Peninsula: My mentor Kim Tae-yeon
Chapter 55 On Fu Xue
"Hehehe, the takeout is here~~"
Su Xia took the takeout from the receptionist and happily returned to the practice room.
Liz quickly stood up.
"You open it, I'll have a sip of iced cola first." Su Xia handed the takeout bag to Liz, while she took a big gulp of the individually packaged cola herself.
So delicious!
Liz deftly opened the takeout box, took out the fried chicken and light sandwiches, and then went to move a chair.
"It smells so good!" Su Xia's eyes lit up, and she plopped down on the floor, which made Liz, who was moving chairs, pause for a moment, but then she laughed.
He put the chair back in its place, walked over quickly, and sat down on the floor like Su Xia.
After Liz sat down, she could comfortably eat at the coffee table, which wasn't too low. This reminded Su Xia of someone whose forehead was so low that she couldn't see it when he sat down, and she couldn't help but laugh.
"Chestnut, you must be 1.7273 meters tall, right?" Su Xia said while putting on disposable gloves.
"Yes, I'm 171cm tall barefoot." Liz was about to eat her sandwich, but put it down again after hearing Su Xia's words and replied.
"Let's eat and chat." Su Xia gestured for her to order whatever she wanted. "You look over 1.7 meters tall sitting down."
Liz took a small bite of the sandwich, chewing as she looked down at her own height and Su Xia's height across from her.
"Yeah?"
"A friend of mine says she's 1.6 meters tall, but I feel she's at most 1.58 meters tall, only this tall when she sits down," Su Xia gestured.
"I'm as tall as Taeyeon sunbaenim," Liz said with a smile.
Is it possible that she is Kim Tae-yeon?
Su Xia smiled mysteriously, glanced at the direction of the window, and saw that Kim Tae-yeon's figure had disappeared, and she didn't know where she had run off to.
"You guys at IVE are all pretty tall, right? Especially Wonyoung and Yoojin."
"Hmm." Liz nodded. "Except for Chul-ju unnie, everyone is over 165cm. The maknae is 168cm, Kim Rei unnie is 170cm, I'm 171cm, Won-young unnie and Yoo-jin unnie are both 173cm, but actually they're a little taller, but no matter how I ask them, they won't tell me." Liz shrugged and said.
"Wonyoung...unnie?" Su Xia paused in her chicken leg-eating, looking at Liz in surprise. "You're younger than Wonyoung?"
"Yes." Liz nodded. "Won Young unnie is a few months older than me."
"Isn't this someone my age?"
"Even if you're a day older, you're still an unnie."
Su Xia: "..."
"I thought only twins would be so conflicted about whether a twin is older or younger," Su Xia couldn't help but complain.
"We'll be paying a little more attention to this," Liz explained with a smile.
"Is this just a little bit?" Su Xia clicked her tongue. "Jin Qiutian is the eldest sister, right?"
"Yes, unnie was born in 02."
"He's two years younger than me," Su Xia muttered, then her eyes lit up. "You were born in 04, shouldn't you call me Oppa?"
Liz was taken aback by Su Xia's question, but then she laughed.
"Yes, Su Xia oppa."
Those who are called out understand.
This smiling oppa is like a spring breeze blowing through my heart, eh~
Beautiful!
"I'm starting to understand why guys like dating Korean girls. Who can resist that 'Oppa'?" Su Xia exclaimed.
Liz covered her mouth with her hand and chuckled.
"This fried chicken tastes really good. What flavor is it? It tastes a bit like kimchi to me."
Liz picked up the receipt.
"You ordered a random flavor, but the restaurant gave you kimchi and pork rib flavored fried chicken as a complimentary gift."
Su Xia suddenly realized why it smelled like kimchi.
"Yujin unnie quite likes this flavor," Liz revealed a little habit of Ahn Yujin's.
"Speaking of Ahn Yu-jin... do you know about the China Internet Network, which is the internet in our country that had a period of popularity called 'Fuxue' (芙学, a term referring to a type of online learning or study)? Have you heard of it?"
"Fu Xue? What's that?" Liz looked at Su Xia blankly and subconsciously took a bite of her sandwich.
"Fu is a homonym for IVE, and Xue means academic subject. Fu Xue means to infer the relationship between members by observing their expressions in public."
"Huh?" Liz was dumbfounded.
"At the time, the hot topic in the Fuxue (a type of online forum) was whether Ahn Yu-jin and Jang Won-young disliked each other because they were vying for the center position, and various clips were extracted as evidence to support this view."
"How could that be!" Liz denied, her eyes wide. "Yoojin unnie has changed her phone three times, and she still has photos of Wonyoung unnie from her trainee days on it."
"Wonyoung unnie calls Chu-ju unnie and Kim Rei unnie by their names followed by 'unnie,' but she directly calls Yu-jin unnie 'unnie.'"
"Won-young unnie and Yoo-jin unnie are already like family!" Liz listed several details to refute the claim that Won-young and Yoo-jin were at odds.
"They've known each other for about six or seven years, haven't they?" IZONE has been around for six years now, as is IVE.
"It should be seven or eight years." Liz wasn't too sure either, mainly because she hadn't met either of them before IVE debuted.
"Speaking of which, when you debuted, you were nervous because you debuted with the two maknaes from IZ*ONE?" Su Xia asked curiously.
Liz nodded frantically, like a chick pecking at rice.
"I'm so, so, so nervous!"
"I almost fainted when I saw Wonyoung unnie and Yoojin unnie in the practice room! Those are Jang Wonyoung and Ahn Yoojin!"
"I can't believe I can be teammates with them? This is unbelievable!" Liz exclaimed in disbelief.
It's clear that even now, she is still deeply shocked by what she experienced.
Come to think of it, those were Jang Won-young and Ahn Yoo-jin, who were undoubtedly the most popular members of the fifth generation of idol groups at the time.
Of course, even now, Zhang Yuanying is still a top star.
"When you guys first debuted, we used to say that IVE was a pair of twin stars with four accessories," Su Xia said with a smile.
"That's what the Korean websites are saying too." Liz didn't seem to care much. "They're not wrong; we definitely benefited from it."
"That might have been the case at the beginning, but now, IVE wouldn't be complete without any of you," Su Xia said, shaking her head.
IVE's success today is related to every member, just in varying degrees.
"It's not really related to me, is it?" Liz blinked, thinking for a moment but unable to recall where she had made any contribution.
"The contrast is what generates so much buzz. Who doesn't know that Liz from IVE used to be chubby, but now she's slim and stunningly beautiful?"
Liz pursed her lips shyly.
"It's not that pretty..."
"Pretty is pretty." Su Xia shook her head. "Anyway, you're the most pleasing-to-the-eye look in your IVE group."
"Thank you," Liz said with a slight blush and a smile.
"Furthermore, besides the buzz surrounding you, your singing ability also represents IVE's vocal standards. How can you say there's no connection between such a strong correlation?"
