Chapter 45 This is the explanation

Outside the back door of the Central Tavern, in a dimly lit, wide alley, the Blood Gang members stood silently, their expressions grim.

He didn't even know he was keeping a ghost in his house, or that he had joined the traitorous gang. If word got out, people would laugh their heads off.

Eddie, who was leading the group, was dressed in a crisp, old military uniform, and he wanted to show the utmost respect.

The actions he proposed, the informants he arranged, the locations he provided.

As a result, things went wrong on the very first mission.

If he were still wearing his bathrobe and smoking opium, his old comrade might just turn around and throw everyone he caught into the police station.

However, the crippled gang has connections within the police force, so these guys might be released the very next day after they've just been put in there.

"squeak……"

A Mitsubishi was parked in the alley. Logan pulled the mole out of the car, and two henchmen opened the back door. The rest of the Blood Gang members also stepped forward to unload the goods at the signal.

The mole had woken up, his mouth stuffed with rags, but he didn't struggle at all; he had resigned himself to his fate.

"Hey! Bro! How are you? Are you hurt? I can get you the best doctor in the underworld."

Eddie stepped forward, opened his arms, and asked with concern.

Logan frowned at his insincere attitude and replied coldly:

"No major problem."

"That's good, that's good."

Eddie glanced at the mole, his tone unfriendly.

"The problem this time is definitely my fault. I really didn't expect that after I treated him so well, he would actually become a mole in the Crippled Gang and almost get you into trouble!"

He kicked the mole to the ground and then followed up with a few more kicks.

"Hey bro, wanna vent your anger too?"

Logan shook his head in refusal. The mission hadn't been completed yet, and if he beat up the mole now, the system might confiscate his Chaos Points again.

"No need, I've already vented my anger on those four black guys."

"Alright then, let's go check on the four of them now."

Eddie pulled his foot back cleanly.

"Wait, Eddie, what I said on the phone was that you need to give me an explanation. Is kicking him a couple of times what you call an explanation?"

He turned his head and met Logan's resolute face, realizing there was no way to fool him anymore.

He beckoned to Lanny, who then pulled out a box containing a syringe.

"This is a new batch of high-quality goods that we've just stocked up on. We haven't tested it yet, so let's give it a try today."

Eddie prepared the syringe and was about to prick the mole's arm.

"Aren't we going to let him say a few words?"

Logan's casual remark startled him, and he injected the substance even faster.

"What else is there to say? What's so good about a traitor's words?"

After the injection was completed, the mole, after trembling with excitement for half a minute, collapsed to the ground, motionless.

"It seems the concentration is a bit too high."

Eddie threw away the trash in his hand and clapped his hands.

"How about this explanation? I killed the traitor with my own hands."

Logan glanced around at the people around him. Lenny's expression was normal, which was obviously not the first time he had seen this situation. The rest of the people all looked tense.

"This is a case of making an example of someone to warn others."

But I am neither a chicken nor a monkey.

"This is your explanation to your men, not mine. You know what I want."

Now that things have come to this point, it would be impolite to pretend to be ignorant.

A Blood Gang underling spoke up hastily:

"You take whatever Eddie gives you! How dare you try to bargain!"

Logan glanced at it indifferently, not even bothering to refute it.

"What an idiot."

"Don't you even use your pig brain? Lenny hasn't said a word, and you actually think this is an opportunity to climb the ranks?"

Eddie gave a wry smile. He walked towards the underling, nodding repeatedly as if acknowledging his courage, but then suddenly slapped him hard across the face.

"You idiot! This is my brother! My old comrade-in-arms! Who gave you permission to talk to him like that!"

Tell everyone in the Bloods! My brother Logan is my equal in the Bloods! Even though he's not a member!

This kind of endorsement would move anyone.

But Logan didn't, because this was something Eddie should have done yesterday, but he only did it today.

Not being sincere enough means being completely insincere.

And this still isn't an explanation.

"And also, my brother, I'll give you an extra 1% of the shares as a token of my apology."

Eddie had a forced smile on his face.

Logan immediately broke into an even brighter smile.

"Brother! That's your explanation! Come on! Let's take a look at these four crippled gang members!"

The two arrived together at the four body bags, where the people inside were still unconscious, the effects of the nerve sedatives and muscle relaxants lasting.

"What are they doing...?"

Eddie checked one of their breaths.

"They're not dead. I got some tranquilizer guns in case they move around."

So, what are your plans to do with them?

Are they simply imprisoned, or are they being used as test subjects for new enhancement agents?

Eddie thought about Logan's question for a few seconds.

"Both, I guess. Do you have any good suggestions?"

Logan nodded and said:

"There really is."

This morning, I went to the Seattle West Precinct to apply for a gun license, only to be tricked by that bastard chief.

He was actually colluding with the crippled gang; luckily, other kind-hearted police officers got me out of trouble.

Logan concealed some information: he couldn't let Eddie know about his conflict with the Cripples, otherwise, when dealing with the Cripples again in the future, the other party might offer less compensation, on the grounds that "you also have a conflict with the Cripples."

The recording must not be known to Eddie; it is his own trump card.

Eddie sighed:

That's why I'm not letting you go to the police.

But does this have anything to do with your suggestion?

Logan continued:

"That kind policeman didn't belong to the faction that colluded with the Crippled Gang. He mentioned that the deputy chief also didn't get along with the Crippled Gang."

Eddie's eyes lit up; he was intrigued.

"You mean I should develop my own connections within the police station, just like the crippled gang?"

"That's right, Eddie."

Logan then explained,

"What the enemy has, you must also have. Even if that deputy director is unwilling to cooperate with the gang, he will be willing to deal with the Crippled Gang. We just need to send all three main culprits in the jade robbery to the police station for the deputy director to take over. He will naturally use this case to put pressure on the Crippled Gang and increase his goodwill towards the Blood Gang."

Eddie stroked his chin, pondered for a few seconds, and finally admitted:

"You're right. We should hand these people over to the deputy director and let him handle the case."

Who will deliver it?

He didn't speak again, but silently curled the corners of his mouth and looked at Logan.

The meaning is quite clear: there's only one person here who can speak to the police.

Logan, who had only been to the police station that morning, was the most suitable person to act as the middleman.

"Alright, alright, I'll contact that policeman and see if I can find a time to discuss this with the deputy chief alone."

Logan reluctantly agreed.

"You truly understand me, my brother."

Using the excuse of finding a quiet place, Logan walked alone to a secluded corner.

No one noticed that he was about to burst into a smile.
