The two dragons dragged the carcass of the shallow-water crocodile back to the cave.

The four-meter-long behemoth dragged itself across the pebble beach, leaving a deep trail of blood.

Shark White walked ahead, carrying the crocodile's tail in its mouth. The muscles in its neck were taut, and each step left deep claw marks on the pebbles.

Motu followed behind, occasionally nudging the crocodile's tilted body with his shoulder to help it adjust its direction.

As they reached the bend in the river, a sharp cry of an eagle came from the horizon, and Shark White abruptly stopped.

It still had a crocodile tail in its mouth, but its whole body was frozen in place, its vertical pupils staring intently at the sky.

Motu followed its gaze and looked up.

On the horizon, several black dots hovered below the clouds.

The outlines of those black dots were sharp and pointed, and the shadows they cast when their wings were spread could cover the entire canopy. Even from a distance, one could feel the oppressive feeling of being high above.

Fierce Claw Dragon Eagle.

Shark White spat the crocodile's tail out of its mouth and said in a low voice:

"Don't stare at them for too long. They have excellent eyesight and hold grudges."

Motu looked away.

He had seen that creature before, in his childhood memories.

The Dragon Instructor specifically mentioned this creature in the general education training course given to each unawakened Frost Embryo.

Its wingspan is a full five meters, and its entire body is covered with iron-gray scales, each one like a thin sheet of iron with sharp edges that can cut through flesh.

Their claws can crush rocks, and their beaks are curved like hooks, said to be able to bite through the spine of a monster of the same level.

The Fierce Claw Dragonhawk is the sky manager that Nest Mother Ms. Olpesie personally placed into the breeding farm, and it has only one responsibility.

Make sure there is no other creature that can fly freely under this sky.

In other words, the goal is to prevent the creatures raised in the dragon farm from flying away from the breeding area designated by the mother dragon, such as this dark forest.

Beside him, Shark White was recounting what he had witnessed, his voice low, as if he were talking about some unspeakable secret.

Did I tell you that?

Shark White crouched beside the crocodile carcass, its vertical pupils still fixed on the black dot in the sky.

"This happened last year. There was a first or second-tier pterosaur, I don't know where it came from, maybe it got lost, or maybe it thought it was strong enough."

That morning, it took off from the woods to the south, trying to fly away.

It paused, then licked its lips.

"It had just risen to just above the treetop, less than a hundred feet. Five fierce-clawed dragon eagles swooped down from different directions at the same time."

You couldn't even see the speed; you could only see a dark, iron-gray shadow darting back and forth around it.

Shark White gestured with its claws on its own body.

"The pterosaur didn't even have time to scream. Really, not even once."

It opened its mouth, and its throat was ripped open. Then its wings, belly, tail...

It was torn to shreds in mid-air. Scales and flesh rained down, staining a large patch of ferns red.

I could smell blood even downstream.

It muttered, "Since then, I haven't seen anything fly over this dark forest."

Motu didn't speak. He simply looked up at the black dots still swirling on the horizon.

The Fierce Claw Dragonhawks showed no intention of swooping down; they simply patrolled the area, like shepherd dogs watching over their flock.

As a blue dragon, the sky should have been his domain.

But now, Motu's face showed no emotion.

"Let's go."

He said, "These Fierce Claw Dragonhawks are just on their routine patrol; they won't pay any attention to us."

The two dragons continued dragging their prey without raising their heads again.

The crocodile's belly scraped against the pebbles, making a dull grating sound.

Behind them, the trail of blood stretched from the river bend all the way toward the cave.

The black dots hovered in the sky for a while before gradually disappearing behind the clouds.

The sky returned to its empty state, as if nothing had happened.

----------

three days later.

The shallow-water crocodile's flesh was completely devoured by the two dragons.

Only a gray-brown skeleton of the four-meter-long behemoth remains, scattered on the riverbank outside the cave.

The ribs resembled a row of curved spears, and the vertebrae lay scattered among the pebbles, washed white by the river.

Shark White gnawed the last rib clean, the bone crunching loudly in his mouth, then spat out the crumbs and let out a satisfied burp.

