Shouzhuo is living a very fulfilling life in Hengdian.

During the days Chen Shouyi was away, he had become quite familiar with Guo Hu and his stunt team. He would report to the open space next to the studio every day on time, even more diligently than some of the actors in the crew.

He took apart and reassembled the moves repeatedly, filling most of his notebook with notes.

However, I got stuck today.

Guo Hu squatted down on the side, a cigarette dangling from his mouth, staring at the movement markings taped to the ground for a long time. Finally, he couldn't resist throwing the cigarette butt on the ground and stomping it out.

"Brother, if you ask me, don't overthink it."

"Let's use a stunt double. Find someone in the stunt business with a similar build to Teacher Chen; that's better than having someone teach actors on the spot. Actors are more likely to get injured if they do it themselves; Yao Yichen is still in the hospital."

Shouzhuo remained silent for a while, then nodded.

He was quite unwilling, but there was really nothing he could do. He had promised Chen Yao two days ago that he would make adjustments, but after two days of adjustments, there was still no result.

"Alright, let's leave it at that for now. We'll see if my master can help us when he gets back."

"That's more like it." Guo Hu walked over and put his arm around Shou Zhuo's shoulder. "Come on, let's go for a drink tonight."

"Wine or beer?"

"Let's drink beer, we have to work tomorrow."

"OK."

The two were walking out arm in arm when Shouzhuo suddenly caught a glimpse of a figure rushing straight toward them at great speed.

He stared at it intently, and froze on the spot.

Jin Chen.

It's her again.

She was still wearing her costume, clearly having slipped over during a break in filming.

She took large, hurried steps, and the hem of her costume fluttered backward in the wind, looking from afar like a flag going to war.

Shouzhuo immediately looked away and lowered his voice to Guo Hu, saying, "Brother Hu, I'll treat you later. I'll be leaving now—"

He had just taken a step when a crisp sound came from behind him.

"Shouzhuo! Stay there and don't leave!"

Shouzhuo shrugged, his whole demeanor deflated.

Guo Hu chuckled gloatingly, patted him on the shoulder, and took a few steps back.

Jin Chen walked a few steps to Shou Zhuo. She took a breath, then put her hands on her hips and spoke directly:

"Shouzhuo, when is your master coming back?!"

And yet again, it's this problem.

Shouzhu forced a smile, turned around, and respectfully bowed with his hands clasped: "Benefactor Jin, as I have already said, I truly do not know when my master will return."

This is the fourth time Jin Chen has asked the same question, and every time he starts with the same line, without changing a single word.

Shouzhuo silently calculated in his mind that Jin Chen's frequency of visits had increased from once every other day to now coming whenever he had free time.

If this continues, he suspects that this woman might build a shed next to the martial arts studio and live there.

"Didn't you say he'd be back in the next couple of days? It's been days already!"

"Uh—what I mean is probably true," Shouzhuo said awkwardly, rubbing his hands together. "Well, it's not necessarily true. I really don't know exactly when Master will be back. He only said he'd be back once he finished his business."

"Is that matter finished yet?"

"……I don't know either."

"How come you, as my apprentice, know nothing!" Jin Chen complained angrily.

Shouzhuo screamed inwardly: Even though I am his apprentice, my master doesn't report his schedule to me!

However, he could only say these words in his heart, while on the surface he still maintained that honest and unassuming appearance:

"Benefactor Jin, why don't you just contact my master? He'll definitely reply to your message."

"He just replied 'Soon!'" Jin Chen got even angrier when he said that, and showed Shou Zhuo his phone screen.

She sent Chen Shouyi a WeChat message, and his replies were always things like "Soon," "I still have things to take care of," and "I'll talk to you when I get back." He replied to the messages promptly, but the content was as if he hadn't replied at all.

Shouzhuo was silent for a moment, then looked up with a sincere expression: "Benefactor Jin, if Master says it's soon, then it must be soon."

Jin Chen took a deep breath and put his phone back in his pocket.

She knew she was being foolish; if her apprentice said he didn't know, then he truly didn't know.

But she couldn't help but come over and ask. Ever since she found out that Chen Shouyi was going to play Zhuo Yun, she had been wanting to have a good talk with him. And what happened?

