The Reincarnation Journey of an Minecraft Player

The entire registration process was much faster than Gao Ge had originally expected. From the magic photo taking to identity registration and then to the subsidy distribution, it took less than an hour.

Yes, the Bureau of Otherworldly Affairs even provides a special landing subsidy for first-time registered otherworldly beings!

Sitting by the window, listening to the staff's explanation, Gao Ge unconsciously raised an eyebrow.

The otherworldly inhabitants of Arlinge not only enjoy the same social security and medical insurance as the locals, but also have access to a points-based residency policy.

Before you accumulate enough points and money to buy your own house, the Bureau of Housing and Urban-Rural Development will even provide free accommodation for a year.

"Mr. Gao Ge, all your paperwork has been completed. You should be able to get your ID card within seven working days. Here is your dormitory key. Your dormitory is in Unit 2, Building 17, Room 601 in the resettlement area. Please keep it safe."

After taking the key, Gao Ge and Frazier left the Bureau of Eccentricities' office hall and went to the resettlement area dormitory behind it.

Even now, Gao Ge still feels a strong sense of unreality.

This other world of swords and magic is a little too unlike any other world!

"Shall we go upstairs and sit together?"

Gao Ge extended a polite invitation, which Frazier noticed, so he waved his hand and said,

"Let's do it another day. I need to go back and turn in my task later. Oh, and remember to get your level verified after you receive your ID card; it's helpful for the points-based residency application process."

With Frazier looking puzzled, Gao Ge gave an OK sign, then turned and went upstairs.

The room looked fairly clean and tidy, but the furnishings were rather simple.

A wooden bed, a wardrobe without doors, and nothing else.

Gao Ge hesitated for only a moment before decisively turning around and going downstairs again.

Frazier hadn't gone far when he heard the commotion behind him. He turned around and saw Gao Ge catching up. He immediately laughed.

"Are you so reluctant to part with me? Haha, just kidding, just kidding."

Frazier glanced at the time on his watch and continued,

"Not satisfied with the dorm room? The conditions here weren't great at first, but they'll gradually improve."

"I know we need a place to stay first, but the furnishings are a bit too basic..."

It's nothing compared to his warm and familiar doghouse back home, or even his room in the main Minecraft world.

Gao Ge vaguely recalled Frazier's previous rambling explanations and asked, "I remember you mentioned before that the Bureau of Extraterritorial Affairs provides currency exchange services?"

"That's right!"

Frazier nodded in confirmation, "Technology, intelligence, supernatural items, precious metals, and energy storage ores can all be exchanged for Star Coins at the Bureau of Alien Management."

After saying that, he raised an eyebrow and continued, "Technical intelligence is hard to value, and it takes a long time... Oh right, you have space-related equipment, right?"

During the sparring session at the Adventurers' Guild just now, a weapon appeared out of thin air in Gao Ge's hand, which clearly indicates that he possesses a storage space device.

Gao Ge nodded noncommittally, "It's best not to trouble two people with one matter. Will you come with me again?"

Frazier did not refuse and followed Gao Ge back to the office of the Bureau of Eccentricities.

Seeing Gao Ge return, the service staff at the window quickly put on a standard, professional smile.

"Mr. Gao Ge?"

"Currency exchange service, let's see how much money I can get."

As soon as he finished speaking, Gao Ge slammed a large lump of thick gold onto the counter.

Gao Ge couldn't say for sure which version of Minecraft his main world was, as it incorporated many different features from various versions.

In earlier versions of Minecraft, ores like gold and iron would drop directly when mined. Later versions replaced these ores with raw gold and raw iron.

Only after being smelted once will they become the familiar gold and iron ingots.

There are no smelted gold ingots in Gao Ge's backpack yet, but this big lump of crude gold will do for now.

After all, he didn't have enough wood in his bag to craft a workbench, so he couldn't craft a furnace either.

Both the staff and Fraser fell silent upon seeing the golden ore, which was larger than their heads.

"......Is this gold?"

"yes."

"Such a big piece?!"

Frazier gasped.

Gold is a hard currency in every world. First, its formation requires extreme cosmic events, making it extremely scarce. Second, it is quite stable and difficult to produce artificially. Third, it mainly exists near the Earth's core, with only a very small amount that can be mined.

Therefore, from ancient times to the present, all of humanity has maintained a remarkably consistent attitude towards gold.

Even in a world with magic, it's the same.

"...This is not very common. Mr. Gao, please wait a moment. We have specialized appraisers here."

The man arrived quickly; soon a man wearing a monocle and a mage's robe came down the stairs.

Without much preamble, he placed one hand on the rough gold that Gao Ge had taken out, and a flash of pale blue light revealed the result.

"The total weight is 715 kilograms, with a gold content of 1.7%, approximately 12.4 kilograms. At the current exchange rate, this is equivalent to 2700 Holy Kingdom Gold Coins, or you can exchange it for 27 Star Coins."

That makes sense, Gao Ge nodded.

The mineral smelting in Minecraft certainly doesn't conform to the laws of real physics. Although it's true that after smelting nine crude gold, you can synthesize a cubic meter of gold weighing 19 tons at the workbench, it's obviously different in reality.

After all, the item is called crude gold, so you can't expect it to be 100% pure.

As Fraser mentioned before, the world's monetary system uses regular gold, silver, and copper for everyday use, while star coins are more reserved for adventurers with extraordinary powers.

Gao Ge turned his gaze to Frazier, whose expression was noticeably calmer, though a slight twitch at the corner of his mouth was still visible.

"Tsk, thank goodness, it's only a few years' worth of my income... I mentioned treating you to dinner before, how about we discuss whether I can treat you and you pay the bill?"

"Ha! These are minor issues!"

Gao Ge first withdrew 100 gold coins in cash to carry with him, and the remainder would be directly deposited into his personal account.

"Anyway, let's take care of the renovation of my dorm room first, what do you think?"

"Leave it to me, you don't need to worry about such a small thing."

Frazier patted his chest and said, "If there's nothing else, I'll head out now. I can go home after I finish this task!"

Although Gao Ge thought the process had been quite swift, several hours had already passed including travel time. Gao Ge didn't know the exact time, but it was clearly getting dark outside.

After seeing Gao Ge nod, Frazier quickly disappeared from sight with light steps, and Gao Ge returned to her dormitory first.

Looking at the simple wooden bed, Gao Ge shrugged.

"Just make do for the next couple of days... huh?"

He listened intently and thought he heard Luffy's voice.
