America? No, it's the warp!

Chapter 2 The Imperial Truth is the Fist of Khorne!

What is a soldier good at?

Violence, of course.

Logan dodged the black man's lunge, tripped him, then climbed on top of him and elbowed him in the face.

"Tell me what an empire is?"

The black man was stunned by the elbow; his atrophied brain was not capable of simultaneously feeling pain and thinking.

So it was another elbow strike.

"Tell me what an empire is! You heretic!"

This jolted the Black man awake. He racked his brains, finally recalling the only country's name: "Is the empire America?"

Logan lowered his raised right elbow and nodded. "That's right."

"God damn it! Bro! Why would America care about the lives of veterans?" The black man seemed to have his brain activated, and he actually realized the crux of the problem.

But then he received another elbow.

"Answering first is no excuse for stealing his food!"

"Hold on! Hold on! I give up, you're right, bro, let me go, I won't steal it anymore."

The Black man had no other choice but to raise his hands in surrender, his red and swollen face making him appear even more sincere.

Logan nodded, patted the other man on the shoulder with satisfaction, ending the suppression, and didn't forget to continue his advice:

"If you're late, think about whether you were high on tobacco last night. If you didn't get any food, go rummage through the garbage. In America, there's always a way to survive."

The black man nodded repeatedly, covered his face, and ran out of the dark alley.

"call……"

Logan took a deep breath, trying his best to suppress his agitated emotions; his body was still trembling slightly.

Although the PTSD in this body has been alleviated after the transmigration and it is not too stressful, it still reacts violently when faced with physical confrontation.

"hiss……"

He then took out his painkillers, poured out a few pills, and swallowed them.

Each PTSD episode causes a headache.

Sometimes, he felt that either the onset or relief of a headache was an illusion, because painkillers take at least an hour to take effect, so how could they possibly work immediately after being taken?

The psychological comfort provided is truly terrifying.

[Mission Completed: You audacious troublemaker!]

[By combining strength and gentleness, and employing both fists and words, you successfully protected the personal safety and supplies of your Astral Army comrades.]

[Reward: +20 Merit Points]

[When faced with these demi-human natives who can't understand human language, we should use our fists to teach them what the true meaning of imperial truth is.]

[Terrorism +1]

[Received the blessing of Khorne: Courage rekindled]

[Courage Rekindled: War, bloodshed, struggle, and excitement will no longer frighten you.]

A mechanical sound came, followed by what seemed like a warm current flowing into his bloodstream and coursing through his body, locking him firmly in place. His slight trembling then stopped.

Subduer of Demons and Slayer of Evil, Heavenly Venerable! Khorne!

He quickly opened the panel and saw that the Khorne value, which was originally "-1", had increased to "0".

"I hadn't even noticed yet, why was it -1 at the beginning?"

"It turns out the system mistook my PTSD for war phobia, and Khorne is related to war and courage, so initially the Khorne attribute was negative, but now it's 0, and the PTSD is cured."

The system mentioned that the stats of these four evil gods can all enhance the body, but they will gradually be corrupted only at high stats. However, in the early stages, one can freely increase their stats.

"For the Emperor! I am willing to endure the corruption of these evil gods!"

After thinking it over, he turned around and said, "Alright, Kieran, I've chased that black guy away. How are you going to thank me?"

One task, two ways to enjoy it.

Kieran watched the whole thing from behind, not daring to make a sound. He didn't hear what the two were talking about, but he knew that Logan knocked the black man down in a second and then elbowed him three times in two seconds.

"My God! You're so good at fighting!" He was stunned for a long time before he could finally utter a word of amazement.

"I'm a veteran, didn't you know?" They often rummaged through the trash together, and Logan assumed he knew.

Kieran shook his head, picked up the food, and sat down against the wall: "I just found out. You're always talking about the Emperor... Primarch... Slaanesh... Xenomorph... and stuff like that. I thought you were just a Warhammer fanatic."

He tore open the food and began devouring it in a whirlwind, adding, "The kind where you can't tell the difference between reality and the game."

'The original owner really was...'

Logan ignored his attempt to change the subject: "Anyway, how are you going to thank me? I put in a lot of effort to beat that black guy."

"Hey, look at you." Kieran reluctantly pulled out a pack of cigarettes, though hesitantly. "Have one, with the leaves."

Seeing that this was the reward, Logan waved his hand in disappointment:

"I don't use any form of enhancer."

"Well, there's nothing I can do about it. I don't have anything else of value." Kieran put away the cigarette and ate the free food with a smug look on his face.

Seeing that he had obtained something of value, Logan did not press the matter further. He simply sat down next to the other person and pondered his future plans.

"First, we need to get some money to buy winter supplies and survive the winter."

"Then, relying on the system and my veteran status, I found a suitable job."

"How about finding a part-time job at one of those street-side shops? I wonder if they'd mind that I'm homeless."

Kieran finished his breakfast quickly, then took out a tobacco leaf and started smoking.

A sweet, skunk-smelling smoke rushed into Logan's nostrils, and he quickly covered his nose and sat down a little further away.

Seeing this, Kieran shrugged, lit a cigarette, pulled a cloth bag from inside his thick coat, and said mysteriously:

"Hey Logan, look, I've got some good stuff."

Logan didn't approach; he just watched from a distance.

"I borrowed some fresh and good stuff from 'Hot Lanny,' want to try it?"

As he spoke, Kieran slowly opened the cloth bag, revealing a syringe wrapped inside, filled with a pale yellow liquid.

"Fentanyl?" Logan frowned. "And it looks like the concentration is high. Don't you want to live?"

Kieran paused, then smiled wryly: "It's a good thing I didn't touch the enhancers. I've always thought that if I had never touched them, maybe I wouldn't have become a homeless person."

"There are no 'what ifs,' but it might not be too late to quit." Logan sensed something was wrong and tried to persuade him.

"Ha... Logan, I've had enough of living. I'm sure I won't make it through this winter. I might as well prepare a Christmas present for myself in advance, a final false happiness."

Kieran's mind is made up; there's no need to persuade him further.

Logan nodded and said nothing more.

"Hey Logan, thanks for saving me earlier. Can you do me another favor? I'll give you something you can't refuse." Kieran didn't start enjoying himself right away, but instead made a request.

Logan looked into his eyes, trying to glean some insight.

What can a dying homeless man offer in return? Only everything he has.

"Tell me about it."

Kieran pulled another slip of paper from his inside pocket and explained, "I once conceived of a mixed potion that I called the Enhancement Cocktail, intending to experience it before I die, and I think now is the time."

"A cocktail?" Logan asked curiously, taking the slip of paper and glancing at it.

"A cocktail of fortifiers: leaf powder, fentanyl, painkillers... cleaning agents? Rat poison!"

"Holy shit! A filthy, purulent cesspool!"
