Erii: A Journey Through the Heavens Begins with Frilian
Chapter 26 Who Rules the Darkness?
"She can't see without light, so even if she's incredibly skilled, she's easily ambushed," Philon said, frowning.
"She just said she heard it," Frilian said, not letting concern cloud her judgment, "and without hesitation, she went straight for the lair. I don't think this was just a coincidence that she chose it randomly."
"Let's hurry up and catch up," Philon said, agreeing with the suggestion but still urging on.
"No rush, let's deal with the immediate problem first." Frilian raised her hand, lightning crackling at her fingertips.
laugh--
The lightning struck instantly, and the intertwined silver snakes of electricity burst forth, illuminating the cave and instantly killing dozens of leaping ghouls.
call!
Erii had transformed into a Wind Demon Queen, speeding away amidst a throng of Kamaitachi.
Puff puff!
Along the way, ghouls constantly attacked from all sides, and without exception, they were all beheaded by blades.
Darkness cloaked her in black armor, and enemies with nowhere to hide could only be slaughtered on her proud home turf.
The cave ghouls have incredibly sharp hearing, capable of accurately detecting even the slightest movement of a mosquito's wings, but in the face of the Endless Wind Demons, they are no different from sparrows compared to swans.
Erii is having a bit too much fun.
The Kamaitachi gathered countless sounds into a torrent flowing into the sea, causing eardrums to throb wildly, brains to enter a state of high-intensity excitement, and the body to receive extreme stimulation, with every muscle seemingly roaring with a thirst for battle.
She could even hear the baby whimpering.
Little did they know that if it were any other mixed-race person, they would already be bleeding from both ears and dizzy, and would lose consciousness in the next second. To put it seriously, this would be called overload!
On the other hand, she was experiencing a surge of dopamine, her blood boiling in her steel-like veins, and the wildness ingrained in her genes was running rampant—she was absolutely ecstatic!
Fortunately, they were in a dark environment; otherwise, anyone who saw Erii's unrestrained, ferocious grin, driven by her dragon instincts, would have been terrified.
With a "thud," Erii kicked a ghoul's head off, and her body plummeted vertically downwards, only landing on solid ground nearly ten seconds later.
Unlike the noisy and exciting journey, once inside the lair, one is enveloped in a deathly silence steeped in the stench of blood.
Erii, however, heard the sound of hundreds of heartbeats.
Although they suppress their breathing, heartbeat, and movements to the slightest, they have nowhere to hide from Erii's ears.
The atmosphere was oppressive and heavy, like an invisible tide constantly rising and gradually engulfing this circular nest that resembled the ancient Roman Colosseum!
Of course, this oppressive aura was released by Erii.
She stood on the flat ground in the center of the nest, which was roughly oval in shape and had a series of steps leading up to it.
Each layer, like a honeycomb, is filled with caves, and the all-encompassing heartbeat sounds come from within.
Wow~~~
A baby's cry broke the silence.
Immediately afterwards, a scene resembling the wailing of ten thousand infants appeared. Smelling the fresh flesh and blood of their fathers, all the ghoul cubs cried out in unison, filled with hunger.
The female ghouls knew very well that Erii's ability to venture here alone meant that all the male guards had been wiped out.
Swish!
For the sake of their clan's survival, they no longer hid, and all of them screamed as they rushed out of the delivery room, one after another rushing down from the top to Erii at the bottom.
At that moment, a dense, impenetrable web of sounds bound her.
hum~
The field unfolds.
A murderous will to die possesses the Kamaitachi, delivering death notices to them.
In an instant, the sounds of skin tearing open and bones shattering echoed incessantly.
hum!
At the same time, a brilliant white light burst forth from a hole on one side of the lair, illuminating the bloody scene of carnage.
A dozen or so figures stepped out, their alert expressions suddenly freezing as they stared dumbfounded at the scene unfolding before them.
puff puff~
Dozens of ghouls were frozen in mid-air, shattering into pieces, before falling like rain.
Huhu~
The Word of Power - Dustless Land was triggered, sweeping away all the corpses and blood that were about to be poured on Erii.
She looked toward the light source and, upon realizing that the newcomers were neither Frilian nor Philon, the smile on her face vanished instantly, replaced by cold indifference.
At that moment, two people flew out of the cave entrance where Erii had come from; it was the master and his apprentice.
"Yes, as expected," Frillie said calmly, glancing around.
Holding up the large light bulb, Philon said to Erii with a hint of reproach, "Next time, don't rush out without a word. What if something happens?"
The Kamaitachi withdrew, the dragon blood calmed down, and Erii realized that she had been too hasty. She lowered her head and obediently accepted her mother's criticism and education.
"Who are they?" Frillie squinted, unable to make out the faces of the people because they were standing in the light.
"I don't know, could it be a ghoul with magic? Should we kill it?" Erii asked innocently.
The sound wasn't loud, but it clearly reached the group's ears, startling them so much that they immediately turned off the lights and shouted, "We are human beings!"
Soon, the seven men and five women reached the bottom.
Among them were four mages, two priests, and six warriors, all dressed in excellent equipment and exuding heroic spirit.
"Hello," said the young man at the head of the group, who had blond hair and emerald-green eyes. "We are a knight adventurer's guild from the Empire. I am the guild leader, Jera, and they are all my members."
His tone was friendly, and his appearance was quite sunny and cheerful, but his eyes were full of apprehension when he looked at Erii.
Not only him, but everyone else also glanced at Erii with utter shock, confusion, and awe. Clearly, what had just happened had a profound impact on them.
The four magicians were particularly surprised and uncertain, because their detection magic had not detected the slightest fluctuation of magic power in Erii's body!
Not a magician?
However, remaining motionless while annihilating ghouls in a wide area doesn't align with the logic of a warrior engaging in close combat.
I didn't see her use any large-scale destructive magical tools!
Is this... reasonable?
"We accepted the mission to exterminate the ghouls. It was an official commission issued by the Adventurers' Guild. I didn't expect you guys to beat us to it. But it's okay, you can take this commission. I'll accept it fair and square." Jera laughed heartily and took out a commission letter from his pocket.
"No need," Frilian said, casually casting a few spells to wipe out all the ghoul cubs crawling out of their lair.
The effortless, zero-frame instantaneous attack made the opponent's pupils constrict, realizing that the three girls in front of them were all formidable characters who didn't show off their skills.
"Philan, Erii, let's go." Frilian had no interest in making friends and took off first, returning the way she came.
Philen gestured for Erii to hug her waist, and then followed closely behind with her.
As the three figures walked away, a glint of light appeared in Jera's eyes.
"Captain, that girl has no magic power. Either she's hidden so well that none of the four of us noticed her, or she's a unique individual, the first of its kind in the world," a middle-aged mage said solemnly.
"To be able to hide to the point of being undetectable, could they be remnants of the Shadow Warriors? But that doesn't explain that magic-like ability," Jera murmured, utterly perplexed.
Erii's face appeared in his mind, and a slight smile appeared on his lips. "Interesting. This trip has been very fruitful."
"Captain, our next mission is to eliminate the bear demon in Thor Village. We need to..." a member began.
Jera shook his head, his expression extremely serious, and said, "Back in the capital, I suddenly remembered that I left the tap running at home."
He took a couple of steps, then stopped. "That elf, that must be Frillie, the one who defeated the Demon King, right?"
"Yes, I have seen her portrait in the history of magic," a magician replied.
"After decades of silence, this old woman is starting to show her face again," Gerald said in a cryptic tone. "I hope she doesn't get targeted by those lunatics."
