Chapter 86 Helping Others
Seeing the stalemate between the Ba Kingdom's cavalry and the Chi Kingdom's army, Fang Hao was somewhat worried. The Ba Kingdom's infantry would arrive soon, and if the situation continued, the Chi Kingdom's army would undoubtedly be defeated.
"Tian Ming, come with me to the Chi Kingdom's military camp. Yuan Kang, wait for me here."
"My lord, please take us with you, it's too dangerous."
Yuan Kang said with a worried look on his face.
"That's precisely why I only took Tian Ming with me; the fewer people there are, the less likely we are to be exposed. Alright, wait for me here."
After Fang Hao finished speaking, he and Tian Ming crouched down and quietly made their way towards the military camp.
The military camp was enclosed by a fence made of sharpened wood. All weeds and trees within a 10-meter radius of the camp had been cleared away, and there was a moat in front of the camp, with many barricades in front of the moat.
Looking at the well-organized camp, Fang Hao was momentarily at a loss as to how to enter.
The 10-meter-wide open space in front of the camp, because of the presence of the Ba Guo cavalry, was like a death zone, keeping Fang Hao outside.
Fang Hao glanced at the mountain behind the camp again; it was too steep. His plan to detour around it from the back was also abandoned.
If it were just a military camp, Fang Hao and Tian Ming could have simply gone there.
Looking at the 10-meter-wide open space, Fang Hao felt somewhat irritated. He wasn't blocking the Ba Guo cavalry; he was blocking Fang Hao's means of transmitting messages.
After thinking for a while, Fang Hao finally came up with a solution.
He led Tian Ming forward as far as he could, and stopped when they reached the edge of the forest.
"Tian Ming, we're not far from the camp. Could you shoot an arrow inside?"
Tian Ming glanced at it and said confidently, "My lord, rest assured, there will be absolutely no problem. It's so close, my arrow will go wherever you point."
Tian Ming's words gave Fang Hao a lot of confidence; now all he had to do was send the information in text form.
Fang Hao searched his entire body but couldn't find any paper or pen. Finally, he thought of Ye Zi.
Fang Hao found several huge leaves in the mountains and forests, and used his hands to carve out a character on each leaf, which together read "Enemy Invasion".
He rolled up the leaves and handed them to Tian Ming, who tied them to an arrow with a thin vine. Then he drew his bow and prepared to shoot at the camp.
With a soft twang of a bowstring, an arrow, like a skewer of roasting fruit, flew toward the camp, carrying green leaves with it.
The arrow flew across the open ground and struck a tall pole in the camp. When the soldiers in the camp saw the green leaves clinging to the arrow, they immediately became noisy. However, a soldier quickly climbed the pole and retrieved the arrow.
Meanwhile, as the arrows with green leaves flew toward the camp, a small squad of cavalry from the Ba Kingdom also spotted them.
The small cavalry squad shouted a few times and rode off in the direction from which the arrows had been fired. Their shouts attracted the attention of the surrounding cavalry, and soon more cavalry charged toward Fang Hao and his men.
Seeing that things were not going well, Fang Hao and Tian Ming immediately turned around and fled into the depths of the mountains and forests.
The Ba Kingdom cavalry arrived at the original location of Fang Hao and his group, fired a few arrows, and after finding no one there, dared not dismount and enter the mountains. They could only ride around outside.
This gave Fang Hao and Tian Ming the opportunity to escape.
Fang Hao and Tian Ming dared not stop for a moment and could only go deeper inside.
In his panic, Fang Hao didn't know how far he had run. When he stopped, he realized he was lost. He had been so focused on running away that he hadn't even found his way, and now he had no idea where he was.
Suddenly, Fang Hao felt ashamed. Was he so scared that he couldn't even find his way?
"Tian Ming, do you know which direction Yuan Kang and the others are going?"
Fang Hao guessed that Tian Ming was just following him without paying attention to the direction.
Tian Ming's answer indeed confirmed this.
