Chapter 25 Court Ceremony
Kim Heechul, Donghae, and Leeteuk left together, with Leeteuk suggesting they take a walk.
The three of them found a small shop nearby and planned to have some more drinks. After all, in such cold weather, they didn't know what else to do to pass the time without eating and drinking.
After ordering and sitting down, Leeteuk couldn't help but sigh, "What a bad day. I came here to relax and have a drink, but this has turned out to be so upsetting."
"I originally thought those old guys would just curse a few times and that would be the end of it, but who would have thought they would keep going on and on? Who would have thought we would run into such a tough nut to crack?" Donghai had been trying to persuade them from the side.
"I couldn't take it anymore, so I called Qingshan. Their insults were so awful, it was unbearable." Kim Heechul still felt a surge of anger when he thought about it.
"There's nothing we can do. Our company has a special relationship with SBS, and we artists really can't afford to offend them. Luckily, you were quick-witted and knew there was a big shot next to Aoyama, which helped us get revenge." Leeteuk raised his glass and clinked glasses with the two of them.
"Look, the phone's ringing." Leeteuk waved his phone in front of the two of them; the caller ID read "General Manager."
Leeteuk answered the phone in front of the two of them and then recounted the whole story in detail.
"Yes, I heard it with my own ears. It was the head of the Inspection Department of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office. That's right. Okay, I'll pass on the message."
After Leeteuk hung up the phone, he couldn't help but sigh, "Wow, Yuri is so lucky."
"I heard Jessica introduced them?" Leeteuk's gaze swept over the two of them.
"I heard from Yoona that Jessica introduced them." Kim Heechul nodded in agreement.
Leeteuk's mind raced, trying to recall, "Three people?"
"Qingshan is amazing at fighting. He can take on seven or eight people with ease, like it's nothing. I reckon he could beat Yesung and Sungmin with just one punch." Donghae said as he filled his two older brothers' glasses with wine.
"Why don't you invite Qingshan out for a get-together sometime? He's a really nice guy. Actually, he could have just ignored it and left on his own," Leeteuk suggested to Kim Heechul.
"Okay, let's see when. It's almost the end of the year, everyone's busy. Let's make it when we're less busy." Kim Heechul agreed with the suggestion.
SM Entertainment received the news quickly. Kim Young-min was quite troubled after receiving the report, as the person who was beaten was a vice president of SBS. Their company and SBS have always had a close relationship.
After Kim Young-min learned the details of the incident, his expression became very strange. He then immediately issued a gag order, forbidding everyone from discussing the matter or letting the news leak out.
SBS issued the same order, but with so many people present and their diverse backgrounds, the news inevitably got out.
Various circles within the Peninsula Entertainment Industry are buzzing with discussion, and the entire incident's details and course of events are being disseminated in its entirety.
This also meant that Yoona and Yuri rarely encountered those messy troubles in various situations afterward.
Generally speaking, rumors tend to become strange or exaggerated in the process of spreading, but this time, because a senior prosecutor was involved, not many people dared to spread them recklessly.
The next day, Han Cheng was summoned to the Supreme People's Procuratorate by his father.
Han Cheng walked nervously to the ground floor of the Supreme People's Procuratorate building, hesitated at the entrance for a long time, and still dared not go in.
In the reception area of the Supreme People's Procuratorate's lobby on the first floor, a middle-aged, tall, thin man stood there. He was about 175 cm tall, had a refined appearance, wore black-rimmed glasses, and a sharp suit. He would occasionally glance at his watch.
People from various departments passing by in the hall greeted him with bows and salutations, and he responded with a smile and a nod.
This man is no ordinary person; his name is Cui An, and he is the secretary of Han Anzai, the chief prosecutor of the Supreme Prosecutor's Office.
Cui An waited for Han Cheng here specifically; he was the one who made the phone call.
He watched Han Cheng pacing back and forth outside the door; ten minutes had passed.
He couldn't wait any longer and went out on his own initiative. "Come in, there's no way to hide now." Cui An looked at Han Cheng with amusement.
When Han Cheng saw Cui An, it was as if he had seen a savior. He grabbed Cui An and pulled him aside.
"Brother, how's Dad feeling?" Han Cheng peeked around, looking curiously.
"Now you're scared? You were so powerful last night. Come on in, you can't hide forever." Cui An teased him, then pulled him inside.
"Hey, don't pull me, let me call my sister first." Han Cheng hurriedly took out his phone to make the call, but Cui An stopped him.
"Your sister is here too. She's the one who handled yesterday's matter for you." Cui An put his arm around his shoulder and continued walking inside.
"You should have said so earlier." Han Cheng straightened his clothes, trying to appear as calm as possible.
The two went to the top floor together. At the door of the chief's office, Cui An glanced at Han Cheng and saw him nod to indicate that he was ready before gently knocking on the door.
A voice called out from inside, "Come in." They both quickly tidied themselves up and then pushed open the door.
The nearly 80-square-meter office is decorated entirely with mahogany, giving it a dignified and grand feel.
Opposite the desk is a sofa set for receiving guests.
A middle-aged man in his fifties was sitting in the main seat of the guest sofa.
His hair was parted in a 3/7 ratio and neatly combed. His eyebrows were arched at the ends, giving him an air of authority without anger. With his dignified appearance, this man was none other than Han Anzai.
