The explanations of cause and effect and karma by his master and Yu Xiangke were very helpful to Su Baichen. In addition, the personal experience shown to him by the "Stone of Bondage" made him feel more deeply about the mystery.

And it was through this profound realization that he gradually came to understand the meaning of karma.

It is not simply a matter of good and evil, reward and punishment, but a punishment for disrupting the original laws governing the world.

He asked, "Is there a way to see my own karma?"

According to his thinking, his karma should already be very heavy, after all, tens of thousands of dead souls in the Ten Thousand Souls Banner wail every day... Lord Shangshan replied: "I have a technique here called 'Taiyin Qingzhao,' which is a secret method derived from the ancient lineage of my sect, the 'Taiyin Yuanzun True Scripture.' It can illuminate one's own cause and effect karma, helping the cultivator to understand their own situation and correct their cultivation direction."

"Since you need it, I'll send it to you."

However, Yu Xiangke cautioned, "While the 'Taiyin Qingzhao' method is good, you must not take it as the standard for everything, otherwise you will lose yourself and it would be better not to learn it at all."

Su Baichen realized what was happening and immediately agreed.

"Taiyin Qingzhao" is also very simple: sit under the bright moon on a clear night, and then let the moonlight shine on your soul to see the cause and effect of good and evil.

The formula is simple, but there are many difficulties in doing it.

First, one must perceive the moonlight; then comes the most difficult part: how to draw upon it. Finally, one must ensure that one's soul can withstand the moonlight's rays…

After all, the Taiyin Moon Essence is the innate Yin power, which is something that ordinary cultivators cannot withstand.

Speaking of which, the reason why few people practice the ancient "Taiyin Yuanzun True Scripture" is also related to the fact that few people in this era have a soul that can withstand the power of the Taiyin Moon Essence.

As for what kind of problems the moon's radiance might bring to people?

Su Baichen didn't know yet, but this "Taiyin Qingzhao" was actually a great opportunity to experience it.

According to the master, this "Taiyin Qingzhao" was even a threshold used by the early Yin Sect ancestors to judge whether a disciple was suitable to cultivate the "Taiyin Yuanzun True Scripture".

However, over the next few hundred or even thousand years, no qualified disciple emerged, so "Taiyin Qingzhao" and the "Taiyin Yuanzun True Scripture" were gradually shelved.

However, he is currently only cultivating "Taiyin Qingzhao" and does not need to consider anything else.

He used his spiritual senses to perceive the essence of the moon, following the incantation passed down by his master.

This was somewhat difficult at first; he seemed to know the "how" but not the "why." In fact, the night is inherently dominated by Yin, making it difficult for him to distinguish between Taiyin and Xuanyin.

But just then, the little fox beside him seemed to know what was troubling him...

It suddenly raised its head to look at the moon, and then slowly its whole body was bathed in a silvery light like moonlight.

This is practically a live demonstration!

Well, this little fox truly deserves the reward for his good deeds.

He also raised his head, gazing at the moon in quiet contemplation... and slowly, he sensed the presence of that wisp of lunar light. He then guided that wisp of moonlight into his brow, to illuminate his karmic obstacles...

The sliver of silver moonlight, upon entering his soul, was instantly stained crimson, then dissipated into mist... Within the crimson mist, Su Baichen saw the scene of himself slaughtering two hundred Imperial Guards that day...

He had forgotten those faces, but now they were displayed before his eyes with unparalleled clarity…

He was completely unmoved by it.

He clearly remembered why he had killed them.

But the next moment, these blood shadows exploded again, transforming into different scenes...

There were widows and orphans who had lost their husbands, elderly people without anyone to care for them, and women who wept because they couldn't wait for their loved ones...

One by one, people connected to these individuals appeared in these scenes, and their fates were forever altered as a result.

These changes transformed into a crimson glow, which coiled around Su Baichen like flames... Oh, Su Baichen was in his soul state at this moment.

He was merely a fragile soul, lacking physical cultivation and not yet having begun cultivating his primordial spirit.

But he was not afraid of it.

Because he didn't waver at all as he looked at everything in the crimson glow, he simply felt that he had done what he should do and could face it all with equanimity.

The crimson glow enveloped Su Baichen's soul, burning it like flames... This was karmic fire.

This karmic fire is more like an interrogation of the soul, constantly burning and questioning him, trying to make him bow his head and "confess".

The problem is that Su Baichen doesn't think he's done anything wrong, so no matter how much the karmic fire burns, it can't shake him in the slightest.

Gradually, the karmic fire subsided...

Originally, even if this karmic fire were to wane, it should have continued to burn on Su Baichen's soul until a loophole appeared in his heart, at which point it could be seized...

But at that moment, a roar from the ancient wilderness completely suppressed the karmic fire, forcing it to retreat into the shadows of his soul and hide carefully.

They are the ancestors of the Soul-Suppressing Sword!

Clearly, this sword of humane protection has its own criteria for judgment and can help Su Baichen resist the karmic fire.

At this moment, the clear moonlight reappeared, illuminating his soul and gradually making it bright and clear.

Su Baichen felt as if his soul had been cleansed, as if it had been washed away of all filth and impurities, and he was finally able to be a pure person again. At this moment, Su Baichen had a different understanding of "Taiyin Qingzhao".

This secret method not only allows one to see one's own karmic obstacles, but also helps one to recognize one's inner self and purify one's soul!

He was fascinated by the feeling of spiritual clarity, but he soon realized something more important... He had killed so many formless beings, so why didn't he see them in his karmic retribution?

To be honest, compared to the Imperial Guards who committed unforgivable crimes, Su Baichen felt more moved by the many times he took action against the seemingly ordinary Wuxiang people.

But what about these scenarios?

This question had been on his mind for a long time, and he had some guesses in his mind that he was unsure if they were correct.

He sat quietly all night, waiting for the next day when his fellow disciples had finished their morning prayers before he went to his grandmaster for answers.

"Bai Chen, did you try 'Taiyin Qingzhao' last night?"

The voice of the Supreme Daoist Master carried a hint of surprise, "I noticed just now that your soul was radiating a clear, moonlit aura. This is a manifestation of cleansing the soul with moonlight... Haha, I never expected that this ancient tradition, which I thought had become extinct, would find a suitable successor again!"

Before Su Baichen could speak, Daoist Shangshan found a point of excitement himself.

But in reality, Su Baichen wasn't very interested in this matter.

After all, he was doing well cultivating the "Mysterious Yin Qi Technique," and the path ahead was clear. He could succeed by following his grandmaster, master, and senior brothers. Why bother trying the outdated "Taiyin Yuanzun True Scripture"? At least for now, there was no rush.

"Grandmaster, let's discuss this matter later. How about we talk about the Formless Ones first?"

Su Baichen changed the subject.

To be honest, he just didn't want to step out of his comfort zone.
