Chapter 8 I've traveled across the ocean to see you

On the afternoon of December 29, 2013, Li Qingshan arrived at the peninsula.

He chose a pleasant hotel by the Han River to stay at.

After getting off the plane, he sent messages to Yoona and Jessica.

Jessica replied to the message, saying that we could have dinner together that evening, and she would bring her younger sister, but it would be a little later.

Yoona didn't reply to the message; she's probably too busy to reply.

After putting down his luggage, Li Qingshan took a nice shower, changed into a handsome outfit, and went out for a stroll. Over the years, his Korean had become extremely fluent.

Around 10 p.m., Jessica called and sent me an address.

This is a private kitchen serving Chinese food. Li Qingshan searched for a long time but couldn't find the entrance, and in the end, the owner came out to meet him personally.

This is a private kitchen run by Chinese people. You have to make a reservation in advance if you want to eat something. It's located in a quiet neighborhood.

It was converted from a private house, and they were the only customers there at the restaurant.

Krystal received a call from her sister this afternoon, saying she would accompany her to meet a friend that evening. She was very curious, as her sister doesn't seem to have many friends.

Moreover, judging from her sister's tone, she seemed to be in an exceptionally good mood, so she wondered if she was seeing her boyfriend?

In the evening, Jessica picked up her sister and went straight to the reserved place; they had arrived early.

Throughout the journey, Krystal carefully observed her sister, noticing that she had dressed up meticulously and worn a captivating perfume.

It's really unusual for someone to dress up so beautifully just to have a meal.

Then I saw my sister answer the phone, her smile was so bright and beautiful, and I could vaguely hear a magnetic male voice.

She felt like there was a cat scratching her itch, and she really wanted to know what was going on.

"Unnie, is he your boyfriend?" Krystal asked with an adorable expression as if she had discovered a shocking secret.

"Oh, wait until he gets here, don't say anything out of line." Jessica's face instantly turned as pink as a ripe apple.

Krystal grinned and pointed at her sister's face, teasingly saying, "Oh..."

Jessica pushed her sister's hand away, and the two of them started playfully wrestling.

Just then, someone knocked on the door, and Krystal looked towards the entrance of the private room.

Li Qingshan knocked on the door and waited two seconds before pushing it open and entering.

"Hi! Long time no see, I think you've become even more beautiful." Li Qingshan smiled and walked towards Jessica with his arms outstretched, his eyes full of joy.

"Hehe, I've noticed you've become quite the smooth talker." Jessica stood up, laughing happily, and hugged Li Qingshan, feeling his warm embrace.

"Are you saying I'm greasy? Haha." Li Qingshan joked, his face beaming with a sunny smile.

"Just expressing my true thoughts." Li Qingshan poured tea for the two women with elegant and skillful movements.

"What kind of man does your sister like? I can change my style. Just tell me quietly." Li Qingshan suddenly leaned closer to Krystal and said this, which startled Krystal.

After Krystal came to her senses, her earlier awkwardness disappeared, and she found the man in front of her quite interesting.

"I don't know either, maybe it's like you," Krystal joked, her eyes playful.

It's greasy for an ugly man to say that, but if a handsome man says it, it's called charming.

"Eat some vegetables, I'm starving." Jessica's face was flushed red as she fanned her face and urged, trying to hide her shyness.

"I've noticed you've changed a lot. You weren't very talkative when we first met."

Jessica noticed that Li Qingshan had changed a lot.

Li Qingshan glanced at Jessica, and his demeanor instantly changed.

She smiled slightly, didn't answer, and picked up a fragrant piece of pork rib for Jessica.

Krystal's eyes widened; she was quite surprised that someone's demeanor could change so drastically in just a few seconds.

"Did I act poorly?" Li Qingshan asked Jessica with a calm smile.

"I knew something was off. This is the Li Qingshan I know." Jessica felt that the familiar him had returned, and her heart was filled with joy.

"Just kidding, it's really nice to see you, it's been more than two years since we last met."

"Yes, two years and three months," Jessica said happily, looking into Li Qingshan's eyes, her gaze filled with longing.

Krystal ate while observing the two of them, and she realized that her sister definitely liked this man.

Today, my sister is completely different from usual. She is known as the Ice Queen, and her current state is very abnormal.

"How long will you be staying this time?"

"Let's stay put for now. It's not certain yet. There's nothing going on over there."

"So where are you planning to stay now?"

"Let's stay in a hotel for now."

The two of them asked each other questions, and Krystal swayed her head from side to side like a nimble kitten.

It was past 1 a.m. when we finished the meal.

Neither of them drank alcohol because Jessica was driving.

Li Qingshan watched Jessica drive away from the roadside, then looked down at his phone.

There's absolutely no news about it.

I took a taxi back to the hotel, washed up, and went to sleep.

When I checked my phone the next morning, I found a message.

Yoona replied that she has been attending various TV station year-end galas these past few days.

Li Qingshan realized he had come at the wrong time; the end of the year seemed to be their busiest time.

Jessica and Krystal also arrived yesterday after a party.

He called a car from the hotel to explore the area, and arrived near Hongdae in the evening.

He bought a few bottles of beer by himself, found a park step to sit on, and listened to a music street performance.

Jessica texted him to ask where he was, and he told her and sent her a picture.

