Elegy from Another World

Chapter 44 Nest Building

After becoming the manager of this "Flesh and Blood Utopia," my life entered a phase of unprecedented fulfillment and peculiar rhythm. Maintaining the operation of this massive organism and constantly realizing new ideas requires a massive amount of energy. The pleasure converter became the core engine of the entire system, and the source of energy was all of us.

Thus, our daily lives became intimately intertwined. To maximize energy output, I and the other inhabitants spent most of our day closely connected to those gentle, functioning tentacles. These tentacles were like the umbilical cord connecting us to our home, efficiently transforming the pleasure, peace, and even the satisfaction of learning new things that we felt into energy to sustain the utopia through continuous, gentle stimulation. It was a wondrous symbiosis, where intimate physical contact became the cornerstone of our home.

The few remaining members of Carlos's team initially approached the situation with observation and wariness. However, as time passed, under our subtle influence and the warm atmosphere within Utopia, they gradually lowered their guard and eventually voluntarily accepted the tentacle connection, joining our symbiotic network. When they first truly felt that unspoken spiritual resonance, that peace and joy of collective creation, all their doubts vanished. They were deeply moved and expressed their unwillingness to leave this incredible haven. Their addition not only brought new strength and perspectives but also provided a more stable energy source for the pleasure converter.

The functional areas of Central are also under steady development. Following the plantation, a unique "library" has been established. The "books" here are not paper, but composed of special flesh-like tissue, capable of recording and storing information like biological hard drives. People can "write" their knowledge, skills, and even fragments of memory into these living books. Even more conveniently, through a symbiotic network, anyone can directly "download" and learn this knowledge, greatly accelerating the flow and sharing of information. This has become a treasure trove of knowledge and a source of wisdom for Utopia.

I also specially opened up a spacious hall in Central, which contained nothing but a soft floor and some fleshy protrusions for people to lean on. This place was affectionately called the "Gathering Hall" by everyone, and it was a place for everyone to relax, chat, and hold small celebrations, filled with laughter.

To improve the quality of life, I specially trained a group of auxiliary tentacles focused on logistical work. They are responsible for daily cleaning, moving items, and even helping to care for the plantation.

Looking to the future, new research and development plans have been put on the agenda: one is a communication tentacle capable of transmitting and receiving radio signals, designed to establish stable connections with the outside world (if necessary) or distant areas within the utopia; the other is a reconnaissance tentacle capable of temporarily detaching from the utopia and possessing a certain degree of autonomous action, used to monitor the dynamics of the surrounding forest and prevent problems before they occur.

One of the things that gives me the greatest sense of accomplishment is that my repeated attempts at perfume development have finally been a complete success! Now, the air in Utopia no longer carries a faint fishy smell, but is filled with a delicate and lasting floral fragrance, derived from the essence extracted from the little white flowers on my body. Every breath is refreshing and invigorating.

Finally, using the surplus biomaterials, I created several more "bio-players." Now, everyone can enjoy different music in their private or public spaces according to their preferences. Even more surprisingly, some musically talented residents have begun to try composing their own melodies, recording them on the players, and sharing them. Melodious music occasionally echoes through the passageways, adding boundless vitality and artistic flair to this world built of flesh and blood.

The "flesh-and-blood utopia" is steadily developing into the image I envision. Every day, we are all weaving our own unique and beautiful future in our own way.
