Chapter 120 The Favored Ones Are Fearless

Chapter 120 The Favored Ones Are Fearless

The car quickly stopped at the entrance of the residential area. Liu Xiaoli, preoccupied with her own thoughts, immediately got out of the car.

Liu Yifei deliberately lagged behind, and only after her mother had walked a little further away did she quickly turn back to look at Song Mo and whisper, "I'll call you tonight."

Song Mo nodded, and Liu Yifei closed the car door and followed her mother into the residential area.

That evening, Song Mo had just finished showering when his phone rang. Liu Yifei's voice came from the other end of the line, sounding muffled.

"Did my mom scare you today?" she asked, her tone a little guilty.

"It's alright." Song Mo leaned back on the sofa, drying his hair with a towel. "Your mom is quite warm and welcoming."

Liu Yifei scoffed, "That's what you call enthusiasm? She's interrogating a criminal. You have no idea, she started nagging as soon as you left, saying things like the entertainment industry is complicated, you're young and naive, and don't get fooled. I heard it the whole way."

Song Mo laughed: "Your mother is right, the entertainment industry is indeed complicated, and you are young and do not know any better."

"You're the one who doesn't know any better!" Liu Yifei's voice rose half an octave before quickly falling back down.

"I'm already seventeen, and I'll be an adult in a few months. Besides, when I was filming, everyone on the crew praised me for being sensible."

"That just proves that you really don't know any better."

"Song Mo, do you really have to argue with me?"

Song Mo chuckled but didn't reply.

There was a few seconds of silence on the other end of the phone. Liu Yifei's voice lowered, with a hint of inexplicable grievance: "I really don't want to go to Hengdian. I finally got to stay at school for a while and just got used to this rhythm. Now I have to leave again. Besides, this drama will be filmed for several months. I probably won't be able to come back for the Chinese New Year."

Song Mo gave a wry smile, thought for a moment, and then asked, "Qianqian, do you know how many people are eyeing the 'Legend of Sword and Fairy' book?"

Liu Yifei remained silent.

"You don't get many opportunities in your life, but you have to seize the ones you should. If your brother had introduced me to someone from Ocean Butterflies and I hadn't agreed, I might still be singing in a bar now."

"I'm not saying this to lecture you, but just to let you know that this opportunity you have is something many people dream of. It's normal that you feel uncomfortable and tired. But since you've accepted it, do your best, don't let this opportunity down, and don't let yourself down."

Liu Yifei was stunned. No one had ever told her these things before. Since returning to China, she had been very lucky, with one opportunity after another. Therefore, she had no idea how rare these opportunities were.

There was a few seconds of silence on the other end of the phone, then Liu Yifei's voice came through, softer than before, but with a hint of recognition.

Zhen: "Understood."

"When I get back from Singapore, if I have time, I'll come to see you on set. What gift would you like?" Song Mo asked, changing his tone as needed.

"Really?" Liu Yifei's voice lit up suddenly, then quickly subsided, returning to her haughty tone. "You'd better tell me in advance, I'm very busy, you need to make an appointment beforehand, otherwise you might not be able to see me."

Song Mo smiled and said, "Okay, I'll make an appointment then."

After hanging up the phone, Song Mo put his phone on the coffee table and stared at the ceiling for a few seconds.

As expected, what you can't have always stirs your heart, while those who are favored take it all for granted.

Du Hua was even more efficient than he had expected. By the next morning, all the arrangements, including the plane tickets, visas, and coordination with the Singapore side, were in place.

Looking at the densely packed notes on the schedule, Song Mo had to admit that hiring this assistant was the right decision.

The plane landed in Singapore at around 2 p.m.

The air at Changi Airport remained the same: humid and hot, with a distinctly tropical feel.

Song Mo and Du Hua dragged their luggage out of the arrival hall and immediately spotted Lin Junjie.

He was wearing a white T-shirt with a light blue shirt over it, and his hat was pulled low as usual, held up...

A cardboard sign with the two large characters "Songmo" written on it.

Seeing Song Mo come out, he threw the cardboard aside, smiled and went up to greet him, opening his arms to give Song Mo a hug.

"Junior brother, long time no see!" Lin Junjie patted his back, his tone warm. "Did you miss me?"

Song Mo was a little breathless from his hug, and she smiled as she pushed him away: "Xiang, you promised to take me to broaden my horizons last time."

Lin Junjie laughed heartily, turned to look at Du Hua, and sized her up: "And who is this?"

"This is my assistant, Du Hua," Song Mo introduced. "This is Lin Junjie, my senior, and also a singer with Ocean Butterflies Music."

The two shook hands and exchanged a few pleasantries.

Lin Junjie helped them carry their luggage to the parking lot, saying as they walked, "I heard you were coming, so I specially asked my teacher for leave to come and pick you up. My album is also just starting to be prepared, and I haven't officially entered the studio yet, so I happen to have some free time."

Song Mo glanced at him: "Your album has started too?"

"Yeah, I just got a few songs, and I'm still picking them out." Lin Junjie's tone was casual, but Song Mo could tell that he took his album very seriously, but he just didn't want to talk about the pressure.

The two got into the car, and Lin Junjie started the engine and drove out of the airport.

As they chatted, Song Mo suddenly remembered A-Du and asked, "Senior brother, how's Senior Brother A-Du's new movie going?"

"Didn't we say we'd shoot it quickly?"

Lin Junjie's smile faded slightly, and he sighed, "It's aborted. There were some problems with the investors, the funds were withdrawn, and the project was stopped. Senior Brother A-Du is quite disappointed. You should be able to see him when you stay in Singapore for a while, but don't mention this matter then."

Song Mo nodded. He hadn't expected A-Du's first experience with electricity to end like this. It could only be said that he was truly unlucky.

After driving for more than half an hour, we parked the car in front of a row of apartment buildings.

Song Mo looked around. It was very quiet. Rows of palm trees lined both sides of the street, and the reflection of the sea could be seen in the distance.

He nodded, thanked Lin Junjie, and went upstairs with Du Hua.

The apartment is small, with one bedroom and one living room, but it is very clean and fully furnished, with air conditioning, a refrigerator, and a water heater.

Song Mo put down his luggage, stood on the balcony and looked out. The palm leaves swayed gently in the wind, and several cargo ships were slowly moving on the distant sea.

In Singapore, the afternoon sun is strong, but the wind is cool.

Du Hua was organizing documents in the living room, and without looking up, she said, "I have an appointment with Professor Lin Qiuli at Ocean Butterflies tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM."

We met at headquarters. Today is a free day; you can explore the area and get used to the surroundings.

Song Mo laughed: "Your work pace is even faster than mine."

"I'm used to it." Du Hua tidied up the documents and put them in her bag. "When I was at 8848, it was common for me to fly to three cities a day. This amount of work is nothing."

She helped Song Mo pack his things and then prepared to leave.

"Where do you live?" Song Mo asked curiously.

"I'm staying at a nearby hotel. Just contact me anytime if you need anything," Du Hua said readily.

She was, after all, Song Mo's assistant, and had nothing to do with Hai Die, so Hai Die didn't care about her accommodation.
