I'm determined to become an immortal!

Chapter 57 Three Lives in My Body [3rd Update, Please Read On!]

He Sheng held the divination talisman given to him by Feng Lingzi between his fingertips, his divine sense sweeping over the surface of the talisman repeatedly like a fine net, but he couldn't figure it out.

"A trade is like a mountain; without knowledge of talismans, one can't understand anything at all."

Without further hesitation, He Sheng channeled his magical power into it.

scoff!

The light gold talisman burst into flames without warning, and the golden halo, like a tangible liquid, quickly spread across He Sheng's vision, dyeing the entire cave a brilliant gold.

Swish!

In the next instant, He Sheng's consciousness seemed to be drawn by an invisible force, falling into the depths of the halo.

The scene before my eyes began to distort and recombine, transforming into a series of profound images.

Splash...

Accompanied by the sound of flowing water, a winding stream appears deep within the golden halo.

The stream is crystal clear, and the bottom is covered with smooth pebbles. Sunlight shines through the water and casts dappled shadows on the stones.

Then, the scene shifts, the stream begins to converge, the slopes on both banks become gentler, and the water surface gradually widens.

The clear stream flows into a wider river channel, where the current becomes gentle and steady, and the surface of the water is like a mirror, reflecting the lush trees on both banks.

The river flows silently, yet it contains a profound sense of encompassing all things.

Then, the river flows on and on, the cliffs on both sides disappear, and the view suddenly opens up.

A mighty river appeared before my eyes, its surface wide and boundless, its turbid waves surging into the sky, and amidst the misty vapor, the image of fish leaping over the dragon gate could be vaguely seen.

The river flows mightily, rushing to the sea never to return, its majestic grandeur overwhelming.

Finally, the great river flows into a boundless lake.

The lake surface is as calm as jade, deep and restrained, as if all the turmoil of the world has been settled in the depths of the lake, leaving only a tranquil peace that harmonizes all things.

Could this imagery correspond to "true water"?

He Sheng had previously glanced at the jade slip given to him by Feng Lingzi and had a general understanding of the symbols of Yin and Yang and the Five Elements mentioned in it.

Before he could think any further, the golden halo in front of him suddenly trembled.

The water ripples that once sculpted all things receded instantly, replaced by a patch of gray, damp soil.

The soil was a sickly dark gray, covered with a layer of slippery moss, and exuded a musty, rotten smell.

He Sheng could even "see" through his divine sense that countless tiny white mycelia were wriggling in the cracks of the soil, feeding on the rotting dead leaves.

An indescribable stench crept into his nostrils, a smell of death and decay that made his stomach churn.

This land seemed to have no end; under the hazy sky, there was only this desolate wasteland.

Occasionally, a few twisted, withered trees would sprout from the soil, their branches like withered bones, without a single leaf. Only a few crows would perch on them, emitting hoarse, shrill cries.

"This seems to be 'Female Earth,' and it appears my primary destiny is 'True Water,' while my secondary destiny is 'Female Earth'?"

He Sheng made a brief comparison between the two images.

The former is magnificent and incredibly clear, even down to the smallest detail;

The latter, while also very realistic, is somewhat vague in certain subtle details, which is naturally a sign of a slightly inferior destiny.

According to Feng Lingzi, ordinary people who are without destiny cannot even see a single image.

Some people can only see one image, which means they only have one destiny.

Most people with mixed spiritual roots have a dual destiny, one primary and one secondary.

Therefore, He Sheng thought the fortune telling was over, but at that moment, something changed again deep within the golden halo.

This time, there were no magnificent rivers, nor decaying wetlands.

At the end of the halo, a narrow and cramped ditch appeared.

This canal leads to who-knows-where, and flows with thick, churning black water.

The black water was filled with all sorts of indescribable filth, mutilated corpses, bizarre creatures, and even indescribable evil spirits, all floating up and down.

As the scene of the black water became more and more realistic, a nauseating stench entered He Sheng's mouth and nose.

The aura was so intense it felt almost tangible, causing He Sheng's consciousness to become hazy and even making him feel dizzy.

The canal was surrounded by cold stone walls covered with slippery moss, and occasionally a few fat maggots could be seen wriggling on the walls.

The water flowed slowly and viscously, and with every inch it flowed, it seemed to be dragging away the filth of the entire world, carrying a suffocating sense of oppression.

Swish!

The golden halo suddenly closed, and the divination talisman burned out, finally ending the divination. He Sheng came to his senses, his face filled with shock.

"I have three destinies?!"

Feng Lingzi never mentioned such a situation.

"Is this guy just ignorant, or am I just exceptionally gifted?"

He carefully recalled the third image, the filthy black water churning in the ditch, which seemed even more real than the first image.

"Could this... be my true destiny?"

He Sheng felt a little strange, so he took out the jade slip that Feng Lingzi had given him and carefully examined the fate information recorded inside.

The third image represents evil and filthy "turbid water," which is completely opposite to the first image representing "true water" that nourishes and encompasses all things.

This jade slip not only introduces the various images that different destinies can evolve into, but also provides a general overview of some common knowledge about destiny.

Simply put, even if an ordinary person has two destinies, it is probably based on their spiritual root. The spiritual root with the strongest sensitivity manifests a primary destiny, and the next strongest manifests a secondary destiny.

"Piao Ge has top-grade dual-elemental spiritual roots of water and earth. His sensitivity to water spiritual roots is as high as 43, which is considered excellent. He is not far from having earth spiritual roots."

The sensitivity of the earth-elemental spiritual root is 38, which is slightly weaker.

The classification of spiritual root aptitude is based on the single-system sensitivity. A sensitivity of less than 10 points is a useless spiritual root, 10 to 20 points is a low-grade spiritual root, 20 to 30 points is a mid-grade spiritual root, 30 to 50 points is a high-grade spiritual root, and so on.

"The manifestation of the first and second images just now can correspond to Brother Piao's spiritual root aptitude."

Those with water-based spiritual roots have the strongest sensitivity and manifest [True Water] as their primary life force.

The sensitivity of the Earth element spiritual root is secondary, and the manifestation of [Female Earth] is the secondary destiny.

But where did the last "turbid water" come from?

The jade slip states that, generally speaking, a person will not have two completely opposite destinies, but "True Water" and "Turbid Water" are precisely two completely opposite destinies.

Could it be that this "turbid water" is my destiny?

He Sheng felt that this was the only explanation that made some sense.

"I never imagined I possessed three destinies, but neither [Turbid Water] nor [Earth] are particularly auspicious attributes."

The image of "turbid water" goes without saying; the sheer evil and filth it represents is enough to tell that it is not something that any orthodox sect could possess.

The "Female Earth" character, whose symbolic representation is "the dark and mysterious transformation," is no pushover either.

The jade slip briefly mentions that 【Female Earth】is also known as Sinking Yin Earth or Yin Corpse Earth. It is cold in nature and is responsible for storing changes.

In this world, only the major demonic sects within the Tongyouming True Path possess the inherited cultivation methods for this destiny.

"The methods of cultivating the divine energy and spiritual path must be compatible with one's own destiny."

In other words, I can only switch paths and start anew if I obtain the cultivation techniques of either [True Water], [Female Earth], or [Turbid Water].

As the saying goes, those who are destined for it ride dragons and soar to the heavens; those who defy it struggle to even take a single step.

How can I obtain these three cultivation techniques?
