Mice dominate the dungeon
Chapter 52 Guild Floor 2 and Blacksmith Shop
The old ones, of course, are put on the [Iron Furnace] and sold as second-hand weapons!
Can't we just throw it away?
However, Raymond felt that he was changing weapons a bit too often.
I basically have to go to the blacksmith every month to get a new weapon, and I feel like Uftar, the dwarf boss of the [Flaming Iron Forge], always smiles happily whenever he sees me.
I really need to be a little more careful, otherwise, before I even retire, the blacksmith Uftal will be financially independent...
However, this time he can't be blamed. The only one to blame is that his opponent was too strong. He had to use some of his trump cards. Otherwise, it would have been a question whether he could have survived the Abomination Serpent Man, who was at level 41.
Raymond suddenly remembered that caravans and adventurers had been frequently disappearing on the edge of the Black Forest, and he wondered if it was related to today's "Abomination Serpent Man"...
Perhaps we can pass this information on to the guild and maybe we'll get some extra gold!
Raymond suddenly stood up, startling Elana who was about to sit down.
"What's with the jump scare?!" Elana asked Raymond, turning to face him. "What are you going to do?"
"make money!"
Raymond glanced at the quest wall and quickly found the quest about the Black Forest disappearance case in the gold-level bounty quest list.
Since this is a bounty posted by the guild itself, and not on behalf of someone else, the task will most likely end after a thorough investigation before it is cancelled.
This is a special type of bounty mission.
After carefully reviewing the details of the bounty mission, Raymond felt confident that he could hand over the information he had gathered that day to the guild.
Raymond then headed upstairs.
The second floor is only open to adventurers of Gold rank and above, and the information and items sold there are much rarer and more valuable than those on the first floor.
For adventurers like Raymond, who are at the Gold level, there are even dedicated attendants who handle mission handover one-on-one.
As Raymond stepped onto the last step of the spiral staircase, the commotion on the first floor was completely shut out by an invisible, enchanted barrier.
The thick velvet carpet beneath your feet is silent as you walk on it, absorbing all unnecessary noise.
Unlike the lingering smells of beer, sweat, and gunpowder downstairs, the air on the second floor of the Adventurers' Guild is free of the smoky, foul odors of the area, only the faint scent of morning dew and flowers, and the distinctive aroma of parchment.
The entire second floor was imbued with the opulence and tranquility befitting a mid-level adventurer, so quiet that only the faint whispers from the distant cubicles and the soft scraping of pens across paper could be heard.
Raymond felt a little awkward upon arriving on the second floor of the guild, and then went straight to the familiar receptionist.
A beautiful and elegant female attendant stood quietly behind the quest platform. She wore a dark indigo fitted long dress with silver guild crests embroidered on the collar and cuffs, the stitches so fine they resembled magical markings.
"Hey! Isn't this our busy Raymond?" Leora leaned forward slightly, revealing a glimpse of her fair skin, and greeted him sarcastically.
Although Raymond had long been able to come and go freely on the second floor of the guild, he didn't particularly like going up there.
In Raymond's own words, the second floor was built too high, and he was too lazy to walk those two extra steps unless necessary.
Being an adventurer every day is tiring enough; I really don't want to climb stairs...
Raymond ignored Leora's sarcasm, picked up her glass, and drank.
Leora didn't mind; she and Raymond were old acquaintances.
Back when she was working as a receptionist on the first floor, Raymond was only a Silver-rank adventurer.
Afterwards, both of them were promoted, but what remained unchanged was that Leora still entertained Raymond and helped him receive and assign missions.
"It's rare for you to come up to the second floor so late. Is there something you need?" Leora asked.
Raymond put down his cup and recounted in detail to Leora what had happened that day.
"Take a look and see if the information I provided is helpful to your guild," Raymond said immediately. "If it is, then help us apply for the corresponding mission rewards."
"Okay..." Leora glanced at the cracks in Raymond's plate armor, picked up the information she had just recorded, and walked towards the room behind her.
Before long, Leora returned to the forefront.
He neatly and efficiently handed a bag full of gold coins to Raymond.
"It's helpful, but not much," Leora said. "The locations you encountered are quite similar, but some details don't match what we've already investigated."
Raymond said "Oh," then hefted the bag in his hand and asked, "How many?"
"There are 318 gold coins in total."
"So much?!" Raymond looked at Leora in surprise and asked, "Is this information that valuable?"
"Uh..." Leora stammered with a laugh, "Didn't your team turn in the 'Goblin' quest on the first floor? I thought I'd save you a trip, so I brought your quest rewards over as well."
"So little..." Raymond looked at Leora with a dejected expression.
The intelligence reward plus the mission reward only amounted to a little over three hundred gold coins.
If Raymond had completed the mission normally, he would have made a profit, but things didn't go as planned, and they were attacked by snake people.
They don't even know if they'll have enough money to replace their team's weapons and buy medicine...
"Are you short of money right now?" Leora asked, looking at Raymond's expression.
"A little..."
"I have money! You can borrow it from me!" Leora's eyes lit up at the suggestion, then she added, "But you know the old rules, right..."
After saying that, Leora gave Raymond a flirty wink.
"Forget it, I'm not that poor yet," Raymond quickly shook his head and refused.
"What a pity..."
"Let's go." Raymond didn't linger any longer, waved his hand, and left the second floor.
The squad's armor and weapons are now damaged to varying degrees, and they've even used up most of their life-saving potions.
The most urgent task is to replenish all these supplies; otherwise, the mission cannot be completed.
------
No sooner had someone left the "Iron Forge" north of the town than Raymond and his group stepped inside.
The owner of "Ironforge" is the dwarf "Uftar Ironbreaker," who can't help but laugh whenever he sees Raymond.
"Hey! Raymond's here again!" Uftal put down the ore he was holding and stood up enthusiastically.
Raymond handed the broken greatsword to Uftar and asked:
"Can it be fixed?"
Uftar took the greatsword, tapped it with his fingers, and carefully examined the notch.
"Fortunately, the nick isn't at the tip of the blade," Uftal said. "If we really wanted to fix it, it wouldn't be impossible."
"How much will the repair cost?" Raymond asked expectantly.
"30 gold coins!"
"I think I'll switch to another one..."
