Peninsula: My mentor Kim Tae-yeon
Chapter 57 When Success and Fame Are Achieved
"Wake up, wake up!"
"Wake up, you idiot!"
"The Earth has exploded!"
"The world is destroyed!"
"Fire!"
"..."
"Your bank card has been frozen."
Su Xia suddenly opened her eyes on the sofa and sprang up from it.
"What did you say?!"
After the initial tension subsided, Su Xia noticed Kim Tae-yeon's deadpan eyes.
He paused for two seconds, then gave an awkward laugh.
"Was it all a dream?"
"You're such a money-grubber." Kim Tae-yeon rolled her eyes in annoyance. "It's almost three o'clock, and Liz is still waiting for you downstairs."
Su Xia shook her heavy head.
"I'll go down now."
I took a wet wipe and wiped my face to refresh myself, then went downstairs.
The door to the vocal practice room on the third floor was closed, with a sign indicating it was in use. Su Xia pushed the door open and went inside.
As soon as the door opened, the sound of the end of the second chorus of Liz's "My Love" filled my ears.
I gently closed the practice room door and stood aside listening to Liz sing.
The time was too short, only a little over a day. You could tell that Liz was trying hard to absorb what Su Xia (Kim Tae-yeon) had taught her, but she wasn't very proficient, and her listening comprehension was still lacking.
Kim Tae-yeon glanced at Su Xia beside her. Not everyone has such an exaggerated talent for learning as Su Xia.
Su Xia raised her hand and rubbed her eyes to try and cheer herself up.
After the song ended, Su Xia took the microphone and walked over.
Time was tight; they had less than six days left, so Liz could only practice choral singing while also taking time to improve her vocal skills.
Su Xia practiced from 3 PM to 7 PM. After telling Liz, she went to eat. Liz was on a diet and only ate one meal a day, which was enough for lunch, so she didn't go over.
Instead of going out to buy something to eat, Su Xia went to the staff canteen on the second basement floor to see what CJ Entertainment had prepared for its employees' dinner.
Contrary to expectations of overcrowding, only a few people were seen carrying their trays and finding places to sit down. A quick glance around the large cafeteria revealed that there were probably more people cooking than eating.
Seeing this, Su Xia couldn't help but feel curious. She chose a spicy cabbage and pork rib soup and started chatting with the chef while waiting for her meal.
"Hey, why is nobody eating dinner tonight?"
"Unless the company has a large-scale overtime work schedule, everyone is out enjoying the nightlife. Who would come to the company for dinner?" The chef skillfully prepared the spicy cabbage and pork rib soup that Su Xia ordered, answering Su Xia's question as he did so.
"Do celebrities often eat here?"
"I've basically never seen them. The only time they come to eat is when the variety show studio on the fifth floor is filming."
"Oh right, there's a variety show studio on the fifth floor." The chef said this, and he remembered what his assistant, Lao Jin, had told him about the functions of each floor in the company.
"Some tvN and Mnet variety shows have a portion of their content filmed at CJ Entertainment; I've been there before," Kim Tae-yeon said from the side.
Variety show recordings are not always done in one studio. Depending on whether it's indoors or outdoors, and the urgency of the situation in the TV station's studio, the studios are allocated accordingly. The studio on the fifth floor of CJ Entertainment is very well-equipped and is often used by various TV stations for emergencies.
"There's quite a lot of work to be done in this building," Su Xia muttered.
"Alright, here, your pork rib soup."
"Thank you, how much?" Su Xia took out his wallet from his pocket. He had come here specifically to exchange 10,000 RMB for Korean Won.
However, he has only spent a little over 10,000 Korean won in banknotes so far.
"The performers don't pay." The chef waved his hand and pointed to the machine at the window. "Just swipe your work card here."
"There's this perk too?" Su Xia raised an eyebrow and swiped her card.
"Beep! Celebrity card!"
"Alright, take it away."
"Thank you." Su Xia happily carried the tray away.
"Look over there." Kim Tae-yeon's voice rang out as soon as Su Xia sat down.
"Which way?" Su Xia looked up after hearing Kim Tae-yeon's words and saw the blank back of the person standing at the entrance of the cafeteria.
Even though it was the first time they had met, Su Xia felt that the girl was quite naive when she saw her.
This is a feeling.
"Who is that?"
"Naoi Rei." Kim Tae-yeon, whose angle allowed her to see the girl's profile, provided the answer.
"What's she doing here?" Su Xia asked curiously.
"The dressing room is next door. They must be here to look at stage costumes, right?" Kim Tae-yeon said, as another figure walked over.
Su Xia recognized him.
"It's my favorite autumn-senpai," Su Xia said happily, taking a sip of pork rib soup.
"What about chestnuts?" Kim Tae-yeon asked without turning her head.
"I already know Chestnut, so I can't just talk nonsense. I'm a person of principle."
Kim Tae-yeon turned away speechlessly.
"Look in the mirror. Which part of your body is even remotely related to the word 'principle'?"
Su Xia, who was sitting down, was stunned for a moment, then lowered her head.
Kim Tae-yeon was also stunned by Su Xia's actions, and then slapped her forehead.
Are you really human?
Su Xia chuckled awkwardly; it was truly an instinctive reaction.
"Aki-senpai is so short." Looking up at Kin Akira, who was shorter than Naoi Rei, she changed the subject.
"That's because Naoi Rei is too tall." Kim Taeyeon didn't dwell on the issue; she wasn't like Sunny, who was into adult content.
"Do you think I should go up and ask for their contact information?" Su Xia looked at Jin Qiutian and Zhijing Lian's figures, eager to try.
"Whatever you want." Kim Tae-yeon glanced at Su Xia, "But I don't think it makes any sense. You're not going to settle in Korea, so what's the point of getting your contact information?"
"It's called cross-border, but it's really only a few hours' journey. It's no different from being in another city." Su Xia seemed to be convincing Kim Tae-yeon, but in reality, she was convincing herself.
"So your target has changed from chestnuts to autumn?"
Kim Tae-yeon's words made Su Xia, who was eager to try, pause in her actions.
Looking at the golden autumn, and then thinking about Liz in the practice room...
"You're right." Su Xia nodded in agreement. "I'll just eat my food."
"Which statement makes sense?" Kim Tae-yeon asked, somewhat puzzled.
"Don't treat this like a selection of concubines; they won't even look at me."
Did I say that?
Kim Tae-yeon scratched her head.
I can't remember, so let's just pretend I said it.
"That's right. Focus on your career at such a young age. Romance will come naturally when you achieve success." Kim Tae-yeon said with a look of "you're a promising young man."
"That's right!" Su Xia clenched her fist, her face beaming with excitement. "You're right, focusing on your career is the key."
"If I blossom, butterflies will come!"
"Once I've achieved fame and success, I'll buy a yacht and throw yacht parties every day!"
"The sea is unprotected, so there's no impact!"
Kim Tae-yeon: "???"
Is that what I mean?
