Primordial Era: Elixir of Qi Transforms into Form, Controlling the Pharmacology of the World

Time flies.

Ling Dan followed known pill formulas and refined countless pills.

Some failures, some successes, and some unexpected events—in short, many changes led Ling Dan to gradually gain an understanding of the art of alchemy and the properties of medicinal herbs.

As I learned more, I gradually realized that elixirs and elixirs are fundamentally different.

The fruit nurtured by the spiritual root contains pure energy and an incomplete Dao.

After consuming it, one can comprehend the fragmented Great Dao and also gain the special effect of the Great Dao's propagation.

Elixirs are different; their medicinal properties are merely a form of energy, without any Daoist essence contained within them.

That pure energy is ever-changing, sometimes as gentle as flowing water, sometimes as fiery as shifting flames… The fusion of various medicinal properties creates numerous special effects. It can be said that the many characteristics of a spiritual medicine are the result of the fusion of its inherent medicinal properties.

The art of alchemy works in this way: relying on the medicinal properties of spiritual herbs, they blend together to ultimately transform into various kinds of pills.

Now, after a thousand years of alchemy, Ling Dan has gained profound insights into the properties of various medicinal substances and has begun to gradually choose to create new pills, thinking about how to create pills that can purify demonic energy.

In just a few decades, Ling Dan found countless compatible spiritual herbs among countless other spiritual herbs: Tranquilizing Grass, Bright Fruit, Golden Spirit Leaf...

Ling Dan, sensing the abundance of spiritual herbs, exclaimed, "Could this be the advantage I have as the number one Daoist Qi of Heaven and Earth, cultivating the Great Dao of Pills? For ordinary people, creating a pill formula requires countless hours just to select the herbs suitable for its properties from among countless others. Then, figuring out the optimal proportions for blending the herbs is an even bigger headache. But by relying on the Great Dao of Pills and purifying the Dao, I've found the necessary herbs from countless spiritual herbs in such a short time."

Ling Dan never expected that her own knowledge of alchemy would be of such great help.

To create a "formula", there are five steps.

Step 1: Assumptions!

Step 2: Verification.

Step 3: Find the elixir!

Step 4: Compatibility of medicinal properties!

Step 5: The Elixir's Success!

After the five processes, the most difficult parts are the fourth step, finding the elixir, and the fifth step, getting the medicinal properties to blend.

After all, there are countless medicinal herbs in the primordial world, and it is extremely difficult to choose one that matches one's assumptions.

Each elixir has different medicinal properties, or contains multiple medicinal properties, resulting in countless variations, making them difficult to identify.

The "harmony of medicinal properties" is even more complex. The proportions of each medicinal property are different, and the combination will produce countless changes.

Ling Dan never expected that creating a pill formula would be so simple.

Perhaps this is what talent is?

Ling Dan smiled.

Then, he took the compatible medicinal herbs and continuously fused them together, refining the necessary medicinal properties, performing the fusion again and again.

Two kinds of elixirs were combined, then three, four...

Ling Dan wasn't afraid of wasting it; after multiple fusions, the spiritual herbs were all destroyed.

However, a large amount of fusion data was also obtained from it.

The process of refining medicinal herbs, observing changes in their properties, and crafting elixirs takes hundreds of years.

During this time, countless spiritual herbs were consumed, but Ling Dan didn't feel any heartache, after all, these were all investments made in creation.

Finally, it lived up to everyone's expectations.

In Ling Dan's mind, numerous alchemy processes and the core principles of alchemy appeared.

Purifying Heart Pill: This pill can purify the mind and protect the primordial spirit from demonic influence.

Purification Pill: This pill can purify the body of demonic energy and protect it from its corrosive effects.

Purifying Pill: This pill can purify one's own magical power and remove the demonic energy it contains.

The three pill formulas were completely imprinted on Ling Dan's mind.

……

After a long time, Ling Dan thoroughly understood the formula.

"Laojun, prepare a large quantity of Tranquilizing Grass for me..." Ling Dan informed Laojun, instructing him to search for spiritual herbs.

"Want some more? Sure, there are plenty of medicinal herbs anyway, you can play with them as you please." Lao Jun coaxed Ling Dan as if she were a child, letting her play freely.

Ling Dan said earnestly, "Don't worry, we won't waste any spiritual herbs this time."

With that, Ling Dan put many spiritual herbs into the Four Symbols Cauldron and began refining pills.

During the refining of elixirs, the Great Dao within Ling Dan's body transforms into the Great Dao of Medicine. Therefore, during the refining of elixirs, one can communicate with various medicinal materials and know the optimal heat level.

