a mortal woman.
It was a really pointless dispute, but he still had no choice but to mediate.
"Gentlemen, this might just be an accident. The hotel will provide you with a change of clothes; could you please put this matter aside?"
"No!"
The rich kid with no brains blurted out these words.
"I don't have a good temper enough to tolerate someone who deliberately comes looking for trouble. This matter won't be over until he kneels down and apologizes to me."
Hearing the words of this rich second-generation with slicked-back hair, which perfectly matched his plan, Mian forcibly suppressed the corners of his mouth from turning up, and with the air of an elegant foreign aristocrat, said to Coleman with utmost seriousness:
"Sir, I am an outsider, and I know I should follow your rules. But please forgive this Mr. Monroe, who not only knocked over my water glass but also slandered me in this high-sounding way. This is an insult to my honor."
After saying this, Mian glanced at the rich second-generation and added a sentence.
"I have the utmost respect for Mr. Monroe Sr., and I will go to him after this incident to apologize and ask for his forgiveness for offending his surname. But as for this Mr. Monroe Jr...."
Mian let out a cold laugh.
"Ha, don't even think about it."
"you!"
With the conflict about to resume, Coleman was feeling utterly exhausted, both physically and mentally, and he really didn't want to waste his energy on these pointless arguments.
So he could only say to the two of them with utter helplessness:
"So, how do the two of you plan to quell this incident? A duel?"
His voice was quite serious; as the hotel manager appointed by the Celestial Church, he naturally carried a certain authority. Hearing him utter the extremely serious word "duel," the rich second-generation immediately sobered up considerably.
"Uh, isn't a duel a bit too much...?"
This was originally an ancient custom, but because of the large influx of Western nobles into Oceania after the World War, many people within Oceania's elite class still use this method to determine the winner.
This is no ordinary fight; it could really bleed!
Considering he had recently been beaten up for harassing women, which had greatly angered his father, the rich kid had no desire to get involved in a so-called duel.
Mi'an, who had seen his expression and completely understood his thoughts, silently revealed a smile of triumph.
Then the smile curved upwards slightly, carrying a hint of disdain.
"Duels are always between equals, and I disdain to duel with him. But I am not an unreasonable person either. If it was truly my fault, I will apologize to this gentleman. And right now, there is something that bears witness to everything that just happened."
Mian pointed to the surveillance camera on the side and openly stated his true purpose.
"Go to the monitoring room and check the surveillance footage. With God as our witness, the truth will be revealed."
