Words Strategize for the World

Chapter 11 Experiencing Rhythm

I felt a rhythm for no apparent reason, but the rhythm was also inexplicably faint.

Unable to get back into rhythm, Fang Wei had no choice but to stop writing and sit quietly until afternoon class.

When the teacher arrived at the classroom, his first words were met with cheers from all the students.

"Tomorrow is a yang day among the seven luminaries, so the academy will be closed for the day. All students do not need to come to the academy."

The working and study schedule on Yongping Continent is a relatively fixed 7-day system, called the Seven Luminaries, which are the days of metal, wood, water, fire, earth, yin, and yang.

On the yin and yang days of each of the seven celestial bodies, there is a certain amount of rest time. Especially on yang days, almost everyone rests, except for people like farmers.

After the applause, the teacher asked, "After these two days of writing, has anyone felt the rhythm?"

The classroom fell silent the moment the question was asked.

Fang Wei looked around, but surprisingly no one spoke. Most of the people here were from prominent families; if anyone had sensed the rhythm, they would have spoken up long ago.

Seeing this, Fang Wei simply remained still to avoid attracting hatred and causing unnecessary trouble.

"Didn't anyone feel the rhythm?" the teacher asked again.

Still no one responded.

"If that's the case, then I'll write a few words for everyone to see, and I hope you can gain some insights from them."

Zhou Yi joined two fingers together and wrote in mid-air. Three breaths later, a golden character "亮" (Liang) appeared in the air, and at the same time, Zhou Yi softly uttered: "亮" (Liang).

As soon as the shout ended, the word "bright" expanded and dissipated. In the instant it dissipated, a soft white light appeared out of thin air, illuminating the school and making it exceptionally bright and clear.

A flash of white light rang out, eliciting gasps of surprise from the audience. When the light faded, Zhou Yi wrote again, revealing a golden, black character.

The black characters crumbled, and the schoolroom turned completely dark.

Sensing the darkness, Fang Wei felt extremely unsettled; this power was too wondrous. Although he had read countless novels before, he had never encountered such power, and Fang Wei's longing for it grew even stronger.

Beyond his yearning, Fang Wei also focused on sensing the rhythm. After writing and resonating with the Zhouyi twice, Fang Wei once again grasped the previously extremely faint rhythm.

Before he knew it, Fang Wei put pen to paper, and the character "定" appeared on the paper.

The character "定" (ding) appeared, gleaming with golden light. Before everyone's eyes, the character leaped from the paper, soaring into the air and disintegrating. In that instant, everyone felt the world suddenly fall silent.

In the blink of an eye, the world was restored.

Fang Wei felt the rhythm very clearly this time and knew exactly what the rhythm was.

He wrote the character "定" again, and the same thing happened again. Fang Wei was certain that he had completely mastered the rhythm.

"Clap clap clap..." Zhou Yi clapped his hands and walked up to Fang Wei, saying, "Fang Wei, you should have mastered the rhythm by now, right?"

"Yes, teacher."

Upon hearing Fang Wei's affirmative reply, Zhou Yi turned to all the students and said, "Alright, Fang Wei has now mastered rhythm. The rest of you, keep up the good work."

A haughty and exceptionally beautiful girl sitting in the first row stood up with a displeased look on her face and said, "Hmph, what's so great about it? I can master the rhythm in no time."

As soon as the girl finished speaking, several students who often accompanied her chimed in, "That's right, if even the country folk have mastered it, we'll master it quickly too."

Upon hearing this, Zhou Yi immediately interjected, "Zhang Yin, you're right. I hope you grasp it as soon as possible. Alright, everyone continue writing for the rest of the time, try to understand and master the rhythm as quickly as possible." After saying this, the teacher walked out of the classroom.

As soon as the teacher left, Zhang Yin walked up to Fang Wei's desk and slammed his hand on it. Then, with an arrogant look on his face, he said to Fang Wei, "Fang Wei, how did you feel the rhythm? Tell me quickly."

