Erii: A Journey Through the Heavens Begins with Frilian

Chapter 70 Seeking one's own death, utterly vulnerable.
"So much meaty soil," Ran Bing murmured.
Looking around, the entire road is occupied by dark gray human stone sculptures of various shapes.
Most of them maintained their escape posture from when they were alive, running desperately in one direction, but in the end they could not outrun death and were absorbed by some kind of large Devouring Beast in an instant.
Mark waved, signaling to proceed slowly.
The group advanced with guns raised, keeping watch while scrutinizing each and every piece of flesh and earth.
Erii, immersed in the scene, gradually came to understand the despair and terror of the people at that time, as if they had all come back to life and were making their last struggle before death.
"Huh?" Ran Bing let out a curious exclamation.
Following her gaze, she saw two fleshy figures, a man and a woman, tightly embracing each other, their shattered heads face to face and lips to lips, adding a touch of apocalyptic romance to the oppressive atmosphere.
Lovers mock Death, and in the instant their bodies freeze, their burning love becomes eternal.
Finally, today, everyone witnessed their unwavering devotion until death.
"I've heard that in the old world, people could engage in such intimate acts without being punished," Ran Bing said, her eyes fixed on Mark's retreating figure.
Having been through Erii's ordeal, Zaibing could no longer suppress the restlessness in his heart, and his resistance to the three laws intensified.
"Yes, they could be lovers or husband and wife. People in the old world were free to choose the people they liked," Penny chimed in, her eyes glancing at Donnie beside her, a deep affection welling up in them.
"These are all feudal customs from the old world. Stop looking at prohibited materials," Donnie scoffed, oblivious to the situation.
"It's not a feudal custom," Erii muttered under her breath, displeased. "It's better to guide than to suppress. If you keep holding things in like this, you'll all become psychologically abnormal sooner or later."
The tone and manner of speaking are very much like a child venting their dissatisfaction and reprimanding an adult who has made a mistake.
Upon hearing this, Bing and Penny exchanged a glance and burst out laughing in unison.
"Hey, I'm talking to you, you pervert~" Penny teased playfully.
Donnie was speechless. "Fine, I'm a pervert, okay?"
The common people grinned and laughed, quite pleased to see the high and mighty upper class being rebuffed.
"Sigh, you're right~" Mo Cheng said helplessly, pouting. "Who told us to be born in this godforsaken apocalypse?"
Just then, a voice that seemed out of place in the relaxed atmosphere rang out.
"Are you challenging the authority of the Three Laws?" Sharif said in a deep voice. "I have recorded every word you have said. Don't forget that supervising the battle is also the duty of the Law Institute. Anyone who violates the law has the right to be shot on sight."
Sure enough, a group of armed deacons stared at everyone with hostile eyes, as if they were not being challenged by the Lighthouse or the Three Laws, but rather their dignity had been humiliated.
They've gone so far as to deceive themselves by borrowing power from others; once they have a little authority, they assume the role of the master!
"Tch, who are you trying to scare?" Mo Cheng said dismissively.
"The hunters are really lacking in discipline!" Sharif muttered.
"When will the Light and Shadow Society be willing to come down and suffer?" Donnie's thinking was old-fashioned, but he joined the group at lightning speed.
Erii, being the straightforward one, struck a pose of eager anticipation, her face brimming with excitement, her eyes gleaming with a chilling golden light in the dim light.
The thought of her ruthless and merciless actions yesterday sent chills down the spines of all the deacons, who were filled with dread.
"Quiet down, everyone, and focus on the search," Mark said, nipping any potential conflict in the bud.
Afterwards, everyone began to plunder this new area, making a fortune. Some of the Dust People took the opportunity to secretly hoard the mechanical watches and jewelry they obtained from Flesh Earth.
Mark did not stop them when he saw this. He knew that the Dust People had suffered too much injustice, so he simply turned a blind eye.
"What are you doing!"
Suddenly, a deacon shouted.
"I...I didn't do anything," Dustman4068 hurriedly stuffed a Rolex into his pocket, trying to deny it.
"Bring it out! A commoner hoarding supplies should be executed on the spot!" The deacon was clearly determined.
If you can't bully the hunters, can't you bully a mere commoner like yourself?
Mark frowned and shouted to Sharif, "Keep an eye on your men! This isn't a lighthouse. Safe evacuation is the priority!"
"Something's getting closer, clicking and rustling, like bugs, lots of them," Erii said to Ranbing.
