Entertainment Era: Starting with Teaching Sister Meng to Sing

"Can I take this as you threatening us with the advancement?"

The atmosphere in the room was tense, and Wang Xiaozhou's tone had become somewhat arrogant.

Wu Qiuyan, on the contrary, smiled:

"It's not a threat, it's stating the facts."

If you don't sign this contract, plenty of people will be scrambling to sign it. It's indeed too late before the second round of the competition. However, during the top 16 competition, there will definitely be people who have signed contracts who will challenge Meng Ziyi and defeat him by ten votes.

To be honest, since I was able to find this place today, I must have investigated you beforehand.

One was a poor boy with no money or power, whose family only owned two acres of land.

Another one doesn't even have a home.

"With your qualifications, isn't offering you a B-level contract high enough?"

Wang Xiaozhou's smile vanished completely. He almost roughly shoved the contract back into Wu Qiuyan's arms and went straight to the door, opening it to say, "Get out."

If Wu Qiuyan only mocked him for being poor, Wang Xiaozhou would be a little angry, since what she said was true.

But she also mocked Meng Ziyi for not having a family, which goes beyond whether or not a contract is signed. Dude, we're enemies now!

Wu Qiuyan stood up gracefully, and as she reached the door, she leaned close to Wang Xiaozhou's ear and whispered, "I hope you can think it over carefully. Rejecting me and going back to farming is not a good choice."

She raised her hand and waved gently to Meng Ziyi: "Bye-bye, pretty little sister."

No one cared how swaying Wu Qiuyan's departing figure was; Wang Xiaozhou slammed the door shut.

"See? The moment you start to become even slightly popular, all sorts of monsters and scoundrels come looking for you, wanting to devour us whole."

Meng Ziyi clenched her fist: "What should we do?"

Wang Xiaozhou: "You focus on practicing your singing, leave everything else to me. You must be even more amazing in the second episode. If you are good enough, higher-level entertainment companies will come knocking on your door."

"You're putting so much pressure on me."

"Have you heard about how professional athletes abroad prepare for competitions...?"

A pillow flew over and hit Wang Xiaozhou on the forehead. Meng Ziyi buried her head in the blanket again, her breathing becoming heavier than usual.

The last time Wang Xiaozhou made a joke like that, Meng Ziyi's favorability rating was 52%, which she could barely tolerate. But now that it's 70%, if Wang Xiaozhou says something like that again, Meng Ziyi will really start imagining all sorts of scenarios.

The next day, even though she had already told Teacher Ying that she wouldn't be practicing in class, Meng Ziyi still went to the program crew to report.

Today's experience here is completely different from yesterday's. The enthusiastic smiles of my teammates have all disappeared, replaced by a faint, mocking smile.

Fortunately, Teacher Ying's attitude remained unchanged. When she saw Meng Ziyi coming over, she even went up to him to ask him a few words of concern.

"The song 'Human World' is truly perfect. How old is your classmate? He can actually write a song like this. You must introduce me to him sometime in the future. I haven't had any new works in a long time."

When the diva formally invited him to sing, Meng Ziyi felt a surge of pride and happily nodded, "I definitely will if I have the chance."

Teacher Ying patted her on the shoulder again: "Work hard, and when the time is right, I will recommend you to some good entertainment companies."

Back at the hotel, Meng Ziyi relayed what Teacher Ying had said to Wang Xiaozhou.

Wang Xiaozhou considered it for a moment and replied, "Xingcan Media, which came yesterday, may not be from the same faction as Teacher Ying, which is why Teacher Ying continues to show you goodwill."

However, let's not place all our hopes on others. The entertainment company that Teacher Ying introduced might not offer us a satisfactory contract. Anyway, let's keep trying.

Meng Ziyi certainly wouldn't understand what Wang Xiaozhou meant right now. In fact, Wang Xiaozhou himself was also ambiguous. This kind of big-budget variety show with a national viewership rating exceeding 5% involves power struggles, which Wang Xiaozhou had never had the chance to deal with in this life or the previous one. He could only let Meng Ziyi work hard to improve herself and feel her way across the river.

From that day on, whenever the production team didn't need to contact Meng Ziyi, the two of them would spend all their time practicing singing in karaoke.

The Devil Fruit will definitely be used, but the prerequisite is that Meng Ziyi must master the basics of this song. The system cannot be revealed to outsiders. Only by training Meng Ziyi to the point of numbness can the use of the Devil Fruit on her before she goes on stage avoid arousing suspicion.

Time flies when you're busy. A week passed in the blink of an eye, and the next day was the day for the ring recording.

Wang Xiaozhou, head held high, led Meng Ziyi into the Songjiang TV station building, where they encountered Teacher Wang Feng as soon as they entered.

Wang Feng saw Meng Ziyi walking behind a man, carefully looked him up and down, and then greeted him by saying, "This is... Wang Xiaozhou?"

Wang Xiaozhou politely replied, "Yes, hello Teacher Wang. I really like your songs, and I'm so glad to finally meet you in person today."

When Wang Feng saw that the person was indeed Wang Xiaozhou, his smile became warmer: "I also really like the song you composed. I hope to see more surprises from you in the second episode. Let's exchange phone numbers and keep in touch in the future?"

Having obtained Wang Feng's contact information so easily, Wang Xiaozhou realized once again that in this circle, as long as you have the ability, your social circle will naturally expand.

However, among the four mentors, Wang Xiaozhou only wanted to talk to Wang Feng; he would talk to the others another time.

They parted ways at the elevator entrance on the tenth floor. Wang Xiaozhou silently walked towards the audience. Coincidentally, Wu Qiuyan, who had come to the hotel a week ago to discuss the signing with the two, was also present today and was sitting right in front of Wang Xiaozhou.

Wu Qiuyan deliberately turned back to give Wang Xiaozhou a smile, seemingly quite pleased with herself, but Wang Xiaozhou ignored her.

Meng Ziyi went to the backstage dressing room by herself, and as soon as she entered the room, she sensed that something was wrong.

"What's wrong, Sister Zhang?"

He tiptoed to his opponent in the arena and asked in a low voice.

Zhang Jie glanced discreetly at the backstage area, and seeing that no one was paying attention, she replied softly:

"Li Shen, that young man with the ethereal singing voice, last week Xingcan Media approached him to sign him, but Li Shen refused. Unexpectedly, today an agent from Xingcan Media came and discussed with the production team in front of Sister Ying that Li Shen would be Li Qi's opponent in the competition, eliminating him directly."

Meng Ziyi looked surprised: "Ah, so arrogant? Won't the other contestants get upset?"

Zhang Jie curled her lip: "Who dares to have emotions? Those who can stand here and compete now are all planning to make a living in the entertainment industry. If you are honest and obedient, you can still have a chance to appear on a show. If you are disobedient, established entertainment companies like Xingcan have plenty of ways to blacklist you."

Recalling the top agent from Star Media, Meng Ziyi looked a little uneasy. Could it be that she would be the one eliminated in the next episode?

The recording had already begun, and everyone quieted down, watching the host go through the procedures with their own thoughts.

There was no need to draw lots. After reading a long string of GG words, the host directly announced that Yingzi's team assessment had begun. The first team to compete was Li Qi and Li Shen!

The contestants backstage looked at each other in bewilderment. Xingcan Media was clearly trying to establish its authority.

No matter how the production team edits it in post-production, I want you all to see on set that Li Shen is the first to be eliminated!
