Chapter 36 Inviting the Enemy into the Trap
"wrong!"
Logan stopped in his tracks as he walked in.
"The Slaanesh Cult is a crippled gang. Since there are Slaanesh followers in the police station, it's very likely that some of them are connected to the crippled gang."
"And that bitch's lover is trying to get me."
"Some necessary preparations must be made."
Logan turned and left the police station, heading to a nearby alley.
He took out his phone and started looking up the laws and regulations of Washington State in the United States on his browser.
A few minutes later, he turned on the recorder on his phone and stuffed it into the inside pocket of his jacket.
I went into the police station again.
Upon reaching the counter, he asked the police officer who was assisting him:
"Hello, I'm here to apply for a gun license."
"May I ask your name? Logan Stark."
"Mr. Logan! You've arrived!"
The person speaking was a policewoman standing outside the reception desk; she had a sweet smile and was very approachable.
"I'm Stephen's friend. He's already spoken to me. Come with me."
Surprisingly, it wasn't the classic American fake smile.
His lips were smiling, and his eyes were smiling too.
But that makes it all the more suspicious.
Both Stephen and himself believed that they lacked the power to make a policeman genuinely happy to receive someone.
A clearly inexperienced police officer, and a homeless vagrant.
There's definitely something fishy going on.
Following the directions, Logan arrived at a door.
The sign on the door reads "Reception Room".
"Please come in, the police officer who issues gun licenses is waiting for you inside."
Pushing open the door, I saw a kind-looking, middle-aged, overweight white police officer sitting at a desk inside. There was only a folder on the desk.
The overhead fluorescent lights were dim, and the security camera in the corner hung low without flashing red light.
Loganmen sat down in the chair that had been reserved for him.
"Click."
The door came shut with the sound of it being locked.
"Mr. Logan, are you here to apply for a gun license?"
The white police officer spoke slowly and in a gentle tone.
If he weren't wearing this police uniform, he would look like a kind-hearted uncle next door.
"Yes, this is my state driver's license, I think I should need this."
Logan took out his identification and placed it on the table.
"You're right, but you'll also need some other documents, such as a Social Security card, green card, passport, and veteran's certificate."
"Do we need so many?"
Logan pulled out the documents the other party had mentioned one by one.
"These are my documents. My veteran's certificate is lost and hasn't been replaced yet."
"It's okay, this is enough."
The police changed their story quickly, seemingly because Stephen had given them instructions.
The white police officer gathered all the identification documents and put them into a folder.
Then he leaned back, a smug smile on his face, and made no further moves.
"? 』
"What are you doing...?"
Logan was interrupted before he could finish speaking.
Are you a veteran?
"Yes, I already said that."
"And where is your veteran's certificate?"
"? 』
Logan looked at him with a puzzled expression, not understanding what stupid thing this guy was doing.
"Snapped!"
The policeman slammed his hand on the table.
"He doesn't have a veteran's certificate, yet he dares to impersonate a veteran."
Did you go to the Veterans Resource Center yesterday? You even tried to report a veteran's wife for fraudulently claiming his/her retirement pay.
That's absolutely outrageous!
The fat man spoke with a flushed face, and after a while, he was panting heavily.
Logan understood.
This man is a Slaanesh follower in the police station, and he's also connected to the Crippled Gang.
Chun Chun came here to cause trouble.
What a clever trick to lure someone into a trap!
Logan pretended to be terrified, saying he wanted to let the bullets fly for a while.
"No, no, officer! I really am a veteran. I served my country for three years. My wife kicked me out of the house, took my pension, and didn't give me a single penny."
"Ha! You're still a homeless man!"
The overweight white police officer had his hands crossed on the table, looking down and then up, which only made him seem more intimidating.
"A homeless man without identity."
Logan pointed to the folder.
"Officer, what are you talking about? Aren't my documents all in that folder on the table?"
The policeman stuffed the folder into the drawer.
"Where?"
"You put the folder in the drawer."
"What evidence do you have? Seeing it isn't enough."
The police officer pointed to the security camera and said, "Look, the camera just happens to be broken today."
At this point, even the most foolish person should realize that the police have ulterior motives.
"What...do you want?"
"It's very simple."
Never appear near Esme again. Teren doesn't want to see you again.
Do you understand?
Logan gripped the chair armrests tightly with both hands and straightened his back.
He looked anxious and helpless.
"Is Teren the leader of the Crippled Gang?"
"That's right, so you need to understand that if you don't agree, the crippled gang will keep picking on you."
"What if I don't agree?"
"snort!"
The policeman laughed dismissively.
"You have no identification. I have reason to believe you are a Russian spy who infiltrated the homeless community to gather intelligence on the United States. We will send you to prison and lock you up with a group of real Russians."
His smile turned ferocious.
"They hate every American."
As for the reason…”
He pulled out a Russian purple-wrapped candy.
"This was found on you; it's Russian-made."
Logan's tense body relaxed, and he slumped weakly into the chair.
There is no way to do it.
"Why...why would the police collude with the crippled gang?"
"Hmm? Hahaha..."
The policeman's smile was genuine.
"Are you even American? How dare you ask such a question? What do you mean by 'collusion'? He guaranteed me that gangs in his jurisdiction wouldn't cause trouble, so what's wrong with me doing something for him within my authority?"
"That's called a swap of interests!"
"I'm not afraid to tell you! Teren sends me at least $10 every month!"
"Once you step out that door, no one will believe you, no matter who you tell them! Because there's no evidence!"
The fat man became increasingly agitated, completely disregarding what he was saying.
The time has come.
Just then, a commotion arose outside the door.
"What are you doing! Get out of the way!"
"Calm down, Stephen! The chief is interrogating some mortal inside!"
"Don't give me that nonsense! I know what's going on in there!"
"Click."
Stephen unlocked the door and came in.
Those who had previously blocked him outside the door all stopped what they were doing and fell silent.
"Let him in, you all go ahead and get back to work."
The white chief spoke.
Those who left closed the door behind them, this time without locking it.
"Chief! What are you doing! Why are you interrogating my informant! He provided crucial leads for my arrest in the jade robbery case!"
"Really? Can you prove his identity? To me, he's just an unidentified vagrant trying to seize the rights of an American citizen."
The bureau chief remained calm.
He was confident that no one could produce evidence.
Whether it's their identity or what they just said.
Stephen glanced at Logan, gritted his teeth, and looked on in anger but with no other choice.
He was just a junior police officer.
"Coincidentally, I happen to have something interesting."
Logan raised the right corner of his mouth and, amidst the puzzled looks of the two men, pulled out his phone, which was recording.
I clicked the replay button.
