Huayu: Were you ever a top star before writing nonsense?

Chapter 59 Look, you're playing the eloquence game again.

"You'll have to pay more."

In 07, prices hadn't risen much yet, and 10 yuan had strong purchasing power.

Take Shanghai license plates as an example. In 25, one of these plates cost around 10 yuan. Before the green plates were introduced, the price was even higher.

In 07, the average winning bid for a license plate was between 4 and 6 yuan, and 10 yuan could buy two license plates in Shanghai.

At that time, the average monthly salary of employees in Shanghai was about 3000 to 4000 yuan.

10 yuan is equivalent to an ordinary worker saving for two and a half years without eating or drinking.

But Shen Can still felt that the price offered by the client for the commercial performance was too low.

When he wrote entertainment articles in his previous life, he specifically looked up the prices for celebrity commercial performances in 07.

Top artists such as Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, Jay Chou, and Jolin Tsai command prices exceeding 70 yuan.

Zhou Bichang/Li Yuchun: 50 to 60.

Zhang Liangying: 30 to 40.

Han Xue/Jin Sha: 5 to 10.

Hu Yanbin/Pu Shu/Xu Wei: 10 to 20 RMB.

Yu Quan/Han Hong/Na Ying: 20 to 30 RMB.

Phoenix Legend has 20 to 30 followers.

Rain 70.

Jang Nara: 20 to 40.

Kangta: 35.

At the same time, when Korean stars come to China, the inviting party needs to bear the additional costs of international travel.

It is quite obvious that artists from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea, as well as stars who debuted through talent shows, command significantly higher appearance fees for commercial performances than traditional mainland stars.

Even talented singers like Hu Yanbin and Pu Shu, and top singers like Han Hong, have relatively low performance fees for commercial shows.

Therefore, even though he could earn 10 yuan just by singing four songs, Shen Can still wanted the client to increase the amount.

The reason is simple: he deserves more!

Although he is indeed short of money right now, as the saying goes, even Buddha fights for a stick of incense, and man fights for a breath of air; he might as well not have timely help.

Even if this deal falls through, he won't regret it.

Moreover, now that they've secured their first commercial performance invitation, more invitations are just around the corner.

What he needs to do is simple: just keep releasing new songs to ignite the music scene and increase his popularity. But the clients have a lot more to consider.

Xu Xinran looked at Shen Can and asked, "How much more do you want to add?"

Shen Can imitated the old Taoist Qingwei from Legend of Sword and Fairy 3, extending two fingers to make a "V" sign.

"Add 20?! You want a 30 appearance fee?!" Xu Xinran's eyes widened in surprise.

All things considered, Shen Can has only been in the industry for about ten days, yet he wants to earn 30 yuan in appearance fees?

"I mean, my asking price for this commercial performance is 20," Shen Can said.

He naturally wanted to get a 30 yuan appearance fee, but he also felt that it was a bit exaggerated to ask for that price with his current level of fame. He thought it was more likely that he would get a 20 yuan appearance fee for a commercial performance.

"Okay, then I'll have Xiao Huang reply for you." Xu Xinran nodded.

Xiao Huang is the receptionist at Blue Phoenix Company, that cute girl with a youthful face.

"However, I reckon this commercial performance deal is off after you raise your price," Xu Xinran said.

Shen Can looked at Xu Xinran and said with a smile, "Stop jinxing me. These days, even Korean stars can come to China to make a fortune. What's wrong with me taking a little more?"

Xu Xinran smiled.

"You usually seem sophisticated and worldly, but it turns out you also had your impetuous youthful days."

"What kind of young person wouldn't be full of vigor?"

"That makes sense." Xu Xinran paused, then gently reminded her:

"You should hire an agent and assistant. As you become more famous, more and more people will be looking for you. You can't keep having them call Lan Fenghuang all the time, can you?"

After listening to Xu Xinran's words, Shen Can looked towards the front desk and saw Xiao Huang.

Although Xiao Huang is not highly educated, she is obedient, sensible, and has a good sense of propriety. She is also serious and responsible in her work. In addition, she is cute and pleasing to the eye, making her very suitable for the job of his assistant.

As for his agent, Shen Can did want to find an experienced professional in the industry.

For celebrities, a good agent can make their careers flourish, while a bad agent can ruin their careers.

At best, they'll be subjected to underhanded tactics, like Zhao Xiaodao, who was satirized by his agent in a post; at worst, they'll be cheated on by their agent, like Wang Baoqiang...

Shen Can felt that an agent must be reliable and sincere. As for professional skills, they are not particularly important. An average level is enough. The agent can mainly be responsible for endorsements, concerts, and commercial performances.

"It would be best to find people like Yang Junrong and Da Ni," Shen Can thought to himself.

These two individuals are Zhou Jielun's manager and assistant, respectively, and have been working with him for over 20 years.

Shen Can closed the office door, looked at Xu Xinran, and said:

"I think Xiao Huang would be perfect as an assistant. Why don't you lend me your daughter?"

Xu Xinran was stunned for a moment, then gave Shen Can a coquettish glare:

"Borrow? Is that what you call borrowing? Lending it to you is like throwing a meat bun to a dog."

Shen Can chuckled; he really hadn't intended to do that.

"How about you let me invest? Once I become a shareholder, Xiao Huang will naturally become my employee."

Xu Xinran took a deep breath.

This guy has a very nice idea. She has no doubt that once Shen Can becomes a shareholder, Xiao Huang will be used by Shen Can for free, and she will even have to pay his salary herself.

Following that, Xu Xinran fell silent, lost in thought.

A dozen seconds later, she looked out the window at the dense buildings of Shanghai and the bright sunshine, and asked:

"You can invest, but the prerequisite is... where will you get the money?"

Shen Can chuckled, his deep eyes brimming with confidence.

He was not surprised that Xu Xinran agreed to his decision to invest.

Firstly, Xu Xinran is a woman with great courage and determination.

Secondly, Blue Phoenix's business is now completely dependent on him; without him, Blue Phoenix will soon revert to its original state.

This is not an exaggeration.

But if he and Lan Fenghuang become deeply intertwined, it would be like two Qin Shi Huangs embracing each other – a win-win situation for both.

Xu Xinran, with her intelligence, couldn't possibly be unaware of this.

Moreover, there was some ambiguity between the two...

As for the money to invest, that depends on your persuasive skills.

This is his area of strength.

"Shen Can, put 10,000 coins on my tab first."

This didn't sound plausible at all, and Xu Xinran stared at Shen Can suspiciously:

"You're not trying to get something for free again, are you?"

"I rack my brains and put in a lot of effort to create songs every day, how can that be considered freeloading? Aren't I doing this so that we can have a better future?"

After Shen Can finished speaking, he pulled Xu Xinran into his arms.

That's why he closed the office door earlier.

Closing the door makes it easier to use your eloquence.

Xu Xinran hummed in agreement, feeling her body begin to heat up.

Shen Can gazed into Xu Xinran's eyes:

"Do you want to develop Blue Phoenix into a music company like JVR Music? Jay Chou can do it, so why can't I?"

At worst, we can just copy more of Jay Chou's future songs.

It's no trouble at all.

"Who knows if you can do it or not?" Xu Xinran reached out and stroked Shen Can's chest.

Shen Can could feel her body trembling.

"Senior, why don't you give it a try?"

"Do you think I wouldn't dare?"
