The bickering and leisurely time by Mirror Lake kept the two dragons there until dusk.

The sun sank completely below the horizon, leaving only a dark, blood-red glow on the sky, like a wound that was barely healing.

The green tile crawled up from the grass, stretched its body vigorously, and shook violently from head to tail, shaking off the grass blades and bits of mud stuck between its scales.

"Alright, it's time to go back."

She opened her mouth wide and let out a long yawn.

"When the captain asked, we told him that we had patrolled the entire border and found nothing unusual."

Motu glanced at her: "Do you do this often?"

What does "frequently" mean?

The green tile's tail slapped the ground in dissatisfaction.

"Occasionally! Just occasionally relax!"

"Hey, don't you dare tell the captain, or I'll bite you."

She bared her teeth, making a threatening expression, though it wasn't very convincing.

Motu didn't respond to that question, but simply spread his wings. The wing membranes traced a powerful arc in the deepening twilight, and he was the first to take to the air.

Green Tile hurriedly followed, flying to his side and slightly behind, muttering to itself trying to salvage the situation:

"Besides, nothing much happened today... Those few hairy beasts didn't even dare to step over the border, so how can that be considered abnormal?"

At most, it can be considered... an unsuccessful attempt to spy...

As the two moons rose in the night sky, one bright and one dim, the two dragons finally flew back to the auxiliary defense team's base.

Akino sat alone on the low stone wall on the outskirts of the camp. A tiny, dark red spark flickered between his fingers in the night.

Seeing them land, she calmly took the herb scroll from her lips and nimbly jumped down from the wall.

"How is it?" Akino's voice was even calmer than the night wind.

"Everything is normal!"

Green Tile answered eagerly, his tone sounding very serious.

"Everything is normal on the northern route. There are a few traces of Blood Sand Eagles over the swamp, but they haven't entered. There's also been no activity at Blackwater Market."

Qiuye glanced at Motu.

"The newcomer flew very well!"

Noticing Akino's gaze, Green Tile quickly added,

"He's quite diligent when patrolling. It's just that he's clumsy at catching fish."

Upon hearing this, Akino's lips curved upwards almost imperceptibly, but she wisely refrained from delving into the abrupt detail of catching fish.

In reality, given the nature of the five-colored dragons, it's already considered safe if they don't cause any trouble when they go out; don't expect them to actually work and patrol the border obediently all day long.

"The same as usual tomorrow."

She stubbed out her cigarette on the stone wall.

"That's enough for today, go and rest."

Motu nodded to Qiuye, then turned and walked towards his simple stone house.

"Hey, Iron Bones!" Green Tile called out from behind him.

Motu stopped and looked back.

"Let's still be a pair tomorrow!"

The green tiles grinned, and the moonlight shone on their sharp serrated edges, reflecting a silvery sheen.

"What?" Motu retorted, "You don't want to mentor the newcomers anymore?"

"Whether you want to or not, you have to bring it anyway, right?"

Green Tile flicked her signature forked tail, then puffed out her chest, stretched out her paws, and actually began counting on her fingers, explaining the thoughts she had finally managed to sort out.

"Una and Igor can't fly, and the northern route is vast. It's such a long round trip, so I guess it will mostly be the two of us patrolling from now on."

After she finished speaking, she looked at Motu with an expression that said, "See how thorough my analysis is," and the tip of her tail smugly wiggled slightly.

Blue Dragon was somewhat confused: "And then?"

"……Then?!"

Green Tile's smug expression froze instantly, her emerald green vertical pupils widening abruptly, as if she couldn't believe that the other party hadn't grasped her "deeper meaning."

"And then...and then we'll be doing things together all the time from now on! You...you stubborn mule, why can't you get it!"

She felt as if a bone was stuck in her throat, both angry and anxious. She made a couple of flailing motions in the air with her claws before finally stomping her foot heavily.

"That's it, you're so stupid!"

Green Tile huffed and puffed out those words, then abruptly turned around, spread its wings with a whoosh, and flew without looking back toward its haphazardly constructed nest of huge dead trees and vines at the edge of its encampment, moving so fast that it stirred up a small gust of wind.

Motu stood there, watching her angry figure disappear into the distance, and subconsciously raised his paw to scratch the scales on the back of his head.

Green Tile's sudden outburst of temper and nonsensical words left him feeling somewhat bewildered.

However, he is not the type to dwell on trivial details.

After a brief moment of confusion, he put it aside, turned around, and used his paws to push open the wooden door of his simple stone house.

"Squeak—"

The door hinges made a slight grinding sound.

He went inside, and the heavy wooden door slowly closed behind him, shutting out the moonlight and the cool night air.

The room was very quiet.

Motu placed his heavy dragon-like body on the stone bed and remained motionless.

Only now, far removed from the hustle and bustle of the day and his tasks, did he truly have private time that was entirely his own, a time to breathe and reflect.

Actually, a lot happened today, such as the [Blood Moon Meditation] reward given by the cheat code, the new quest choice given by Ixtal, and the "Wizard's Handbook" given by Akino.

He didn't have time to sort through all of these things.

Motu lay quietly, letting his thoughts wander aimlessly for a moment, until he felt his mind refocus. Then he opened his eyes, thought for a moment, took out the book "Introduction to Wizardry" that Qiuye had given him from the gaps in the scales, and opened it.

Magic perception.

He had roughly looked through it once during the day by the river, but there was no suitable time or place to practice then, so it has been delayed until now.

At this moment, following the instructions in the manual, the blue dragon closed its eyes and tried to project its mental energy outward—

At first, there was only darkness and chaos.

He could feel the outline of his own body and the hard, cold stone bed, but that was all.

Motu was not impatient; he simply maintained that focused, outward-looking intention, like patiently waiting for his eyes to adjust in the dark.

I don't know how much time passed, maybe a few breaths, maybe longer, but some subtle change began to occur.

Darkness is no longer pure.

Some extremely vague and indescribable outlines, or traces, began to emerge, not visually, but as a more direct, spiritual sensation.

He "looked" out of the stone house.

He could feel the magical traces left on the grass outside the stone house where the green tiles had passed.

It was dark green, pulsating with vitality, like a still-burning fire.

Further away, Una's magical traces were dark gray, faint and scattered, like ashes blown away by the wind. Inigo's traces were almost nonexistent, with only a few blurry footprints.

Motu suddenly opened his eyes.

The released spiritual energy naturally receded like the tide.

He looked down at his outstretched paws, his golden vertical pupils filled with undisguised astonishment.

"...You sensed it already?"

The process went more smoothly than I had imagined, with almost no obstacles encountered.

This is completely different from the feeling of being stuck and struggling when practicing the Blood Moon Meditation Method, and ultimately having to rely on external forces to break through.

"Could it be... that I actually have some talent in certain fundamental areas of wizarding magic?"

This thought stirred something within Motu. For instance, when analyzing the basic runes of Sharpness, he seemed to have learned them very quickly. However, he was immediately overwhelmed by even greater doubts.

"Then why was it that you couldn't even begin to grasp the Blood Moon Meditation Technique back in the Dark Forest? Was it only through some kind of cheat-like ability that you managed to force your way through?"

Having reached this point in his mind, he no longer hesitated.

Carefully put away "The Wizarding Basics," lowered his body again, and closed his eyes.

This time, his consciousness sank deeper, actively exploring the system that was already circulating within his body, like a newly opened river channel—

Blood Moon Meditation Method.