"First-tier meat is just different."

It patted its belly.

"This blood energy is enough for me to digest for several days."

After saying that, it plunged into the river, found a comfortable spot in the shallow water, and sank its entire body to the bottom, leaving only a small section of silvery-white scales on its back exposed.

The river water flowed over the scales, and the pale blue luster on the edges of those scales was faintly visible in the sunlight.

An hour later, the water surface exploded.

Shark White leaped out of the water, soaking wet, and shook himself on the riverbank, splashing water droplets everywhere.

As the sunlight fell upon it, Motu noticed that its changes had become even more pronounced.

It has grown even bigger and is now the same size as Motu.

With broad shoulders and strong limbs, it naturally exudes the aura of a predator when standing on the riverbank, without needing to deliberately puff out its chest.

Its shadow, cast on the ground, was more than twice as large as it had been three days ago.

The silvery-white scales were almost twice as thick as before, with a faint blue sheen at the edges.

The luster wasn't from external reflection, but rather emanated from within the scales, as if some kind of liquid was slowly flowing beneath them.

The newly formed scales have sharp edges and are covered in layers, giving them a distinct bumpy texture when touched.

Shark White tapped its chest with its claws, making a dull sound.

It wasn't the weak, superficial pattering sound of before, but a deep, resonant thud, like striking a drum covered with skin.

Listen to this!

It proudly told Motu, and then knocked twice more.

"Like hitting a stone."

Motu walked over, extended its claw, and scratched Shark White's forearm.

The claw tip grazed the scales, leaving a shallow white mark, without breaking the skin or drawing blood.

He applied more force and made another cut, which deepened the white mark, but still did not damage the skin or flesh underneath.

"Not bad," he commented honestly.

The three-layered serrations of the shark white hair were stretched even wider, almost reaching the roots of the ears.

It turned around, aimed at a pebble the size of a head on the riverbank, opened its mouth, and bit down with its three layers of serrated teeth.

"Click—"

The pebble shattered with a snap, and stone chips fell from between the teeth, with a few pieces splashing onto the water's surface, creating ripples.

Shark White spat out the pebbles from his mouth, licked his teeth with his tongue, and his vertical pupils were full of excited light.

"Now bite those rotten mud seeds,"

It said that its voice carried an almost inflated confidence.

"It's like chewing on a cartilage."

Motu looked at it and understood what was going on.

The current Shark White is more than capable of taking on that Dragonborn kobold in a one-on-one fight.

While the concentration of dragon blood has a significant impact on physical stats, it is not enough to bridge the gap between different monster ranks.

Moreover, both he and Shark White have dragon blood flowing through their veins.

"Do you want revenge?" he asked.

Shark White's vertical pupils suddenly lit up, like two balls of fire being ignited.

The three serrated edges slowly parted, revealing a cruel smile, and a low gurgling sound came from deep in its throat.

"certainly!"

"You go this time."

Motu said this in a calm tone, as if he were arranging something trivial.

"I'll be watching from behind."

Sha Bai paused for a moment, a hint of surprise flashing in his vertical pupils.

But soon, that slight surprise was replaced by excitement and confidence.

It puffed out its chest, its tail swishing loudly, slapping a shower of crumbs across the pebble beach.

"That's how it should be!"

Its sound was so loud that it echoed through the valley.

"Last time it bullied us because of its strength, this time it's our turn to bully it! You just rest on the sidelines and watch me take care of that bastard by myself!"

It turned and took a few steps toward the rocky hill, then stopped and looked back at Motu.

"Just you wait and see!"

It said, with a hint of unease in its voice, "Don't interfere."

"I won't interfere."

"Really not going to get involved?"

"If you don't go soon, it will get dark."

Sha Bai muttered something, then turned and strode towards the rocky hill.

Its silvery-white scales gleamed coldly in the afternoon sun, and its tail trailed behind it, carving a deep groove in the fallen leaves.

Motu followed at a leisurely pace, keeping a distance of about twenty paces.

Watching Shark White's excited back, a barely perceptible smile flashed in Blue Dragon's vertical pupils.

He seems to have discovered the joys of raising a puppy.
