America? No, it's the warp!

Chapter 47 The True American

In the bustling veterans' pub, patrons exchanged the new knowledge they had learned at noon, drinking and dancing along the way.

Meanwhile, at the bar, three people looked at each other in bewilderment.

It took Stephen a while to figure out what was going on. The deputy director used some information that was already known to the outside world to get Logan to drink four glasses of underground stout.

This bitter liquor isn't on the menu because nobody orders it; it's too bitter. Americans have a sweet tooth and prefer sweeter drinks.

The bar owner dropped all pretense; his smile never stopped after Stephen walked in.

Nothing beats making an American drink four bitter cups in a row.

A new glass of mead was placed in front of Logan, at his insistence.

He drank it sip by sip, using the extremely sweet homemade wine to dilute the bitterness in his throat.

"Phew~"

He exhaled a sweet breath.

"You knew I was here to see you the moment I walked in?"

"Of course not, if you hadn't said so yourself I would have thought you just came here to drink."

"..."

Logan frowned and gave the boss a sharp look.

"But you tricked me, so have another cup of mead."

The boss took another glass, his smile undiminished.

"Where's the fun in this? You drink, I give you information, it's a win-win situation."

Logan's eyebrows were twisted into a pretzel.

"It's my fault. I should have realized it sooner. Opening the shop at two in the morning, and choosing this location, I should have known you were the deputy director."

"Anyway, none of that matters anymore. What do you want from me?"

Logan put down his glass, sighed, and said, "To make a long story short..."

"The Blood Gang and I have caught the mastermind behind a jade robbery, along with three accomplices who were harboring him. We were thinking of sending them to you."

Why did you choose me?

The boss's smile faded, and he became extremely serious when discussing business.

Logan lowered his voice:

"We all know that the fat pig bureau chief is colluding with the crippled gang."

And Stephen…

He glanced at the young white man who had gone out in the middle of the night and was drinking juice not far away.

"His position is too low to fight back, so the most suitable candidate is a deputy director who has no ties to gangs."

If handed over to other police officers, they might be released the next day.

The boss nodded, agreeing with the reason. Apart from him, no one in the police station dared to openly oppose the chief.

"So, Logan, what's the price?"

His eyes were fixed on Logan, which was somewhat unsettling.

"It's not really a price to pay, the Blood Gang wants to cooperate with you..."

"No way!"

The boss's attitude was very firm.

"My bottom line is not to cooperate with gangs. If I didn't like you, I would have kicked you out as soon as you said you were cooperating with the Blood Gang."

Logan wasn't going to give up, and continued to persuade him:

"You're not acting like an American at all. I'm not asking you to collude with the Bloods, I'm just asking you to work with the Bloods to take down the Cripples, so you can bring down the chief and take over."

"Take down the Crippled Gang? Then let the Blood Gang control the entire Vanguard Square? The Crippled Gang runs a huge pornography industry in the north, and what good is the Blood Gang anyway? Besides being the owners of countless leaf shops, they also secretly sell all sorts of enhancement drugs on the streets, and they even frequently drive a refrigerated truck to various homeless gathering points to collect corpses after a cold, rainy night!"

The boss became increasingly agitated as he spoke, but he kept his voice low. He added at the end,

"Furthermore, people like me are the true Americans."

There's a lot of information; Logan needs to organize it.

He knew all of the Blood Gang's businesses and had been in close contact with them all.

This is the first time I've heard of the Crippled Gang's business. No wonder the system always calls it the Slaanesh Cult. If this logic holds true, will the system call it the Blood Gang's Neggot Cult?

If the boss is telling the truth, then he can indeed be called a true American.

Logan thought he should raise the bar:

"I will also send the other two main culprits over within three days. The Blood Gang has already located them."

"So what? We may be a bit slow, but we'll catch them all sooner or later. The gang's help is only dispensable. Besides, these street thugs have no credibility. They've turned against each other now, and they might cause a big problem for the police at some point in the future."

The boss is right, gangsters have no credibility.

Whether it's the crippled gang leader Teren or the Blood gang leader Eddie.

They are both cunning individuals who treat their reputation like a one-time check.

Logan had no choice but to gesture for him to come closer and whisper some unspeakable words in his ear.

"I'm at odds with the leader of the crippled gang because he's the lover of my ex-wife, with whom I'm still married. I even made him lose face in front of my ex-wife."

The boss looked at him with surprise, wanting to say something comforting, but not knowing what to say, and finally just clicked his tongue.

Logan continued whispering:

"That's why I chose to cooperate with the Bloods, and that's why I want to cooperate with your police force. By the way, I'm not a member of the Bloods. And you should have noticed that I'm white."

"hiss……"

The boss glanced at him.

"That's something I did overlook. You're white, and the Bloods don't accept white people."

After thinking for about ten seconds, the boss gave his final answer:

"My answer remains the same: I will not cooperate with the Blood Gang. However, cooperation with you is possible. You are not a member of the Blood Gang. As for how you respond to the Blood Gang, that is your business."

"Okay! I'll take him to the police station right away."

Logan stood up halfway, then stopped in mid-air, his eyes shifting back and forth between the wine glass and the boss.

In just three seconds, the boss understood what he meant.

"I'll treat! I'll treat!"

"Okay! Thank you, boss! I'll definitely come back more often!"

"I think you should drink less. You've drunk so much and you're not even a little tipsy. I'm really afraid you'll drink me out of the bank."

Logan has a "slow-down" effect, so you basically don't feel anything when you drink alcohol.

He chuckled and turned to look for his two underlings, only to find them slumped on the bar.

Two soft-legged shrimps!

He had no choice but to bring Stephen along.

"Come on, Stephen, help your deputy chief arrest a few criminals."

"Why do I have to go again?"

"Stop talking nonsense! I've been drinking. Don't you know that you shouldn't drink and drive? If you, who's just drinking juice, were to drive, the deputy director might pin the credit on you."

Back at the Central Bar, less than half an hour had passed, and the four black men were still completely unconscious.

I briefly explained the results of the discussion to Eddie, and made up a reason why the deputy director didn't want to have direct contact with the Bloods, but mentioned that I could agree to work together to take down the Cripples.

Eddie was fairly satisfied. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Even if we don't make contact now, we will in the future. Going from zero to one is the most difficult thing.

Logan and Stephen took the black guys to the police station and handed them over to Stephen to manage. Only then did he drive back to the pub to pick up his two sleeping underlings.

Before helping the two away, he asked one last question:

"By the way, boss, what's your name, and why are you willing to cooperate with me?"

The boss wiped the wine glass in his hand, and what he said sounded like a joke.

"My name is Zain."

"I'm cooperating with you because I also hope that the day you mentioned at noon will come."

"Besides, I think you're a true American too."

Only after I told him I would fight him to the death did he relent and agree to cooperate only with the protagonist.
