Douluo Continent: Apollo, the Sun God King!

Chapter 16 The Investiture Platform

dormitory.

The moment Lin Yaoyang pushed open the door, a strong musty smell hit him, almost making him sneeze.

He covered his nose and frowned as he looked around at the place where he would be living for at least a year.

The dormitory was tiny, barely ten square meters. Two single beds took up most of the space, their bare wooden planks covered in dust. Besides that, there was only a table and two empty metal wardrobes.

Lin Yaoyang shook his head, walked to the window, and pushed it open forcefully.

As fresh air rushed in, it carried away the musty smell from the room. He waited a while until the smell had mostly dissipated before he began to clean up.

He chose the bed by the window. He took out a rag from his storage device and wiped the bed frame, table, and wardrobe inside and out twice until no dust was visible.

Then they laid out the bedding and cleaned the table.

The whole process was clean and efficient, and it was done in less than half an hour.

Lin Yaoyang glanced at the dusty bed opposite him, but showed no intention of helping to tidy it up.

That was about his roommate, whom he had never met.

He sat down at the table and took something out of his storage soul tool: the storage bracelet he had seized from a level nine soul master.

He hasn't studied this thing carefully since he got it.

Now I finally have some time.

Lin Yaoyang probed the bracelet with his mental energy and began to take stock of its contents.

The first thing that catches the eye is the soul tool.

From level nine to level one, there are all sorts of items, at least twenty or thirty in total. There are attack types, defense types, support types, escape types, you name it.

Lin Yaoyang didn't know much about soul tools, but just by looking at the intricate patterns and flowing energy fluctuations, he knew that these things were very valuable.

Then there are rare metal materials.

The storage space was filled with ores of all sizes; some he had seen in books, and others he couldn't name at all.

There was also a large stack of blueprints and documents. Lin Yaoyang casually flipped through them; most of them were design blueprints for soul tools, along with some research notes and theoretical materials.

Finally, at the deepest part of the storage space, he found something that caught his eye.

A golden square platform, about the size of a palm.

It should be the Investiture of the Gods Platform.

Lin Yaoyang took it out and placed it on the table to examine it carefully. The square platform was light gold in color, and its surface was covered with densely packed mechanisms. There was a groove in the center, which seemed to be able to hold something.

Is this the level-nine soul tool that sealed the Snow Emperor's embryo in the original story?

He examined it over and over for a long time, but still couldn't figure it out. The structure of this thing was too complicated; with his current knowledge of soul tools, he simply couldn't understand it.

"Let's talk about it later," Lin Yaoyang muttered, putting away the Conferred God Platform and taking out the research notes of the ninth-level Soul Master.

This is what he's truly interested in.

Lin Yaoyang opened his notebook and began to read it carefully.

……

One hour later.

Lin Yaoyang closed his notebook and rubbed his slightly sore eyes.

The contents of the notes were far more profound than he had imagined. He only vaguely understood many of the theories, since he had never systematically studied soul tools. However, he could still grasp some of the basic parts.

"Looks like I need to find some time to systematically learn about soul tools," he muttered to himself, putting away his notes.

He glanced at the sky outside the window. The sun was already setting in the west, and the horizon was tinged with an orange-red sunset.

It's time to eat.

Lin Yaoyang stood up, stretched, and walked out of the dormitory.

……

Each grade has its own cafeteria, located behind the dormitory area.

There are quite a lot of people in the cafeteria right now.

The cafeteria is large, but there isn't a single table or chair; it's completely empty except for a sink on one side for washing hands and utensils.

Lin Yaoyang looked at the sign at the entrance, which read that food was not allowed to be taken out of the cafeteria.

Lin Yaoyang chuckled and walked into the lobby on the first floor, where there were already quite a few people.

Inside, the price is displayed outside each window. There are eight windows in total, each offering different dishes, with prices increasing from right to left.

He went straight to the leftmost window.

When you're out and about, treat yourself well and eat the best!

He ordered three dishes and a serving of rice.

The chef behind the window glanced at him, then quickly packed his food for him.

Lin Yaoyang paid the money, put the food into his storage soul tool, and turned to leave.

"Hey, student!" the cook behind me called out, "Food can't be taken out of the cafeteria!"

Lin Yaoyang waved his hand without turning his head and pushed the door open to leave.

The chef hesitated for a moment, shook his head, and didn't chase after them.

……

at the same time.

Inner courtyard, Dean's office.

Du Weilin knocked on the door and heard a "Come in" from inside before pushing the door open and going in.

The office was simply furnished, with a large desk, a few chairs, and several calligraphy and paintings hanging on the wall. Behind the desk sat a man in white, with a refined demeanor and a slender face.

Dean of the Martial Soul Department, Yan Shaozhe.

"Dean, great news!" Du Weiren exclaimed as he entered, his face beaming with undisguised joy. "This year, Shrek Academy has welcomed a peerless genius!"

Yan Shaozhe looked up, put down his pen, and smiled, "Oh? Is that so? Tell me about it."

Du Weilun walked to the table and handed over the documents he was holding: "There's a freshman in Class of '42 who's registering today!"

"Forty-two?" Yan Shaozhe's smile faltered slightly as he took the documents and began to examine them. "Are you sure the age isn't wrong?"

"Confirmed! Bone age was tested twice, both times it was twelve years old."

After reviewing the information, Yan Shaozhe leaned back in his chair and let out a long sigh: "Genius... an absolute genius!"

He paused, then asked, "What's his name? What's his martial spirit? Where is he from?"

Du Weilen answered one by one: "Lin Yaoyang comes from Lingxue City of the Tianhun Empire. His martial soul is... Apollo."

"Apollo?" Yan Shaozhe was taken aback. "What kind of martial soul is that?"

Du Weilen shook his head: "I don't know either. But according to the registration teacher's description, when he releases his martial soul, a huge golden humanoid phantom appears behind him, radiating an extremely intense heat. It should be an extremely powerful beast martial soul, and it's fire attribute."

"Fire attribute?" Yan Shaozhe's eyes lit up slightly.

A twelve-year-old Soul Master, whose martial soul is fire-attribute...

Could it be that Heaven has once again favored him, sending him another peerless genius as his disciple?

Thinking of this, Yan Shaozhe was overjoyed, and his smile deepened.

Du Weilun interrupted his thoughts: "Dean Yan, the problem now is that Lin Yaoyang's cultivation level has reached the level of an upperclassman. Should we transfer him to an upperclassman?"

He paused, then added, "He's been assigned to Class 1 of the freshmen, Zhou Yi's class."

"Zhou Yi?"

Yan Shaozhe's smile froze on his face, and his brows furrowed immediately.
