Chapter 22 Green Tiles
When faced with the new team member, Green Tile circled Motu twice, its tail sweeping across the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.
She spun around twice, then stopped, her vertical pupils staring straight at Motu, her face beaming with unusual excitement.
"New guy, do you know the rules?"
Motu was taken aback: "What rules?"
"A welcome party!"
The three layers of serrated edges on the green tile roof were all split open.
"Let's fight and settle things! Aside from the boss, whoever has the bigger fist calls the shots here!"
Upon hearing this, Motu glanced at the indifferent male captain.
"Rolin," he remembered that's what the guide called him.
Captain Rolin stood by the river, his back to them, seemingly lost in thought, completely oblivious to what was happening around him.
He glanced again at the female senior who liked to smoke cigarettes, Akino.
She was also standing by the river, but not with her back to the river; instead, she was turned to the side, her peripheral vision falling on the open ground.
She noticed Motu's gaze, smiled, took the cigarette out of her mouth, and held it up to Motu, as if to say, "You guys continue, I'll just watch."
Meanwhile, the green tiles here are already getting restless.
Her body sank slightly, her hind legs tensed, and her dark green scales stood up one by one, like waves of wheat being blown by the wind.
Her three tails rose up simultaneously, each with a bony spur at its end aimed at different parts of Motu.
Left shoulder, right shoulder, chest.
"I'll go first!"
She cried out and pounced on him.
high speed.
Motu's pupils contracted slightly.
Green Tile was smaller than him, but his explosive power was no less than his, and even stronger.
The Hydra bloodline granted her not only regenerative abilities, but also an almost insane explosive power, as if she were to unleash all her strength into a single charge.
Her right claw slammed towards Motu's shoulder, the tip of her claw whistling through the air.
Motu didn't dodge. The scales on his right shoulder instantly turned metallic, their bluish-gray luster gleaming coldly in the setting sun.
"boom--"
The claw strike landed solidly on Motu's shoulder.
Green Tile's finger bones went numb from the shock. She hissed, withdrew her claws, and shook them. A hint of surprise flashed in her vertical pupils.
"Are your bones made of iron?" she asked.
Motu did not answer. His right claw was already clenched into a fist, and he slammed it into Green Tile's chest.
The green tiles responded quickly as well.
She leaned back, and her three tails lashed out at Motu from three directions at the same time.
Pull the left thigh to pull the left leg, the right thigh to pull the right leg, and the middle thigh to pull the waist and abdomen.
Motu did not retreat. His legs and waist simultaneously turned metal, allowing him to withstand the three tail blows.
"Clang, clang, clang—"
Three muffled thuds, like a hammer striking an anvil.
Motu swayed, but did not take a step back.
A sharp pain shot through the tip of Green Tile's tail. She grimaced, but instead of backing down, she became even more excited.
"Interesting! Let's do it again!"
This time, she didn't use her claws; instead, she rammed her entire body into it.
Dark green scales clung to Motu's body, and her neck coiled around him like a snake, trying to strangle him.
The bulges on my neck were engorged with blood and growing larger, as if something was about to burst out of them.
Motu felt a tremendous force gripping his neck.
Green Tile's neck was much stronger than it looked; the strength didn't come from muscles, but from deep within its veins.
One of Hydra's instinctive talents is to entangle and strangle.
He began to have difficulty breathing.
But his expression remained unchanged. He raised his right claw, the tip crackling with a ghostly blue arc of electricity.
"Crackling sound—"
An electric arc struck the green tile's neck.
Green Tile's body stiffened abruptly, and the binding force suddenly weakened.
An electric arc leaped between the dark green scales, producing a series of soft crackling sounds, and the edges of the green tile scales curled slightly from the electricity.
She released Motu's neck, took two steps back, her vertical pupils filled with shock: "You can even generate electricity?!"
Motu stretched his neck, which had been sore from being constricted, and the metallic scales slowly returned to their normal color.
He didn't give chase; he just stood there, looking at the green tiles.
Is it strange that blue dragons can generate electricity?
The dragon on the other side doesn't look very smart.
Motu silently downgraded it to the Shark White level in his mind.
On the other side, Green Tile looked down at its own scales.
Several of the pieces were jerked up by the electric shock, revealing the pink, tender flesh underneath.
She used her claws to press the scales back, but after pressing them twice without success, she impatiently slapped them hard, and with a loud "smack," finally pressed them back in.
She looked up, and the excitement in her vertical pupils didn't diminish; instead, it intensified.
"Again!" She took another step forward.
That's enough.
The sound wasn't loud, but it was very clear.
It came from the riverbank.
Motu turned his head to look.
Rowling remained with his back to them, not turning around. But he raised his hand, his index finger slightly bent, as if flicking something.
"Green tiles, step back."
Akino took the cigarette out of his mouth and waved towards the green tiles.
"Stop playing around. The newbie's dragon blood concentration is quite high, and his scales have already become metallic. You can't break through his defenses. Your regenerative abilities are very strong, so he can't kill you either."
Continuing this fight would just be a war of attrition, which is unnecessary. This round is a draw.
Green Tile flicked its tail and said defiantly:
"Who says I can't break through your defenses? Give me ten more rounds, and my poison—"
She had only spoken halfway when Green Tile suddenly stopped, because she noticed that Roland had turned his head and was looking in her direction.
Those silver-gray vertical pupils were staring at her, expressionless, but the meaning of "enough" was very clear.
She obediently shut her mouth, her tail drooped, and her three bony spikes dangled on the ground as she dragged herself back.
As he walked over to Motu, he muttered something under his breath:
"Next time I'll definitely break your turtle shell."
Blue Dragon smiled but didn't reply.
Now that the game is considered a draw, Motu shifted his gaze from Green Tile to the corner of the open space, looking at the rest of the team.
Una Underwood remained huddled there, her vertical pupils lowered, her fingers twisting together.
Motu glanced at her, and she seemed to sense his gaze. Her body trembled slightly, and she raised her head, meeting Motu's vertical pupils for a moment.
Then she quickly looked away, her voice barely audible, like a mosquito's buzz:
"I...I give up."
Motu nodded and didn't make things difficult for her.
He then looked at Inigo Valentine. The dragon-man male, who stood like a wooden stake, still stood with his arms crossed, expressionless, silent and showing no intention of challenging him.
None of these people intended to step forward.
Motu understood something at this point.
The so-called welcome party was nothing more than Green Tile wanting to start a fight.
His gaze finally fell on Captain Rolin.
The human male in the dark red robe was still standing by the river, his back to everyone.
The setting sun stretched his shadow long, the end of which almost touched Motu's toes.
His short staff leaned against his side, the dark red crystal core at the top gleaming like blood in the setting sun.
Motu stared at the figure for a few seconds, his gaze filled with curiosity.
The captain, named Rolin, wore the standard robe of the Holy Blood Tower, with silver runes embroidered on the hem, just like the gray-eyed wizard that the blue dragon had seen in the Dark Forest.
There's something about this person that he wants to understand.
