"You want me to accept that rude female soldier Ross? Fine! But now you want me—a noble male—to take the initiative to fawn over him?!"

His voice was shrill and piercing: "Do you even know what you're saying?!"

The mysterious insect in the shadows let out a sneer.

"Isn't Ross good enough? She's a genuine S-class female soldier. Do you really think someone who only got to B-class through drugs is worthy of dreaming of being S+ class?"

"This isn't about rank at all!" Carlos jumped up like a pig whose tail had been stepped on.

"Ross? That barbarian who spends his life eating sand on marginal planets and is probably soaked in the blood and sweat of star beasts? You want me to get close to him?"

"His skin is rough, his manners are savage, and all he thinks about is fighting; he has absolutely no refined taste... Me, trying to please someone like that? It's disgusting!"

The mysterious insect remained unmoved by his rage, its voice steady yet carrying a chilling pressure:

"If you want to continue receiving the potions to maintain your mental strength level, you'd better learn to 'be obedient'."

"Moreover, Ross has been stationed on the edge of the planet for many years, and the merits and wealth he has accumulated are far beyond your imagination."

"Isn't this enormous fortune perfect for your current financial situation? Why turn down tangible benefits?"

Carlos, like a chicken with its neck being choked, abruptly stopped his vehement speech.

His face was ashen, and his chest heaved violently.

Ultimately, the fear of falling into the dust overwhelmed everything.

He seemed drained of all his strength, slumped down, and squeezed out a few words through gritted teeth:

"...time and place."

The mysterious insect chuckled contentedly.

"Tonight at eight o'clock, top floor of 'Starry Vortex'. Remember, keep your temper in check; General Ross doesn't like it."

------

General Ross stood in front of the mirror, meticulously straightening every wrinkle in his uniform, though his movements were slightly slower than usual.

His adjutant stood behind him, his face filled with worry: "General, are you... really determined to accept Lord Carlos?"

Ross paused, looking at his reflection in the mirror, and remained silent for a moment.

The collapse of his mental state was like a sword hanging over his head, revealing Carlos's vile character, coupled with the Second Prince's ambiguous intentions...

Under immense pressure, he felt lost and helpless.

"Wait for me to come back," he finally turned around, his tone seemingly calm, "and perhaps the answer will be there when I return."

The hovercar glided silently into the night.

Ross arrived at "Starry Vortex" ahead of time and sat down in his reserved spot with a superb view.

He gazed at the dazzling artificial starry sky outside the window, his thoughts a jumble of emotions, yet also a blank slate.

Just then, a series of footsteps, some light and some heavy, approached.

Ross turned his head in surprise and found that Carlos had arrived right on time.

This is extremely rare in dating with male insects.

However, this gentleman had a gloomy face, downturned lips, and exuded a low-pressure atmosphere of "extremely bad mood".

Ross immediately stood up and, following the etiquette he had learned on the StarNet, respectfully gave a standard bow: "Good day, Your Excellency Carlos."

He stepped aside to indicate, "Please take a seat."

Carlos pulled out the chair with obvious perfunctoriness and disdain, as if the expensive material had tainted his fingers. He sat down with his body leaning to one side, his posture contemptuous.

Ross remained expressionless and respectfully handed over the beautifully designed electronic menu with both hands:

"I've pre-ordered a few of the restaurant's signature dishes. Are they to your liking? Or would you like to add a few more?"

Carlos didn't even look at the menu or take the food. Instead, he impatiently tapped the smooth tabletop with his fingertips.

"Signature dish? Who knows if it'll suit my taste?" He raised an eyebrow, his gaze sweeping critically over Ross.

"I heard that there is a kind of 'rock lizard' on the edge of the planet. It is quite resilient, but its flesh is very coarse and has an earthy smell that can't be washed off."

"General Ross has been stationed here for many years; he must have suffered a lot, right? Have you gotten used to that...rough texture?"

"Will you be able to enjoy the food you're used to in the capital city?"

Ross's fingers tightened almost imperceptibly for a moment as he held the menu, but he maintained his steady grip.

"You flatter me. Conditions on the outskirts are harsh and resources are scarce, so naturally they cannot compare to the refinement of the capital planet."

Seeing that he didn't get angry, Carlos felt bored and changed his approach to make things difficult for him.

He casually took the menu, scribbled a few lines on it with his fingertips, not caring at all what he ordered, and then tossed it onto the table.

"Alright, that's all." He leaned back in his chair, turned his gaze to the window, and spoke arrogantly.

"The environment is acceptable. I hope the food here, like General Ross, is as dedicated as he is and won't disappoint me."

Ross silently retracted the menu and placed it back on the desktop:

"Yes, Your Excellency, I will make sure you are satisfied with tonight's arrangements."

The exquisite dishes were served one after another, filling the table.

Carlos's casualness and perfunctory attitude were evident; the silver cutlery clinked slightly against the bone china plate, and his brows furrowed with barely concealed impatience.

He had absolutely no interest in tough female soldiers like Rose, which was far removed from his preferred type of gentle and submissive woman.

But when he thought of the potion that maintained his level, he could only forcefully suppress the disgust that was almost overflowing.

Halfway through the meal, Carlos finally put down his cutlery, looked up, and spoke with a gracious air:

"Ross, I accept you as my queen." He raised his chin slightly, his eyes filled with disdain.

"Isn't this what you wanted? I agree."

The arrogance and condescension in that attitude were almost undisguised.

Ross paused slightly in his hand holding the wine glass. Even though Carlos's attitude was so bad, he really didn't expect Carlos to agree so directly, or even "quickly".

Based on his previous investigations, Carlos was by no means such an "easy-going" male insect.

The Second Prince... He thought to himself, "I can't believe I actually managed to persuade a B-grade male insect to give up the position of female ruler in such a way."

He calmly placed the glass back on the table, his gaze meeting Carlos's arrogant stare. His tone was steady, revealing no emotion.

"It is my honor to receive your permission." He paused slightly.

"However, I am somewhat flattered, after all, given your rank and... discerning eye, it seems that I am not the only choice."