When the medicinal properties are combined, it transforms into the Great Dao of Elixir.

In this way, the elixirs can be combined more easily.

In the blink of an eye, many years have passed.

Now, inside the Four Symbols Cauldron, the swirling medicinal properties blend together, transforming into a fragrant aroma.

The medicinal fragrance brought Laozi back to his senses: "Hmm... this medicinal fragrance..."

Laozi was also an expert in alchemy and was very sensitive to elixirs. He found it somewhat strange to sense this unusual medicinal fragrance.

Ling Dan chuckled, looking at the pill that was about to take shape: "Laojun, all the spiritual herbs I've wasted over the years haven't been wasted in vain."

"Hiss... Ling Dan, you've created a new pill formula? It's only been a short time, and you've already created it. That's too fast!" Lao Jun wasn't stupid; upon seeing Ling Dan, he considered this possibility.

Ling Dan remained calm: "It's probably related to my cultivation of the Great Dao of Pills. When I want to refine a certain pill, many spiritual herbs seem to develop sentience and tell me how to refine it. So it's very easy to create pill formulas."

"How wondrous, how wondrous... Such a creative elixir formula is unheard of!" Laozi also felt it was incredible. He stared at Lingdan and could only conclude that it was because Lingdan's elixir energy had materialized.

Ling Dan didn't care about any of that, and with a flick of her finger, she said, "Collect the pill."

In an instant, within the Four Symbols Cauldron, pills surrounded the area, and imprinted pill patterns appeared. There were only three pills, each imprinted with six pill patterns.

Since this was Ling Dan's first time refining this type of pill, she didn't refine it on a large scale. Therefore, she spent a lot of effort and used many spiritual herbs to refine only three pills of the sixth grade quality.

Now, three pills flew out and landed in Ling Dan's hand.

The Heart-Cleansing Pill, the Body-Cleansing Pill, and the Qi-Cleansing Pill... the three pills landed in my palm, and the aroma they emitted and the surrounding fragrance were truly intoxicating.

As the fragrance of medicine spread, a special aura seemed to emanate from the heavens.

That aura made Laozi, who should have been curious, look up and gaze: "Merit..."

In an instant, the golden light of merit descended from the sky, seemingly traversing endless demonic energy and countless years, and surged into Ling Dan's place.

In the instant of "boom," the merit exploded.

Seventy percent flowed into Ling Dan's body, and thirty percent flowed into the three pills. The pills, which were only of sixth-grade quality, have now been upgraded to eighth-grade.

This sudden change left Ling Dan dumbfounded: "Laojun, what's going on? How did I suddenly gain merit?"

Laozi, now plucking off a beard, shook his head: "Silly child... This exorcism is a great act of merit. The elixir you refined must have been crucial to this exorcism, which is why you have reaped so much merit."

"This is possible! Isn't it rumored that the merit gained from this demon-slaying battle can only be obtained after the battle is over? How come I got it ahead of time?" Ling Dan also knew that merit could be gained from this demon-slaying. However, merit could only be gained after the demonic energy was completely eliminated.

Laozi also sighed, "This battle against demons is ultimately short-lived. But the three demon-exorcising pills you refined will have a long and lasting impact. For this, you will naturally be able to gain merit ahead of time."

Lao Jun looked at Ling Dan, who had reaped merit, and also praised her.

How long has it been? Ling Dan has already created a demon-repelling pill. Could it be that Ling Dan, who has transformed into pill energy, can create pill formulas so easily?

Lao Jun pondered, while Ling Dan gradually digested what she had gained.

The three Rank 6 pills, now imbued with merit, have evolved into Rank 8 pills. The aura of merit they exude makes them even more mysterious.

In addition, Ling Dan also gained 70% merit. However, without comparison, it is unknown whether the merit gained this time was more or less.

Aside from the merits, Ling Dan inexplicably sensed something mysterious, yet she couldn't quite perceive it.

Ling Dan fell into thought and asked with a puzzled look, "Laojun... something's not right. After I received merit, I found something extra. But I don't know what it is?"

"That's fortune! Little Lingdan... In the primordial world, there are two mysterious things: merit and fortune. You know what merit is; it's what you gain by doing good for heaven and earth. However, in addition to accumulating merit, you also gain fortune."

Luck is mysterious and extremely precious to cultivators. However, luck is difficult to obtain; currently, the only way to acquire it is by accumulating merit, which comes with luck. Lao Jun sighed, looking at Ling Dan, unsure of what to say.