The person disappeared the next day.

What a load of rubbish.

This wasn't even the most annoying thing for her.

What annoyed Jin Chen the most was the news she heard: A Xiu's episode script had been adjusted, and the scenes between Chen Yao and Chen Shouyi had been increased significantly, including romantic scenes.

The thought of this made her feel uncomfortable. She had realized last time that Chen Yao was definitely interested in Chen Shouyi as well.

They seem quiet and unassuming most of the time, but what happens in the end?

She quietly started acting as a couple with the Taoist priest.

We spend every day together, what if things turn out to be real... then what was the point of all the hard work I've put in all this time?

That's why she kept coming here. She asked, "When is your master coming back?" but in her heart she really wanted to ask, "Has your master been getting too close to Chen Yao?"

Shouzhuo stood there, feeling uncomfortable under Jin Chen's gaze.

He's really bad at dealing with girls, especially those who are clearly emotional.

He quietly moved half a step to the side, hiding half his body behind Guo Hu, hoping that this benefactor Jin would quickly give up interrogating him.

Guo Hu's eyes darted back and forth between Jin Chen and Shou Zhuo, then he slowly grinned, revealing a standard smile of someone watching a show.

"Teacher Jin," Guo Hu interjected, "what brings you to Master Qingquan's place? Why are you in such a hurry?"

Jin Chen then noticed a group of martial arts brothers standing nearby, all of them listening intently.

She cleared her throat, lowered her hands from her hips, smoothed her hair, and tried to appear less anxious.

"It's nothing serious, I just wanted to chat with the Taoist priest. He read my palm before, and I'd like to ask him about some details."

Guo Hu wondered why you were in such a hurry to read my palm, but he didn't call me out on it; he just smiled and nodded.

"The Taoist priest should be back soon; he's been gone for several days."

Before the words were finished, a burst of laughter and chatter came from outside the shed area.

Several people turned their heads to look at the same time.

On the antique-style stone-paved road diagonally opposite, two people are walking side by side towards this side.

The one on the right walks at a leisurely pace, yet his posture is as upright as a pine tree.

The one on the left is talking to him with her head tilted to the side, a smile on her lips.

Jin Chen's smile froze on his face, and then he spat inwardly.

Chen Yao!

She arrived so quickly! I always have to ask Shouzhuo for information, but she just quietly intercepted the person.

As soon as Shouzhuo turned his head and saw that figure, his previous expression of utter despair vanished instantly, his face lit up, and without saying a word, he took off running towards that direction.

"Master!"

Chen Shouyi stopped in his tracks upon hearing the shout.

Shouzhuo had already run up to him, his face beaming with genuine joy: "Master, you're finally back!"

"What are you yelling about?" Chen Shouyi glanced at him, then at the figure walking towards them not far away, before looking away and raising an eyebrow slightly at Shouzhuo.

"You haven't caused me any trouble these past few days, have you?"

"Of course not, Master, you know me," Shouzhuo said confidently, patting his chest.

Chen Shouyi grunted in response, his gaze sweeping over Shouzhuo's back. Guo Huchong bowed to him, and several martial arts brothers also clasped their fists in greeting.

Then his gaze fell on the figure that was approaching at an astonishing speed.

Jin Chen walked forward first, but before she could speak, she noticed a quiet gaze coming from the side.

She turned her head and met Chen Yao's gaze.

Their eyes met silently in the air.

One stood aggressively, while the other stood quietly beside Chen Shouyi.

Jin Chen withdrew his gaze, deciding to ignore the scheming Yao. When he turned to Chen Shouyi, a smile had already appeared on his face, carrying a hint of complaint and a touch of coquetry:

"Master, why have you been gone for so many days! You're finally back!"

Chen Shouyi nodded: "There are some matters to attend to in Shanghai. I apologize for keeping you waiting, Benefactor Jin."

"Of course I've been waiting a long time! I've been looking for you several times! I've had a ton of questions I wanted to ask you lately!"

After Jin Chen finished speaking, he finally turned his gaze to Chen Yao, his smile still bright.

"Teacher Chen, you're here too! What a coincidence!"
