Huayu: Were you ever a top star before writing nonsense?

Jay Chou has been very busy lately. His album "I'm Very Busy" is about to be released, and he has to work overtime to produce it.

After the album is released, his starring movie "Kung Fu Dunk" is also about to be released, so he has to be busy with promotion.

The reason he named the album "I'm Very Busy" is because he felt he had been too busy and mentally exhausted this past year.

Besides his career, he also had to date Patty Hou and "H" from the Snake Group throughout the year.

Meanwhile, Jolin Tsai, who is also in Taiwan, has been in a bad mood lately.

As a top singer, in order to achieve even greater success in music, she has prepared a new album full of confidence – "Agent J".

Not only did she put her heart and soul into creating the song, she also went to London to learn the challenging "weightless ribbon pole dance".

Even the release date of the album was deliberately chosen: late September. During that period, no superstars or national-level singers were releasing songs in mainland China, Hong Kong, or Taiwan.

The only band with a decent reputation is F.I.R., which released "Crescent Bay," but that's just a single and nothing to worry about.

Jolin Tsai has high ambitions for her album "Agent J".

They want to win music awards and further expand into the mainland market.

—I want them all!

In particular, the mainland market has attracted artists from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, South Korea, and even Singapore to develop their careers in the mainland due to the rapid economic development of the mainland in recent years.

Or, to put it another way, to make money.

A market of 13 billion people is something that Japan and South Korea cannot compare to.

Moreover, in recent years, commercial performance fees and endorsement fees in mainland China have also been rising.

Countless hot money from real estate developers, coal miners, entrepreneurs, and market expansion companies has flowed into the entertainment industry.

A scene brimming with vitality.

To gain greater popularity and increase her market value in mainland China, the new song charts on various music platforms are her battleground.

Jolin Tsai originally thought that with her fame and the quality of her songs, it shouldn't be a problem for a few songs from the album to become hits and dominate the charts.

But who would have thought that a prodigy would emerge from the Shanghai Theatre Academy's acting department—Shen Can!

Starting from September 25th, Shen Can released three songs in succession, and then...

On some music platforms, Shen Can "ride" her three times!

Although Shen Can did not post anything about this matter, netizens in mainland China often made fun of it.

"Shen Can is awesome, a triple queen!"

"My husband is feeling so wronged lately."

"This is the most unpretentious diva I've ever seen."

"Linlin, why don't you just give in? Shen Can happens to like older women!"

"..."

Jolin Tsai was so angry she gritted her teeth!

She's a superstar! She can dance and sing, she's a veteran artist, she can be both elegant and cute, sexy and alluring, she's only 1.5 meters tall but has an aura of 2.8 meters!

Shen Can, on the other hand, is a greenhorn fresh out of school!

But on the leaderboard, Shen Can was the one who went on a killing spree?

She desperately wanted to deny it, but reality was harsh.

This man is incredibly ruthless, killing indiscriminately, including her, a superstar...

On platforms such as QQ Music, Kugou Music, and Migu Music, Shen Can even topped both the new song chart and the hot song chart, reigning supreme and looking down on all others.

This is truly defying common sense. Over the years, she has seen all kinds of newcomers, such as Jam Hsiao, who has emerged this year and is indeed very outstanding.

But that was just being excellent; Shen Can gave her the feeling that he was sinister.

His staying power is incredible; every single one of his songs is a hit.

His inspiration is incredible! Rumor has it that this man gets his songwriting inspiration from writing novels!!!

This is the first time she's ever heard of something like this in all her years in the industry!

envy!

I am deeply envious. To say that he is blessed with natural talent is an understatement. Shen Can is simply an extraordinary man!

His level of terror is no less than that of Jay Chou, Lin Junjie, and Wang Lihong...

And today, Shen Can released another new song.

This is his fourth song released recently.

"The song is highly recognizable, breaks with tradition, has a unique style, and a catchy melody. As for the singing... it's not particularly difficult; any singer could sing it. But that's the problem!!"

Jolin Tsai's chest heaved, and she looked somewhat surprised.

Shen Can's control over the music market is terrifying!

It's important to know that some songs are critically acclaimed but commercially unsuccessful.

For example, the song "Mosquito" from Beyond's album "Never Say Goodbye" was written by Paul Wong in 98. The lyrics use self-deprecation to compare himself to a "mosquito," reflecting the band's later situation of splitting up members, declining sales, and the theme of ordinary people fighting against fate.

Many music critics say this song is "ingeniously conceived" and a representative work of the band's later style, but did it become a hit?

Most Beyond fans probably don't know this song, let alone have heard of it.

But there are also many songs that are popular at the box office but not critically acclaimed.

Some of Phoenix Legend's songs are often criticized by music critics as "uncool" and not in line with mainstream music aesthetics.

In fact, their song "Above the Moon" is widely sung and loved by the masses.

They still frequently appear on the mainland China ringtone download charts.

"Shen Can's song 'What's Wrong' will probably be a hit at the box office but not a critical success," Jolin Tsai analyzed in her Taiwanese sweet voice.

It is foreseeable that this song will not receive high praise from some music critics.

Comments such as "lacking artistry," "lacking depth," and "difference to mainstream music aesthetics" are easy to imagine.

However, the song also became an internet sensation due to its simple and catchy melody, straightforward and warm lyrics, and refreshing and uncomplicated arrangement, achieving an unimaginable level of popularity.

We're all in business, and the most important thing about a song is its commercial value.

What the public likes is commercial value!

If the masses don't like it, who do you think you are?

You can only make money if the masses like it!

Otherwise, it would just be a case of being too sophisticated for the masses.

This is why she said Shen Can's control over the market was terrifyingly strong.

Every song satisfies the public's tastes, to the point that every single one becomes a hit... terrifying!

From this perspective...

Jolin Tsai suddenly thought of a very serious problem.

"Am I going to get dominated by him again?"

Jolin Tsai scratched her hair, leaned forward and slumped onto the table, feeling extremely irritable.

I get bullied by Shen Can every day...

She's a superstar, doesn't she have any pride?

"Fortunately, there are still five days left before my song is off the new song chart. As for the hot song chart... cough cough, I'm not the only superstar singer who's been bullied."

"Next time I release a song, I'll definitely avoid him and never let him bully me again..."

Jolin Tsai made up her mind.

Stay away from evil spirits for physical and mental well-being.

Half an hour later, Jolin Tsai received a message from her assistant.

[Jolin, Shen Can just posted on his blog that he'll be releasing a new song the day after tomorrow called "Fairy Tale Town".]

Jolin Tsai: "..."

Not again? When will this ever end?

He's addicted to riding, isn't he?
