Located on the banks of the Huangpu River, the Bund is graced by the river breeze, and lined with 52 classical buildings of distinct styles.

It is also known as a collection of international architectural styles.

The sound of ship horns echoed on the river as several old boats slowly passed by. There weren't many people on the street, but there seemed to be quite a few.

Lu Yuan had visited the Bund many times, but the Bund in his memory was slightly different from the one he saw now.

Standing there, he stared at the surrounding buildings in astonishment, a look of nostalgia on his face. Some of these scenes were things he had only seen in his dreams.

The two parked their car on the side of the road and walked slowly along the riverside track.

"To be honest, this is the first time I've walked like this without thinking about anything."

Lu Yuan remarked with considerable emotion.

"Is that so?"

Li Huan was somewhat surprised: "Are you that busy right now?"

"That's right."

Lu Yuan reflected on his busy days. He had indeed earned a lot of money, but he had hardly had any time to truly relax and enjoy life.

"After all, we're running a business. As long as the shop is open, we can't rest. Even if there's nothing to do, we have to sit in the shop, especially during holidays. We often don't have a chance to rest all year round."

This isn't just the case for shop owners; it's the life of almost everyone in the service industry.

After all, if you want to run a business, you have to endure hardship. You can't just do whatever you want, opening or closing whenever you want. If you do that, why would anyone want to work for you?

"Speaking of which, Xijing Road isn't very far from here, but I really don't have much time. The last time I came was because of an exhibition, and I didn't have time to appreciate it at all."

"In that case, I have to thank your neighbor."

Li Huan didn't expect Lu Yuan to say that, and nodded with a smile.

"Don't work too hard in the future. Life isn't just about making money. You should enjoy yourself when it's time to enjoy yourself, and you should go out and have fun when it's time to go out and have fun."

"I hope so."

Lu Yuan was stunned and said.

Li Huan pointed to a boat on the riverbank and said, "I used to come here often. I was very curious about those boatmen. Did they eat, drink, and relieve themselves on the boat? I told my mom that I wanted to be a boatman, but she said she was not willing no matter what."

Then she pointed to a place not far away and said.

"So back then, I would often stand here and look at these ships, thinking about how free the people living on them must be, instead of following the path laid out by their parents. Sometimes I would wonder if I was just living my life according to their ideas."

"It's good that you said this to me. If other people heard this, they would be so envious and jealous. If you had told me earlier that our family backgrounds were so different, I would have said more nice things to you when I spoke to you."

Lu Yuan said with a smile.

He said he was worried about the person in front of him, but in reality, he didn't react much to her words at all.

Li Huan was taken aback for a moment, then smiled and looked at him: "Don't look at me like that. Actually, I really dislike my current job. It always makes me feel restricted."

There are some things Li Huan would never say to her parents, such as feeling that her life is like a script that has been arranged by someone else.

From the schools I grew up in, to the people I made friends with, all the way to the present.

Without realizing it, she wanted to say these things to Lu Yuan, perhaps because only Lu Yuan wouldn't care about her feelings because of what she said.

Lu Yuan stroked his chin, looked at Li Huan carefully, and didn't say anything, changing his angle every now and then.

Li Huan blushed a little from his gaze and said irritably.

"What are you looking at?"

"Of course, it depends on how you do Versailles."

What she said was really infuriating. While others were still figuring out how to make a living, she was saying she longed for freedom. That just didn't sound right.

Li Huan was stunned for a moment. Perhaps it was the first time she had heard someone envy her, and she felt a little embarrassed.

"Is it really as exaggerated as you say?"

"That's right."

Lu Yuan smiled and spoke, but his words were different. Li Huan's thoughts had changed, and he stroked his chin as he spoke.

"Do you know what I was doing before this shop became popular?"

"What are you doing?"

Li Huan was genuinely curious.

In her world, Lu Yuan seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, just abruptly showing up here, without explaining anything, just doing his own thing.

Compared to Li Huan's yearning for freedom, Lu Yuan's past was much more mundane.

"It's just a tiny shop, the size of a palm. I've been working there for several years, living a muddled life. I know some people deliberately try to lower prices, but with my savings and the goods in the shop, I simply can't compete with them."

"I might as well just give up and live like this, I think it's okay."

"By the time I realized it, I found that I was no longer young..."

At first, Li Huan thought Lu Yuan was speaking from the heart, but as she listened, her expression gradually became strange.

"Not young anymore? That's a complete rip-off."

"Is it that obvious?"

Lu Yuan dodged Li Huan's elbow and asked a question.

Li Huan nodded in agreement.

After some playful fighting, the two became true friends, Li Huan said, looking at Lu Yuan.

"There's something I need to tell you, but please don't laugh at me."

"it is good."

"Actually, I'm quite worried that you'll figure out my identity and then try to use my connections to help me or something, which would put me in a difficult position."

Li Huan spoke in a very serious tone.

She believed that Lu Yuan would definitely be able to tell that her identity was not simple.

Upon hearing this, Lu Yuan shook his head repeatedly and turned to leave.

"What nonsense are you talking about? Come with me and let's see what kind of shops they have here!"

Why aren't you answering?

Li Huan walked up to Lu Yuan in a few steps, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes.

"You're not really planning to do that, are you?"

"You're really looking down on people."

Lu Yuan pointed to himself and said.

"Using connections... I have considered it. But it depends on whether Sister Li will give me face..."

"Take back what you said!"

When Li Huan heard that strange, sarcastic voice, he felt goosebumps all over his body.

Lu Yuan, however, had already strode forward without any intention of stopping.

Lu Yuan smiled and looked at the person in front of him, then pointed to the street on the Bund and said.

"A hundred years ago, this was the most prosperous place in Shanghai, and it is still the same today. My current idea is that it would be great to open a shop here."

"Open a shop here?"

This dream may not sound like a big deal, but only those who truly stand on the Bund and understand its history can understand that this idea and plan are indeed not simple.
