Chapter 19 Ocean Butterflies Singer

The next morning, Song Mo called An Ming.

The phone rang twice before being answered. An Ming's voice came through the receiver, "Feed?"

"Uncle, are you up yet?"

"Hey, Xiao Song?"

"Yes, this is my phone number. Remember to save it," Song Mo said with a smile.

After saying goodbye to the two people yesterday, he went to China Mobile to choose a number for himself.

After all, I've already got my hands on the Nokia; I can't just use it to play Snake.

"Okay, I've saved it," Anming replied readily.

Song Mo continued, "Brother An, come with me today to handle the signing."

An Ming also snapped out of his daze, "Oops, I didn't get into character right away. Okay, where are you? I'll come find you."

"Meet me at the intersection in Sanlitun."

"Okay, twenty minutes."

After hanging up the phone, Song Mo put his phone in his pocket and went out.

The sunlight was even stronger than yesterday, shining on the dusty apartment buildings and making even the peeling paint on the walls look brighter.

The old man selling breakfast at the alley entrance was packing up when he saw him come out and greeted him with a smile: "Little Song, you look great today."

"Good morning, Uncle Zhang." Song Mo nodded and walked out with light steps.

When he arrived at the intersection, Anming was already waiting there.

He was wearing a clean white shirt and his hair was combed, looking much more energetic than his usual unkempt appearance at the bar.

Song Mo looked him up and down and chuckled, "Brother An, you look great today."

An Ming laughed: "Of course, this is my first time appearing as your manager, I can't let you down."

The two hailed a taxi and headed straight for Ocean Butterflies' office.

The office of Ocean Butterflies is located in a bungalow in Balizhuang, Chaoyang District. There are no particularly conspicuous landmarks, but the facade is clean and neat.

There are two neatly trimmed holly bushes at the entrance, and next to them stands a stainless steel sign that reads "Ocean Butterflies Music Co., Ltd." in English, with "Ocean Butterflies Music" below.

Pushing open the door, the lobby wasn't large, but it was very clean and tidy.

A young woman with a ponytail was sitting at the front desk. Seeing them enter, she smiled and stood up: "Hello, who are you looking for?"

"Teacher Bi invited us."

"You must be Song Mo? Teacher Bi is waiting for you in the conference room." The girl's eyes lit up, and she immediately came forward to lead the way.

Entering Ocean Butterflies' office area, there were very few people, and the corridor was quiet, with a few Ocean Butterflies record posters hanging on the wall.

At the end of the corridor is a frosted glass door; push it open and you'll find a conference room that's neither too big nor too small.

An oval-shaped long table, several black leather chairs, and a potted green ivy in the corner, growing quite lushly.

The window was open, and the white gauze curtains swayed slightly in the breeze.

Bi Xiaoshi and Xu Yuan were already waiting inside. When they saw them come in, they both stood up.

"Xiao Song, you're here!" Bi Xiaoshi said with a smile, his voice filled with a sense of relief.

Xu Yuan smiled and nodded, his gaze falling on An Ming, and he paused slightly.

Song Mo stepped aside and introduced, "Teacher Bi, Teacher Xu, this is my agent, An Ming. We'll likely need to contact him about many things in the future."

An Ming stepped forward and extended his hand: "Hello, Teacher Bi. Hello, Teacher Xu."

Bi Xiaoshi shook hands with him, glanced at him, and said with a smile, "We met yesterday. Mr. An, you come from a music background?"

"I played in a band in the US for a few years, and after returning to China, I spent some time in bars," Anming answered frankly.

"That's perfect, you know your stuff." Bi Xiaoshi nodded without asking any further questions.

Just then, Song Mo noticed that there was another person sitting in the corner of the conference room.

A young woman, around twenty years old, wearing a light pink short-sleeved shirt, with her hair down, delicate features and a touch of baby fat, sat quietly, observing them with curious eyes.

Song Mo looked closely, and a name suddenly popped into his mind: Jin Sha.

She just starred in "Eighteen-Year-Old Sky" this year, making her arguably the first person to star in a mainland Chinese idol drama.

While Song Mo was sizing her up, Jin Sha was also sizing up the two of them.

He's so handsome he could star in an idol drama; he has striking features, a tall and slender figure, and he's like a spotlight just by standing there.

The other one was tall and thin, with a bit of long hair, wearing a shirt, and looked like he was a musician.

She couldn't help but wonder, which of these two people was the genius that Teacher Bi had mentioned?

Bi Xiaoshi spoke up: "Xiao Song, let me introduce you. This is Jin Sha, a new artist we just signed with Ocean Butterflies."

Song Mo nodded, walked over, and stood in front of Jin Sha.

Jinsha looked up and met his gaze.

"Senior sister, my name is Song Mo. Please take care of me in the future." Song Mo smiled and extended her hand.

"Hello, just call me Jinsha. I'm new here too, let's look after each other." She quickly stood up, extended her hand, and shook hands with Song Mo.

Although it's common to categorize employees as "senior" or "senior" within the same company based on their seniority, in the entertainment industry, where fame and fortune are paramount, status is still a sensitive issue.

She's currently in Ocean Butterflies' internal training phase, and album production hasn't even started yet. On the other hand, she heard from Xu Yuan yesterday that they'll arrange for him to release an album as soon as possible.

By then, who will take care of whom is really uncertain.

"Alright, alright, you've all met now." Bi Xiaoshi clapped his hands. "Jinsha, you can go out now. Teacher Chen is still waiting for you."

Jinsha nodded obediently. The reason she was waiting here was to meet Song Mo.

Currently, Ocean Butterflies Music in Beijing only has two artists, Xiaoxiami and Xiaoxiami. As Ocean Butterflies' only artists, they naturally need to greet each other first.

After Jinsha left, Bi Xiaoshi said, "Xiao Song, let's talk about serious matters."

Several people sat down at the conference table, and Bi Xiaoshi took out a contract from his briefcase and pushed it in front of Song Mo.

"This is the one from yesterday. The terms are all based on what we discussed yesterday. Take another look, and if there are no problems, you can sign it."

Song Mo took the contract and flipped through it page by page. An Ming also came over, and the two of them looked at it together.

The meeting room fell silent, save for the sound of turning pages.

Song Mo looked at it very carefully, pausing to check each page.

An Ming wasn't idle either, pointing to a clause every now and then to confirm with Song Mo.

After about ten minutes, Song Mo turned to the last page of the contract and nodded.

"no problem."

He picked up the pen on the table and wrote his name in the signature area.

The moment the pen touched the paper, Bi Xiaoshi and Xu Yuan exchanged a glance, and smiles appeared on their faces.

That smile carried a sense of relief and a hint of anticipation.

Song Mo put down his pen and pushed the contract over.

Bi Xiaoshi took it, looked at the signature, then at Xu Yuan, and they both smiled.

"Xiao Song," Bi Xiaoshi extended his hand, "Congratulations on joining Ocean Butterflies. Let's work hard together from now on."

Song Mo grasped his hand: "Thank you, Teacher Bi."

Xu Yuan also extended his hand: "From now on, we're on the same side."

Anming watched from the side, feeling a little emotional. Just two months ago, this kid was singing in a bar in Sanlitun and living in a basement eating instant noodles.

He is now a signed singer with Ocean Butterflies.
