The situation erupted very quickly. There were few things that could attract the large-scale attention of female insects, except for the male insects and the spiritual seas that concerned their own lives.
Even if a male insect cruelly mistreats a female, it won't attract much attention unless the consequences are too horrific, because most female insects will never meet a male insect in their lifetime.
But the female insects can actually afford a doll.
As a result, sales of the Rolling Rolling dolls plummeted; some who had bought them began to leave them unused, and there were even large-scale returns...
But strangely, the StarNet was completely silent, and all content sharing the Rolling Doll had been deleted.
No insect publicly cursed Lin Luo, or even criticized him.

Eland House
The atmosphere was somewhat heavy.
Lin Luo, Ailand, Voske, and Theodore sat together, while the screen displayed public opinion monitoring data about the dolls and a flurry of return requests.
Lin Luo repeatedly refreshed his social media account page, his brows furrowed, his face filled with confusion and indescribable frustration.
"Something's not right...something's really not right..."
He muttered to himself, unable to resist looking up at the other three insects.
"With such a big fuss, sales plummeting, and so many customers returning their orders, why are there almost no customers criticizing me on my account or on the StarNet?"
Not even a single word of criticism? Shouldn't they be furious?
This was completely different from the storm he had anticipated; the deathly silence was even more suffocating.
Ayland looked at him, his eyes filled with understanding and heaviness, and explained:
"Because the vast majority of female insects do not know whether the doll will actually damage their mental sea."
"Hmm?" Lin Luo was even more confused. "Then why did they..."
"They don't believe Carlos," Ayland observed, understanding the situation perfectly.
"They are 'avoiding risks,' and once the female insect's mental sea is severely damaged, it is almost irreversible."
Even if there is only a one in ten thousand chance of a potential risk, the rational choice is to stay away.
They refuse to buy or return the goods not because they believe you are guilty, but because they have doubts…and are afraid to gamble.
Lin Luo understood. It's similar to a product on Earth being found to contain carcinogens, right? Even without concrete evidence, people will subconsciously avoid using it.
"And," Voske added.
"In the general understanding of female insects, male insects do not really care about the mental state of female insects."
They may adore and respect you, Lord Linluo, but they wouldn't believe that you considered the potential negative impact on the female insect's spiritual sea when designing and promoting the dolls.
"They think... even if the doll really has a problem, I would still recommend it to them without a care?" Lin Luo asked incredulously.
"Yes," Voske replied calmly.
"This is the norm for male insects; you are the special one."
"Vosque!" Theodore exclaimed angrily upon hearing this.
"Of course, my lord, you are just as gentle, kind, and compassionate as I am, and you would not be so cold-hearted," Voske quickly added gently.
Theodore rolled his eyes at him and didn't say anything.
Lin Luo ignored the two of them, opened his mouth, and felt that his worldview had been greatly impacted once again.
He paused for a moment, trying to find a solution: "Then... what about testing? Certificates of conformity? There must be an authoritative institution that can prove our dolls are safe, right?"
"I'm sorry, Your Excellency," Voske shook his head.
"Currently, the Empire only has testing agencies for the mental state of individual female insects. There is no authoritative agency that can certify whether an item affects the mental state. This is a regulatory gap."
Ayland nodded and added:
"It is currently widely recognized and confirmed that only the excessive use of mental power during war can lead to the collapse of the mental sea."
As for the impact of everyday items… there is a lack of systematic research and universally accepted evaluation standards.
"What about the test report that Carlos produced?"
Lin Luo pressed further, "His organization isn't exactly legitimate, is it?"
"The center he took the female insect to for testing is indeed highly regarded in the field of mental illness treatment, and its report shows that the female insect's mental state is indeed unstable."
Eland calmly analyzed, "But this report can only prove that 'the female insect is in poor condition at the moment,' not that 'the poor condition is caused by the doll.'"
"As for the third-party organization that Carlos used to test the dolls,"
Vosker took over the conversation, a cold smile playing on his lips.
"I checked, and it's a newly registered insecticide lab with no history or data accumulation. Its qualifications and impartiality are questionable, and its so-called conclusion that it 'may be incompatible with sensitive constitutions' is scientifically unconvincing."
"So," Lin Luo's heart sank.
"Even if we publicly clarify that the testing agency Carlos used was unqualified and its conclusions are unreliable, it won't truly dispel the female insects' doubts, will it?"
"Yes." Vosk nodded heavily.
"Panic has already been created. Before an absolutely authoritative 'safety certificate' appears, female insects will choose to 'better safe than sorry'."
Any explanation we offer will likely be seen by them as merely a business excuse.
"Was the female insect who first complained that the doll was causing her discomfort bribed by Carlos?" Theodore asked.
Eland shook his head:
"I checked, and there were no unusual transactions in that female insect's account. He genuinely believes that the doll may have caused the disturbance in his mental sea. Perhaps he is just paranoid, or perhaps he was deliberately guided by someone, but it is difficult to start with him."
"There are some traces of public opinion manipulation, but this evidence is insufficient to prove anything, and it may even make things worse," Voske added.
A silence fell over the study.
Lin Luo leaned back deeply into the sofa; truth and logic seemed so pale and powerless in the face of collective fear.
Things seem to have truly reached a stalemate...
----------
Carlos's mansion
Seeing the precipitous drop in sales of "Rolling Dolls" on the StarNet, which even triggered a wave of returns, Carlos swirled the expensive liquor in his glass, a satisfied grin spreading across his face.
He imagined Lin Luo's current disheveled and overwhelmed state, and Voske's gloomy face in the face of huge losses. The malice and jealousy that had been building up in his heart for so long finally found a thorough release.
His gaze swept over the kneeling female servant. Carlos was in a good mood and, unusually, did not have any thoughts of torturing the insect. He simply commanded:
"Sol, you're an eyesore. Go to the disciplinary room and kneel down for two hours to reflect on your actions."
When Saul heard the words "punishment room," his body stiffened abruptly, and fear flashed in his eyes. But when he heard the punishment of "kneeling for two hours," he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
This was almost the lightest punishment Carlos could receive when he was in a good mood.
Without the slightest hesitation, he immediately replied in a low voice, "Yes, Your Majesty." He then quickly and quietly rose and left the room.
After driving Thor away, Carlos looked at the personal terminal again. The screen showed a picture of Voske in a financial news article, and that face that the insects loathed stung him once more.
By what right? By what right could a lowly businessman have suppressed his family business and climbed to his current high position?!
A surge of intense jealousy and resentment welled up within him once more; he was determined not to let Voske get away with it!
Thinking of this, a fierce glint flashed in Carlos's eyes. He quickly began editing on his personal terminal, and soon, his social media account was updated with a post that read, "Speaking out for justice":