A tall woman in her thirties standing next to him, who bore a striking resemblance to the man, was intently brewing tea at the coffee table.
"Commander, the person has been brought. I'll be leaving now." Cui An bowed to Han An, smiled and nodded at the woman, and gently pushed Han Cheng before leaving.
Neither of the two people inside paid him any attention. Han Cheng slowly walked over to the woman and sat down. He watched as the woman picked up a cup of tea and handed it to the middle-aged man, then picked up another cup and drank it herself.
Han Cheng had already reached out to take the tea, but when he saw the woman drink it herself without giving him any, the expectant smile on his face instantly froze. "Sister, where's my tea?"
The woman is Han Cheng's second older sister, named Han Xiuyan. She is four years older than Han Cheng and is exactly 30 years old this year.
"You still want tea? You're being lenient by not making me kneel." Han Xiuyan glared at Han Cheng. "Tell me, what exactly happened last night? If you dare to tell a single lie, I'll make sure you can't leave your house for a week."
Han Cheng looked at his father, then at his sister, and finally could only honestly recount what had happened the night before.
"Later, we didn't make things too difficult for these people. We just made them compensate the store for its losses." Han Cheng tried his best to act like a good boy because he knew his father would fall for it.
"They even called me, it almost made the newspapers, do you know that?" Han Xiuyan grabbed Han Cheng's ear.
"Ouch, ouch, ouch! Let go, let go now!" Actually, Han Cheng wasn't in much pain, but when he saw Han Xiuyan wink at him, he understood and started to pretend to cry.
"Alright, stop acting." Han An put down his teacup. From the moment Han Cheng entered the room until now, he hadn't even glanced at the siblings.
He knew his own children well, but he was still pleased to see the two siblings covering for each other.
The siblings immediately resumed their proper sitting posture, no longer daring to be unruly in the slightest.
"When did Qingshan arrive at the peninsula? Why didn't you invite him over for dinner?" Han An finally turned his gaze to Han Cheng.
"He's in a relationship. I just finished being busy these past few days and forgot to tell him." Han Cheng saw that his father didn't mention what happened last night, and he knew that he had gotten through this ordeal. He became more cheerful.
"Tell him to come over sometime; it's been a long time since I've seen the kid." A smile finally appeared on Han An's face.
"I am your son," Han Cheng muttered with dissatisfaction.
"I wish he were my son. If you were even half as good as him, I wouldn't have to worry about him so much." Han An glared at Han Cheng.
"Oh, you're dating? Is it Girls' Generation's Yuri?" Han Soo-yeon turned her head and asked Han Sung.
"Ah, what's wrong?" Han Cheng noticed that the old man seemed quite interested in this as well, and his back straightened up unconsciously. He realized that this was the key point of today's discussion.
Han Xiuyan noticed this as well, and quickly took out her phone to find the photo and showed it to Han Anzai.
Han Cheng saw that his father had even taken out his glasses, and he knew that the matter was settled. It wasn't because of what happened last night, so there was no need to worry anymore.
"Hmm, you're good-looking. When will you bring your child home as a guest?" Only now did Han An show some of the concern a father has for his children's relationship.
"Dad, don't rush, this is just the beginning, let's talk about it later." Han Cheng picked up his father's cup and drank the tea in one gulp.
"You little brat, you have no manners at all." Han Xiuyan raised her hand and slapped Han Cheng on the back of the head.
Han Cheng lowered his head slightly and easily dodged the attack. As soon as his sister spoke, he knew what to do. They had been fighting since they were little, and it had become muscle memory.
Han An watched his children playfully fighting and couldn't help but chuckle. "Get out of here, all of you. Stop causing trouble outside. If you do, you'll know how to clean up the mess."
The siblings quickly got up, bowed, and then ran out in a flash.
"You little brats." Han An chuckled and cursed as he watched the two figures disappear quickly.
After they left, they both breathed a long sigh of relief. They weren't so afraid at home, but they felt inexplicably fearful at work, and they didn't know why.
"You scared me again. Nothing's wrong. You scared me as soon as I went in," Han Cheng complained to Han Xiuyan.
"If I hadn't said that, do you think we could have gotten through this so easily today?" Han Xiuyan put on an expression that said, "I'm only doing this for your own good."
Han Cheng looked at his sister with suspicion, though he had a little trust in her, but not much.
What's the big deal about fighting for your girlfriend? Han Soo-yeon was just trying to scare Han Sung.
The two arrived at the parking lot. "Wow, you changed cars? You can still afford this one?"
"Qingshan, let's take turns driving." Han Cheng said smugly as he prepared to get into the car.
"He's dating someone? Who is it?" Han Xiuyan pulled Han Cheng aside, not letting him get into the car, looking very gossipy.
Han Cheng glanced around warily, then whispered a few words in Han Xiuyan's ear.
"Oh, both of them?" Han Xiuyan looked like she'd seen a ghost.
"Tsk, keep your voice down." Han Cheng quickly pulled his sister aside, and looked around like a thief.
"Yeah, with his... two would be fine too." Han Xiuyan walked towards her car with a playful look on her face.
"Hey, kid, are you coming home for dinner tonight?" Han Xiuyan remembered this and was about to ask.
As Han Cheng's car sped past, waving goodbye, Han Xiuyan glared at him, annoyed. "You brat!"