Zhang Yin was the eldest daughter of the Zhang family in Zhongyuan Prefecture, a powerful and influential clan. From a young age, Zhang Yin could get whatever she wanted without ever questioning why, and no one dared to disobey her. As a result, Zhang Yin was willful and reckless from a young age.

Fang Wei had disliked Zhang Yin's willful and self-righteous nature since childhood, and had even gotten into several fights with her because of it when she was in elementary and middle school. Now that Zhang Yin was asking her so arrogantly, Fang Wei couldn't possibly tell her.

"Why should I tell you?" Fang Wei retorted without any politeness.

"Hmph, if you dare not tell me, I'll make you regret it," Zhang Yin said even more arrogantly.

"Okay, I'll wait." Fang Wei was not one to compromise easily.

"You... Hmph, fine, Fang Wei, you just wait," Zhang Yin said before walking back to the table.

After Zhang Yin left, his accomplices came to cause trouble again, and even surrounded Fang Wei's table. The students who didn't surround it just watched with expressions of amusement.

"Zhang Yin told you to tell her, that's your good fortune, and you still dare not say it?"

"If you don't tell Zhang Yin, but tell me, I'll give you money. You must be really short of cash, haha..."

"I have plenty of money. If you tell me, and I bark like a dog again, I'll give it to you, haha..."

……

The crowd's words grew increasingly offensive, and Fang Wei's face darkened. He couldn't believe these people were so shameless, relying on their wealth and power to treat others like dirt. Just as Fang Wei was about to explode in anger, he heard Zhang Nianwei behind him say, "You people are going too far! How can you talk about Fang Wei like that? So what if I'm poor? Is being poor a crime?"

After Zhang Nianwei finished speaking, she was met with ridicule from the crowd. "Who do you think you are? A wild girl from the Zhang family, what right do you have to speak?"

...The group of people kept making noise, not even giving Zhang Nianwei a chance to speak again.

Fang Wei watched this scene, feeling as if he were in a TV drama; these people were utterly stupid and brainless.

Fang Wei knew that no matter how angry he got, it wouldn't be of any use against these extremely stupid and brain-dead people.

Therefore, Fang Wei thought of rhythm.

Fang Wei closed his eyes and carefully sensed the rhythm.

When Fang Wei opened his eyes, his eyes were filled with determination. He then picked up his pen and wrote the character "滚" (get out). As the character "滚" jumped off the paper, Fang Wei shouted "滚!"

The golden "roll" characters collapsed, knocking the people gathered around the table back and causing them to tumble to the ground.

The students who had fallen were all shocked, never expecting that Fang Wei would dare to use rhythm to deal with them.

The other students who hadn't participated were also dumbfounded. After all, the people gathered around the table were young masters and nobles from the Zhongyuan family, yet Fang Wei dared to treat them like this.

Fang Wei used rhythmic shouts to shoo away the students gathered around the table. He stood up, looked around, and said, "It's better to deceive an old man with an white beard than to underestimate a poor young man. Alas, how can a sparrow know the ambition of a swan!"

Sitting in the back, Zhang Nianwei watched Fang Wei expel the students. Although she felt it was inappropriate, upon hearing Fang Wei's bold words, her heart was instantly stirred, and a feeling of admiration arose spontaneously.

Just as Zhang Nianwei was filled with admiration, she suddenly heard a sound of something being slammed on the table.

"Hmph, comparing us to sparrows and yourself to a swan, how arrogant and presumptuous! You're utterly ignorant."

Fang Wei looked in the direction of the voice and saw a richly dressed, noble-looking young man standing in front of the table with an indignant expression.

Fang Wei naturally recognized the young man; his name was Xie Jixuan, a wealthy young man from Zhongyuan Prefecture. He wasn't particularly arrogant, but he and Fang Yue were from completely different worlds and had no connection whatsoever.

Having finished speaking, Fang Wei ignored him, simply sat down, and continued writing.