Tian Ming scratched his head, looking embarrassed, and said, "My lord, I was so focused on running that I didn't pay attention to the direction. Now, I don't know where I am either."
Fang Hao looked frustrated. Now he was in trouble; he had come out and couldn't even find his way back.
Standing still, Fang Hao looked around and found that there was nothing but weeds and trees here.
Sunlight streamed through the gaps in the trees, creating dappled patterns. A breeze rustled the branches and leaves as they swayed.
Fang Hao and his companion are currently deep in the mountains. From there, all you can see are mountains, and you can't tell which way is which.
"Tian Ming, let's go find a big tree, then climb up to find our way."
Having found a solution, the two walked much faster. Heading downhill, they soon found a large tree.
After Tian Ming climbed the big tree, he discovered that he was actually at the foot of the mountain, with the summit just behind him. Judging from the tree's position, Tian Ming could roughly deduce the location of Yuan Kang and the others.
Tian Ming continued to observe, and when he turned down the mountain, he suddenly discovered that people were fighting in an open space at the foot of the mountain. So he immediately climbed down the tree and explained the situation to Fang Hao.
"Is there a fight down the mountain? How far away is it? Did you see who it is?"
"My lord, the open space at the foot of the mountain isn't far from here. I don't know who it is, but it seems like a group of men in black are attacking a woman."
The cavalry of the Hegemon Kingdom and the army camp of the Chi Kingdom are currently engaged in battle, and Lai Fengwu and Yuan Kang are waiting for him. He does not want to cause any unnecessary trouble.
After thinking for a moment, Fang Hao climbed the tree to take a look.
Not far down the mountain, a group of men in black were attacking a woman in red. The woman was quite skilled in combat, and more than half of the men in black had already been killed or wounded. However, the woman herself was also covered in wounds and was clearly at her limit; she would likely be killed by the men in black soon.
Just then, the woman flipped her hand, a flash of white light appeared, and a man in black fell to the ground.
This scene looked so familiar; Fang Hao felt as if he had seen it before.
Upon closer inspection, the woman's movements did seem somewhat familiar. He rubbed his eyes and looked more closely, realizing that the woman resembled the white-clad woman who had saved him on the road.
In this situation, Fang Hao could not possibly abandon the matter.
The woman in red was in increasingly dire straits, surrounded and attacked by men in black.
Since he had decided to save the woman in white, he had to do it as soon as possible, otherwise it would be useless if he went too late.
After making his decision, Fang Hao quickly returned to the ground and ran down the mountain with Tian Ming.
Before long, the two of them walked through the forest to an open space. Before they had even stood still, one of the men in black spoke.
"When the Soul-Snatching Pavilion is handling matters, idlers should stay away, otherwise they are going against the Soul-Snatching Pavilion."
Fang Hao didn't care about his building; he could tell at a glance that the woman in red was indeed the one who had saved him before.
He immediately began writing, preparing to attack. Seeing that Fang Hao was about to help the woman in red, Tian Ming immediately drew his bow and shot an arrow, killing a man in black who was about to slash at the woman from behind.
The black-clad men were about as strong as the soldiers of the Hegemon Kingdom, but they only knew how to kill in the martial world and did not understand battle formation coordination.
Fang Hao materialized two swords and controlled them with his mind. Tian Ming drew his bow and shot an arrow, quickly killing several men in black.
Seeing that someone had come to help her, the woman's confidence and strength increased greatly, and she killed the man in black with even greater speed and precision.
More than 10 men in black were quickly killed, leaving only two. One of them, seeing that things were not going well, turned around and fled.
Unfortunately, with Tian Ming around, he had no chance of escaping.
After being rescued, the woman, somewhat exhausted, came over to express her gratitude. When she saw Fang Hao, she was taken aback.
"Is it you?"
"it's me."
Fang Hao remained calm, believing that this woman was truly destined for him.
He saved a woman by the Yuntao River. During their march, she saved him. Now, she's being chased by men in black, and he's saved her again.
This is truly a wonderful coincidence.
