Erii: A Journey Through the Heavens Begins with Frilian

Chapter 48 The Goddess's Blessing

"Frilian's companions are indeed very capable," Lylene remarked.

This was true eighty years ago, and it is even more true eighty years from now.

"She's so strange. She's not a monster, not a demon, and not an elf," Zanze said blankly, without any emotion. "She's even less like a human."

"Well, although she's incredibly strong, she's not inhuman, is she?" Hugh Tarek weakly defended his junior sister.

"I only said she doesn't look human, not that she's not human. After all, how can she look human in her current state?" Zanze retorted earnestly.

She then shifted her gaze to the rock serpent. "Should we make a move? This monster is very strong; we might have to send a few of them over as well."

Lylene shook her head. "Let's wait and see."

As they were talking, Erii's figure suddenly disappeared, leaving only the tree with its branches and leaves shattered from the shock. The three of them were so startled that they paused in their tracks and quickly focused their attention on observing.

Bang!

A sonic boom was heard.

Erii, as powerful as a cannonball, had already traversed the sky, heading straight for the Rock Serpent's head.

The twin swords crossed in a cross slash, imbued with the murderous intent of judgment.

The rock serpent neither dodged nor evaded, but instead spewed out a rotating black magic circle from its mouth, the viscous, ink-like magic coalescing into venomous snake-like claws.

Whoosh whoosh~

Erii darted through the thousands of hands and claws, decisively abandoning her plan to cut off the snake's head. She leaped up close to the ground, stepping on the jagged, wild branches of the trees, and swiftly climbed onto the snake's back.

A simultaneous slash with both swords!

In an instant, earth and rocks flew everywhere, and the blow nearly severed the snake's body, leaving a shocking cross-shaped wound deep inside the rock.

Just as she was about to try again, she realized that the Blade of Salvation had shattered into pieces, leaving only the hilt in her hand.

The hero had nearly exhausted his divine power, and with the cruel erosion of time, the attachment of the power of judgment was like adding an immense burden. Erii's ruthless attack, which surpassed even the hero's, became the final straw that broke the camel's back.

She simply sheathed Tsukuyomi and unleashed a primal and violent barbaric attack with her dragon claws raised.

The instinct etched into the dragon's genes is roaring; a dragon's battle is about discarding external objects, tearing its opponents apart with its own limbs, and biting off the enemy's throat with its sharp teeth.

call!

She shot into the sky like a spring rising from the ground, aiming her attack at the rock snake's wound with the Mount Tai Meteor Fall.

boom--

As it turns out, you don't necessarily have to strike the snake at its vital spot.

As long as you have enough strength, you can hit anywhere.

As they watched the rock snake explode in two, Lylene and Zanze's fingers twitched simultaneously, and they felt a phantom pain in their lower backs.

"As expected of my fellow disciple, you've grasped the ultimate essence of combat so quickly—strength overcomes everything!" Shutark clapped his hands excitedly.

Despite having lost half its body, the rock snake remained vigorous and even more agile and swift, repeatedly biting Erii.

Driven only by a wisp of violent remnant soul, it doesn't even qualify as a life.

It is precisely because of this that the damage caused by the Word of Power: Judgment is limited, since the rule of certain death is mainly aimed at living beings.

This is also why Erii prefers hand-to-hand combat.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

And so, one louder explosion after another echoed on and on.

Until the snake's head was blasted apart by Erii's spiraling impact, the remnant soul of the World-Destroying Serpent lost its vessel and manifested as a wisp of black magic.

The next second, the remnant soul exploded, splitting into hundreds that fled in all directions.

"Let's do it," Lylene said at just the right moment.

Zanze remained silent, immediately mobilizing her magic and using her signature skill.

Swish swish!

Her long hair suddenly grew wildly, instantly covering the sky, and under her control, it dispersed and chased after the remnant soul.

Lyleen and the surrounding patrol guards were not idle either, and they all used ranged magic to eliminate the threat completely.

Various flashy spells shot out randomly in mid-air, and before long all the remaining souls were completely obliterated.

Erii took advantage of the moment and had already disappeared into the dense forest, taking out a set of clothes from her backpack.

"La la~ la la la~"

After her dragon transformation was removed, her fair and alluring body was breathtaking. The remaining fabric did serve to cover her, but it also increased her charm.

She hummed a cheerful tune as she quickly dressed.

Thanks to Philon's patient education and reminders, Erii was able to give up her bad habit of taking off her clothes anytime and anywhere, and gradually realized that girls should pay attention to their privacy and must have the proper sense of ethics and shame.

She had just slung her bag over her shoulder when she turned around and looked up, and a figure suddenly appeared in front of her, startling her so much that she jumped back.

If she were alone, she certainly wouldn't have gone to such lengths; she would have simply killed her.

Because what floated in front of me was a glowing humanoid silhouette, entirely silver-white, with a crystal-clear and holy quality upon closer inspection.

Monster?

Erii made a move as if to draw her sword and slash.

"Wait!"

The glowing silhouette spoke, a soft and gentle female voice, like an ethereal echo in a secluded valley, seemingly capable of soothing many troubles and fears.

Erii scratched her head, recalling the words of the elf Amyusha, and suddenly asked in surprise, "You're a goddess?!"

"You may call me that, a traveler from another world," the goddess replied.

"You know?" Erii asked in surprise.

"Of course," the goddess replied.

"Aren't you going to kick me out?" she asked again.

"You meant no harm. Since it's a trip, you'll naturally leave," she replied patiently.

Erii thought for a moment, "Does heaven really exist?"

The goddess seemed to smile and said gently, "If you believe, it exists; if you don't believe, it doesn't. Those who cherish each other will always meet again."

"What's the reward?" Erii asked directly.

"Are we playing a question-and-answer game? What a lovely child," the goddess said. "What do you want?"

Erii pondered for a moment, then shook her head. "I don't know."

The goddess continued, "To put it another way, what are you most afraid of?"

Erii was stunned.

The goddess seemed to have seen through her thoughts: "Malice."

Erii fell silent, having just heard the insightful comment.

When she first arrived in this other world, she encountered only beautiful things. However, as she delved deeper into the experience, the darker side of humanity and the world began to emerge, awakening her long-held negative emotions.

She cherishes pure and simple emotions and is willing to reciprocate sincerity with sincerity. She does not want people to approach her with malice.

In her view, malice is more terrifying than any monster or demon race; it has no physical form but is omnipresent.

"I know what to give you." The goddess reached out her glowing hand, stroked Erii's head, and slowly moved it down to touch the diamond pendant hanging around her neck.

These were the belongings of the barbecue uncle.

hum!

All the brilliance suddenly contracted and poured into the diamond.

The goddess's silhouette faded, but Erii's blessing still lingered in her ears.

"My child, I have given it the ability to sense malice, but I hope that you will never need to use it in the days to come, and I believe that you will grow into an adult who is not afraid of any malice."

"The world may not be perfect, but you can define what happiness is."

Have a pleasant trip.