Ran Bing was startled and hurriedly said, "Mark, there's a swarm of spine-borne worms!"
sieve!
From the shadows, a spine leaped up and hissed as it struck the deacon in the face.
"Ahhh~ Help me, help me!"
The deacon was so frightened that he cried out for his parents. Sharif stepped forward and slapped him, sending the spinal worm flying.
rustling!
In the blink of an eye, countless spine-borne parasites emerged from the narrow gaps in all directions, swirling with a bloody, foul odor.
The so-called spinal worm is a kind of insect-like parasitic beast that mainly uses the release of hallucinogenic toxins to parasitize and control living things.
They resemble centipedes, but are as large as a washbasin, and are entirely grayish-white like bones.
Aside from their long, sharp limbs, their heads are the most terrifying feature.
Erii clearly saw that when the spine worm was attacked, its head and mouthparts expanded, revealing a human face—a monstrous skull with two extremely long bony tentacles on its forehead!
"Take the supplies and evacuate," Mark calmly replied.
Bang bang bang!
The hunters had already opened fire, but the spine worm's shell was extremely hard and its serpentine movements made it difficult to hit, so they could only temporarily delay the enemy.
"Zzzzz~ Captain, you guys get out here right now! Flying Snow has detected a snake-dog entering the spaceship from one side, and it's very close to you." Jeff's words were like adding insult to injury, and the Dust People were so frightened that their legs went weak.
"Run! Mo Cheng, you lead the way, Dust People, follow!" Mark roared, pressing the communicator. "Jeff, have Erica meet us at the exit, activate the gravity assist!"
The crowd ran for their lives, creating utter chaos.
Bang bang bang!
Amidst the deafening gunfire, Erii sensed a malevolent killing intent.
She reached out and caught a bullet that had been aimed at the back of her head with her bare fingers. The skin on her fingers shimmered with a metallic sheen and had faint dragon scale patterns, a result of her meticulous application of dragon blood to achieve localized dragonification.
The deacon who fired the shot was stunned by the scene, not even noticing that a spiny worm had already crawled onto his shoulder.
"ah"
The spine worm suddenly accelerated, clamping down on the deacon's cheeks like a facehugger, and instantly sprayed out a large amount of fishy substance, causing him to stop struggling and fall into a hallucination.
Under the influence of hallucinations, the butler raised his gun and fired, instantly killing one of his colleagues with a headshot.
boom!
Sharif shot and killed the parasitized subordinate, then stared menacingly at the motionless Erii.
Before long, the main force had disappeared around the corner ahead.
Unfortunately, the passage they were running through could not bear the weight and collapsed, creating a pit nearly twenty meters deep.
"Eri has not arrived yet!" Ran Bing's voice faintly came through.
"You guys go first, don't worry about me," Erii called out crisply.
"Let's go. Don't you know how skilled she is? We'll only be a burden!" After Mo Cheng's persuasion, the footsteps faded into the distance.
Soon, only Sharif and other members of the Law Institute remained, along with the ever-approaching swarm of spineworms.
The two deacons threw high-explosive grenades, scattering the swarm of spiny worms and buying them some time.
"What kind of monster are you?" Sharif watched Erii throw away the deflated bullets, and without hesitation, he raised his hand and emptied the magazine.
The others opened fire, shooting at Erii without regard for anything else.
Two of them even used flamethrowers, and the raging flames instantly engulfed her.
A fierce wind surged, and the dust-free land formed a barrier that repelled everything, isolating and pushing away bullets and flames.
Puff puff!
The ricocheting bullets instantly pierced through the bodies of several people.
"Die," Erii whispered.
As Sharif looked around in utter horror, all the deacons suddenly trembled and were instantly severed in half at the waist.
"Did Charles order you to kill me?" Erii asked.
Sharif was stunned, speechless with shock. "You...you're a monster? What are you?"
"die."
At her command, Sharif brought his head to her.
Erii kicked away the head that had rolled to her feet and looked at the swarm of spine goblins that resembled a white wave.
They surged in layer upon layer on the roof, walls, and ground, like a rotating spiral tide, releasing a pungent odor that was so intense it was almost tangible.
Erii drew her sword and pointed it at them calmly.
"Whoosh!" She smiled playfully, and the blade made a light, sweeping cut.
The clanging sound of a blade slicing through bone echoed continuously.
The swarm of spine-borne worms that had reached overhead fell gracefully down, turning into sorrowful dust of broken bones in mid-air.
In an instant, hundreds and thousands of spine-borne worms covered the entire passage, turning it into an eerie white.
