The round of 64 to 32 took place the day after the draw.

During the draw ceremony, all the captains of the advancing teams were present, and the matchups were announced on the spot. Luo Yun stood in the crowd, listening to the teacher on stage read out the matchup lists one by one.

"Class 3, Luo Yun's team, versus Class 14, Chen Hao's team."

Luo Yun memorized the name. Class 14, Chen Hao. Never heard of him; he probably wasn't a strong team.

Chen Jiyong, standing beside him, breathed a sigh of relief: "As long as it's not one of those two Soul Masters."

Luo Yun glanced at him but didn't say anything.

After the draw, the three walked out of the Soul Battle Zone. Chen Jiyong was still talking about Class 14. Su Xiaowan walked on the other side, her expression calm, but Luo Yun noticed that she was listening to the discussions around her.

"We also have a Soul Master here," Su Xiaowan suddenly said. "He's from Class Two, named Qin Hao, he's in level thirty-one, he should be able to make it into the top sixteen."

Chen Jiyong's face turned pale again.

Luo Yun didn't reply and quickened her pace towards the dormitory. Behind her, Chen Jiyong and Su Xiaowan exchanged a glance and followed.

The round of 64 to 32 took place on the afternoon of the second day.

Their opponents were Chen Hao's team from Class 14. All three members were at the second level of the Soul Ring, with the highest Soul Power being level 22. Their Soul configurations were nothing special—one was a Strength-type Attack Soul, one was a Speed-type Agility-type Attack Soul, and one was a Control Soul.

Luo Yun did not use his second soul skill, nor did he use ice mist.

He only uses his fists.

Chen Jiyong's Earth Flow Wall blocked the sneak attack of the opposing agility-based attackers, Su Xiaowan's Flame Ray repelled the charge of the power-based attackers, and Luo Yun charged directly into the opposing formation, killing them one by one with a punch, ending the battle in less than two minutes.

The girl opposite him, who was in the control department, was knocked back beyond the boundary line by his punch. When she stood up, she rubbed her shoulder and looked at him as if he were a monster.

Chen Jiyong and Su Xiaowan didn't contribute much either. The entire match consisted of Luo Yun charging forward while the two of them finished off the enemies from behind. Their teamwork wasn't exactly seamless, but the opponents were too weak to need it.

The matchups for the round of 32 to 16 were only announced after all the round of 64 to 32 matches had been completed.

Luo Yun stood in front of the bulletin board, looking at the match schedule that had just been posted.

"Class 3, Luo Yun's team. Against Class 2, Qin Hao's team."

Chen Jiyong, standing next to him, suddenly turned pale.

"Qin Hao... that level 31 Soul Master?" His voice trembled slightly. "Brother Yun, we ran into him in the round of 32 to 16?"

Luo Yun remained silent. He stared at the name on the bulletin board, his mind racing to recall the information he had gathered earlier. Qin Hao, level 31, his martial soul was a Star Staff, a support type. The other two team members, one a defense type and the other a plant-type control type, had excellent teamwork and were undefeated in the points competition.

"Qin Hao's team from Class Two is ranked second in the points competition." Su Xiaowan stood on the other side, her voice calm. "A support-type Soul Master, a defensive-type front-line, and a control-type poison-using style, slowly wearing down the opponent."

Chen Jiyong swallowed hard: "Then how do we fight?"

Luo Yun didn't answer. He turned and walked towards the dormitory, took a few steps, stopped, and said something without turning his head.

"We'll talk about it when we get back."

Master Xuan hadn't originally planned to watch the elimination rounds so early.

The elimination rounds for freshmen were just a formality for him; truly promising talents wouldn't be revealed until the upper grades. But Wang Yan's words took him to heart.

"The freshman you're keeping an eye on will be playing tomorrow afternoon in the round of 32 to 16, against a team led by a Soul Master from Class 2," the assistant said.

"Soul Master?...Let's go take a look." He finally said those words.