She arrived in half an hour. This time she was alone, wearing a long down jacket, a baseball cap, and a mask. Judging from her eyebrows and eyes, she probably wasn't wearing makeup.

Jessica spotted Li Qingshan the moment she arrived.

Li Qingshan noticed someone sitting down next to him and recognized Jessica at a glance.

You can tell a woman's character by her scent.

"It's so cold, why aren't you wearing more clothes?" Jessica frowned slightly, her concern evident, as she saw that he was only wearing a knitted sweater underneath a long trench coat.

"I'm not cold, are you cold?" Li Qingshan reached out with his left hand and held Jessica's hands, warmth passing through his palms.

Jessica didn't move as her hands were held. She felt warm inside after being held by those big hands, and her heart was filled with warmth.

Li Qingshan held on tightly and didn't let go: "Want to drink?" Jessica nodded, her eyes full of anticipation.

He opened a bottle and handed it to Jessica. Neither of them spoke, and they listened quietly to the roadshow, enjoying the peaceful moment.

Jessica liked the atmosphere. She didn't like crowds, so she leaned gently and naturally on Li Qingshan's shoulder.

Li Qingshan glanced at it but didn't say anything. The quiet atmosphere was quite nice, and his heart was filled with warmth.

"Would you like to hear me sing? You probably haven't heard me sing before, have you?" Li Qingshan said softly, like a gentle breeze.

"You can sing? Then sing one for me." Jessica looked up at Li Qingshan in surprise, her eyes filled with delight.

"But I don't want to go there."

Why?

"What will you do if you get cold after I leave?"

After exchanging a few words, Li Qingshan and Jessica looked at each other. Li Qingshan saw that Jessica must have been smiling; her smile was like a flower blooming in spring.

"Go ahead, I want to listen, it's not cold." Jessica nudged Li Qingshan, her tone firm.

Li Qingshan stood up, took off his trench coat, and placed it on Jessica's hands to cover them, his movements gentle and considerate.

He got up, walked over to the roadshow team, said a few words to them, and pointed to Jessica's side.

Jessica rested her head on her knees, feeling the warmth from her clothes. She pulled down her mask and smelled the faint tobacco scent on her clothes, which smelled wonderful and made her feel somewhat intoxicated.

After the girl finished singing her song, her classmate said a few words to her, and she moved aside.

Li Qingshan, holding a guitar in his left hand and a bottle of beer in his right, sat down in the spot where the girl had just been.

"This song is dedicated to my beloved friend; it's called 'I've Crossed the Ocean to See You'."

Li Qingshan spoke in English, and many people were asking the people next to him what he was saying.

Many young people stared at this tall, handsome man with his medium-length hair combed back and wearing a knitted sweater.

Long, straight legs, half of her perfect collarbone exposed, all in black, as mysterious as the night.

As the music began, the melodious sound of a guitar wafted through the speakers.

Jessica quietly looked at Li Qingshan, and their eyes met.

The song begins with a magnetic voice.

"I used half a year's savings to travel across the ocean to see you."

"I even stopped breathing when we met so that we could have made this reunion."

"I have practiced repeatedly, but words have never been able to express my feelings."

"To express even a tiny fraction of what I feel is worth, for this regret."

"I thought about it all night and couldn't fall asleep."

Jessica didn't understand the lyrics, but she could roughly guess the meaning from the song title.

She felt warm all over, and in her heart too, especially after she understood the phrase "my beloved friend."

This song can actually be both sweet and bitter; Li Qingshan sings the sweet version.

Jessica kept staring at Li Qingshan, her expression hidden by her mask.

After the song was finished, the audience applauded continuously. Although they couldn't understand the lyrics, the singing was good and the song was beautiful.

Li Qingshan came to Jessica's side, and she had already handed him the clothes. He put on the trench coat.

"Let's go find a warm place to get something to eat."

After Li Qingshan finished speaking, Jessica stood up. There were too many people here, and it would be troublesome if she were recognized.

The two strolled down the street, and Jessica took Li Qingshan's hand.

Li Qingshan casually slipped her hand into his trench coat pocket. Their movements were natural, as if they were telepathically connected and perfectly in sync.

Jessica didn't actually want to eat anything; she just wanted to keep walking, being led around, and enjoying this warm and cozy time.

Li Qingshan ate something quickly and prepared to take Jessica home.

They arrived at the foot of a nice residential building, and Li Qingshan stopped.

"Go on upstairs. Send me a message when you get home before I leave," Li Qingshan said to Jessica, his voice gentle.

Jessica saw him turn around, pulled his neck down, and gave him a kiss.

Li Qingshan realized what was happening, cupped her face in his hands, and responded. After a long while, their lips parted.

Jessica blushed deeply, her eyes almost glazing with a seductive allure: "Goodnight." She turned and ran upstairs like a joyful little deer.

Li Qingshan watched her run away, amused. She kissed him and then ran off.

I glanced down at my phone; a message had arrived.

Li Qingshan went straight back to the hotel, washed up, and started watching TV.

A text message came in: "I'm taking a break these few days."

Li Qingshan smiled after reading the message: "And then?"

"Hey, you bad guy, I'll come find you tomorrow."

Li Qingshan could imagine Jessica's anger and embarrassment just by looking at his phone, and the corners of his mouth couldn't help but turn up.