---

The next afternoon, the stands in the Fighting Spirit area were packed with people.

Not only students from Class 3, but also many students from other classes came. The round of 64 to 32 wasn't very interesting, but the round of 32 to 16 was a different story, especially with such a strong matchup between two teams.

As Luo Yun entered the Soul Fighting Zone, a commotion arose in the stands. He didn't look up, walking straight to the rest area, with Chen Jiyong and Su Xiaowan following behind.

"Brother Yun, there are so many people," Chen Jiyong said softly, his voice a little strained.

"Ignore them." Luo Yun flexed his wrists.

Chen Jiyong nodded and took a deep breath.

Su Xiaowan stood to the side, her arms crossed over her chest, her eyes fixed on the rest area opposite. Across from her, three people in blue college uniforms were standing together talking, the tallest boy in the middle smiling and saying something to the person next to him.

That's Qin Hao, level 31, with the Martial Soul Star Staff.

To his left stood a fat man with broad shoulders, thick arms, and dark skin, standing there like a wall. To his right stood a tall, thin man with pale skin, long, slender fingers, and a faint smile playing on his lips.

"Defense-type, plant-type control," Luo Yun said in a low voice. "The fat guy probably has a defensive martial soul, while the skinny guy uses the Ghost Poison Vine, a poison-type that slowly drains your health."

Chen Jiyong nodded. Su Xiaowan also looked away.

"Remember," Luo Yun said, "don't use earthwork walls for defense."

Chen Jiyong was taken aback: "No need for the earthwork wall?"

"I've studied the tactics of that defensive character on the other side. His defense is buffed, so it's hard to break through in a short time." Luo Yun looked at him. "You use Earth Flow Wall to restrict his movement. I'll use Ice Mist to control him. If we don't let him stand firm, he can't act as a shield for the backline."

"What about the back row?"

"Su Xiaowan and I rushed in."

Chen Jiyong opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but seeing Luo Yun's eyes, he swallowed his words back.

"Su Xiaowan." Luo Yun turned to look at her. "Stay close to me and don't fall behind. Once we're in the back row, attack that support first. Even if a Soul Master is strong, he's still a support. If his buffs are interrupted, he's just a squishy character."

Su Xiaowan nodded.

"superior."

The three of them left the rest area and headed towards the Soul Battle Arena.

---

In the stands, in the corner of the last row, Elder Xuan sat in an inconspicuous spot, holding a chicken leg in his hand. He took a bite and squinted at the field.

"Class 3 Luo Yun's team versus Class 2 Qin Hao's team, both sides enter the arena." Wang Yan stood by the arena, holding the roster in his hand, his gaze sweeping over both sides. "Rules: Stop when you've made a point. Going out of bounds or surrendering results in a loss."

Qin Hao stood on the Soul Battle Platform, his Star Staff gleaming silvery-white in the sunlight. He glanced at Luo Yun opposite him, a slight smile playing on his lips.

"Both sides, prepare." Wang Yan raised his hand.

Luo Yun took a deep breath and activated his Martial Soul. Ice-blue light surged from his body, covering his arms and upper body, and the dense ice-blue feathers gleamed coldly in the sunlight.

Chess pieces appeared beneath Chen Jiyong's feet, their earthen-yellow light swirling around him. Su Xiaowan's hands ignited with orange-red flames, and her eyes transformed into vertical pupils.

Opposite him, Qin Hao's Star Staff glowed with a pale blue light, and three spirit rings slowly rotated around him—two yellow and one purple, his third spirit ring after a thousand years. A layer of grayish-brown stone armor appeared on the fat man's body, with two yellow spirit rings. The thin man's hands turned dark green, with slender vines growing from his fingertips, covered in fine thorns, and two yellow spirit rings.

Wang Yan's gaze swept over both of them, and his raised hand slowly fell.

"start."

Luo Yun did not hesitate.

"Rush."

He was the first to rush out.
